Sep 27, 2019I find myself very conflicted with Bendis' Unity Saga storyline. I hate many of the decisions that Bendis made to set this story in motion, such as aging Jon and shoehorning Rogol Zaar into the story of Krypton's destruction. But given the questionable start, he has managed to bring it to a somewhat satisfying conclusion. I have to conclude that I enjoyed reading the story, but I look forward to the next major retcon that wipes away the parts of the Superman mythos that Bendis broke to produce this story. Sep 24, 2019This is not an easy book for people to just drop into because it's the end of a storyline that Bendis has been telling over the last year while serving as a launching point for a big property that I love. I'm able to connect the dots based on the limited reading I did before and my longtime love of the Legion in all its various forms. I can see how Bendis is looking to take the things that were lost in the original Crisis and bring them back but working within the current continuity and tweaking other things. It does work but it still pains the heart a little bit remembering those classic adventures, the pocket universe, and all the other ways it was patched over the years. That's part of what makes the Legion special for many. There's a lot of potential here and I'm excited to see if it can be fully realized. Read Full Review

Multiversity Comics - Michael Govan
Sep 20, 2019Their personalities comes through in the artwork as well. Ivan Reis does a great job throughout the entire comic but the highlight is certainly the pages featuring the Legion. You can tell from their cheering, smiling faces how excited the teenagers are to witness the very first Unity Day, how much it means to them. The costumes all look great too. Some of my personal favorites are the ones on Lightning Lad, Timber Wolf and Brainiac 5. Each costume is unique but are also cohesive at the same time. They are all vibrant, colorful designs that denote a bright, shining future. In "Superman" #15, the end of the 'Unity Saga' is really a new beginning. Read Full Review

The Legion are only in ten of the twenty-three pages of this issue. And in those ten pages the Legion are largely just there for window dressing and humor. They are never the focus of the story. God fucking damn it. Bendis again ignoring continuity as he did in his marvel days. This Superman is a pre-Flashpoint, post-Crisis Superman. It's just so odd to see Superman react with a huh? to seeing the Legion when he's worked with them multiple times. He should definitely know who the Legion of Super-Heroes are, he grew up hanging out with most of them. And I don't wanna see replies saying oh it's rebirth, it's part of New 52, this Superman is literally transported from before New 52, and in the Superman Reborn arc in Tomasi's run he merged both histories so everything happened. Prelude: Hey, it's time to do Bendis' Superman. GGREEAATTT. Oh and it's also a Legion focused issue too! This will definitely bode well for the rating because as everyone knows Bendis Superman + Bendis Legion is a really good number. Let's get this over with so I can go and enjoy reviewing Superman's Pal Jimmy Olsen instead. The Good: Positives... Positives... Oh, the art is great. I expected the "grand finale" of the Unity Saga to be something unsatisfying and ultimately mediocre, but I had no idea it was going to be the single stupidest finale I've read recently. There are a lot of problems with it, not the least of which is the end of "Jor-El"'s arc. I mean, he's disposed of as easily as if there was no importance to him. I mean, after all he was only the catalyst for the entire story so far; there are no words that properly express how dumb this all was. "generic alien" (rogol-zaar) was confirmed to be nothing more than a discount doomsday, with a few extra taken off the top because it's damaged. Good riddance.
