Ultimate FF #5

Before we dig into that I have to say that Fialkov has actually been building up to the final pages in his Ultimate Universe work. From the start of his Ultimates run with the introduction of Future Evil Sue Storm he has seeded the idea that Sue can be just as callous as any villain. This is the issue were we see that come to horrifying fruition as she prepares to operate on Reed Richards. Its not a comfortable scene, its unnerving and all together nauseating. Yet it makes sense and Sue even quotes her evil future self before acting. I blame the sudden cancellation for the rushed occurrence, but who can say? It was an exhilarating issue and one that touched upon a nice variety of emotions and I hope whoever the writer of the last issue is, they dont drop the ball. Read Full Review

While the story is out there and it took 5 issues to really find a footing, ULTIMATE FF #5 is a hit. Sadly, it's coming to an end soon. Fialkov has a field day and throws as many animal puns into the issue as possible, and the issue ends in a very creepy/scary way, especially if the reader is a man. Flat-out, I like what's going on here, as an Ultimate fan. While it's no MILES MORALES, ULTIMATE FF, right now, is a ton of fun and a worth picking up. Read Full Review

Ultimate FF #5 is utter crap, pure and simple. There is nothing right with this comic. The story is horrendous and contrived as hell… and in poor taste. (::puts sunglasses on::) The tone is inconsistent and makes it hard to take the book seriously. The ending is so wrong and so stupid on so many different levels. The writing is forgettable and the artwork is bland. This was Joshua Hale Fialkov's final issue on the book (he sadly got too sick to continue with finishing the last issue, so there'll be a fill-in) and it looks like he decided to go completely crazy with this. However, the results are an absolute joke and have resulted in the worst comic I've seen Marvel put out since Marville. Read Full Review

Yeah, yeah, imagine leaving your assistant to rule your county in your absence, but then she just makes typical villain things, calls herself in the castle (reread Ultimatum #1 if you want) and also leaves Latveria to help Sue in Atlantis and etc. Yeah, yeah, nice retcon, awesome. It really makes sense, yeah. Also the ending... What the fuck? What did she do? I only think about what she possibly COULD do and it already makes me cringe. Well, I can't really find anything good in this comic. It's just didn't even use the potential of the Ultimate animal-verse...
