This wasn't too bad compared to the last few issues. I mean, it still had mediocre, lifeless art, horrible dialogue and terrible writing decisions (telling the story from Herbie's point of view, then learning about his final fate off-screen). I liked the issue overall, but Marvel needs to end the practice of relaunching a title with the SAME writer just because they're addicted to those #1 issue sale spikes. It is really fucking annoying and beyond idiotic. Tom Brevoort needs to retire in my opinion as he's had far more misses than hits in the last ten years. I found the story interesting enough but Corey Smith's faces at times looked about as bad as Esad Ribic's.

A world where a child Franklin Richards has unlimited control due to his vast reality warping powers was really interesting to me. It basically confirms he's by far the most powerful earthbound being in Marvel.

I don't know if I 100% understand what happened at the end, but North subtly saying fuck you to Slott's stupid retcon gets my enthusiastic approval. I know some people haven't been high on Smith's art, but other than a few panels I thought it was pretty solid. The Namor and Jean pairing is kind of weird but whatever it's an alternative universe.

While I found the the battle with Davos at the beginning to be annoying (as I don't know why they're fighting a DeFalco era villain when Doom has taken over the world), I found Ben's determination to reacquire his powers to be quite compelling (though I'm not sure I understood what happened at tge end there). Regardless, I'm interested to see where this goes in the next issue.
