I am so glad Eleonora Carlini is back because I'm really loving her stylized art. In an earlier review, I had said it reminded me of what I imagine animation stills would be from a Don Bluth animated movie or "Spider-Man Into the Spider-Verse," but after reading this issue, I think that an even better comparison for Carlini's art would be Nickelodeon's "The Last Airbender." I am also happy to see Steve Orlando build upon the foundation he laid in the first arc. Now that the Marauders have fulfilled their obligatory A.X.E. tie-in, I hope this story arc will have more "room to breath" and not seem as rushed.

It's a very expository issue where little happens, plot or character-wise. A few nice phrases and a big wad of world-building make up for the overall didactic tone -- barely. The story of Threshold is new. Not great, but at least new. I particularly liked the art this time around. Taking a couple of issues off gave Eleonora Carlini a big boost. Or maybe I'm just getting used to her style.
