On his 40th birthday, Reed tells Sue that there are gaps in his memories that were probably caused by an alien in the Negative Zone. He recalls his earliest memory: a fight against the giant alien Gormuu. They go to the Richards estate in California with the hope of awakening memories. They find his missing father's lab, which contains a time platform. (Cover date: October, 1984)
