I don't want to agree with this guy, but he's right. I like that the tie-ins matter, but there is no tension when every shocking twist at the end of each issue is nullified by its follow up. It reminds me of the big moments of Fear Itself when they were redacted in its epilogue.

Weird Science Marvel Comics - Weird Science Jim

While this issue didn't quite validate everything that came before, the art was great and the story had action, heart and a sense of consequence. For that I call it a win.

This was a pretty good ending, but nothing truly unexpected.

The crisis resolves with some simplistic action and the traditional undoing of all the event's "cheap heat" deaths. It promises a dramatic change of the cosmic status quo; we'll see. The dialogue feels like the high point here; the visuals are polished but somehow forgettable. I feel like there's a Catch-22 going on between this issue and FF #23; whichever you read first, the second will feel a bit repetitive. To me, this one is the better presentation, with the kids' impact on the event shown in greater depth.

A "meh" ending to a "meh" event. I feel like they wasted 4 issues and then tried to pack too much into the last 2. The finale was just not great. How the main plot points were wrapped up was either predictable, rushed, anti-climatic, or all 3. I feel like the heart warming moment with Valeria, Franklin, the Kree kid, and the Skrull kid was the high note of an otherwise underwhelming issue.

Eh. The event started off well enough, but it was too short and lost a lot of focus, partly due to the missing tie ins that affected the story greatly. Thor and black panther have tie ins that would have affected the story in a major way and instead they just show up at the end like a huge ex machina, it was very bizarre. As for the ending itself, nothing really major not universe changing happened, it could have been an avengers arc or fantastic four arc. The only lasting consequences that this would have an effect on would be the guardians of the galaxy, which should have tied into this event also since it was written by Ewing. All in all, it's just a strange event, and even though it's not as convoluted and stupid as civil war 2 or more

It all started greatly (with a plot twist and very good spin-offs about the character's motivations)... And the ending is just so bland and dull. Everything is back to normal, people who looked dead are alive and Tony Stark saves the day with generic hero sentences. Not much to talk about. Big crossovers are always disappointing as of late.

What can I say, it ended. For such a good start, the plot kept dragging and dragging and dragging out for four damn issues, so by the time the final issue comes up, everything has to be rushed to a conclusion. Off the bat, I could already tell Ewing/Slott just needed to wrap this shit up. The art is good although this finale had some rough moments, the writing is overall solid, but the pacing and direction, its just not going anywhere. Events like this suffer from not making every issue of the main event count. So the finale has to be extra size to catch whatever is crashing down. It was interesting stuff Empyre was doing, but it made the critical mistake of not moving the plot in each issue we get. Only NOW does Reed and Stark do somet more
