Fantastic Four is the most consistently good superhero comic on the stands today. Every issue offers something new to think about while the heroes resolve science adventures. Even as a tie-in to a major event, Ryan North proves he's having a ton of fun pushing this book to new heights, and we're all better off for it. Read Full Review

Ryan North writes almost every issue of Fantastic Four as a window into one of the main characters. There are no special character oriented issues because theyre all character oriented. Here he takes the circumstances created by a major event, largely ignores the event itself, and turns it into the series best Reed-centric issue. Indeed, Fantastic Four #21courtesy of outstanding writingtakes one of the deepest dives into Reed Richards mind in a very, very long time. Read Full Review

Fantastic Four #21 finds an exciting angle on this summer's event, but struggles in its initial execution but there's only upside for the second part of this story next month. Read Full Review

I was disappointed to see that we'd have two months of tie ins, but this proved to be an excellent issue! North continues the format he's used throughout this series, having his characters treat the event as a science problem to be solved. This integrated seamlessly with the rest of the run. I did think it was weird that Reed straight up killed two vampires, though. Like, he dissolved them into dust and no one addressed it.

I would give it a lower score because the whole vampire invasion put of nowhere is a bit contrived. But I enjoyed the beginning the most where Reed and Alicia were in the museum having a heart to heart about art, and how it doesn't effect Reed emotionally because of his genius way of looking at the world. The dialogue they had in these pages really made them feel like real people.

I'm not a fan of the Fantastic Four, never have been. I picked this issue up because of the Blood Hunt connection, and I don't regret it. Solid issue. A little ham fisted with the "Reed thinks like a scientist, not an artist" bit, but there were enough enjoyable aspects to the issue that it was still enjoyable.

I dont think my normal review style would make any sense for my rating this time so I am just doing pros and cons and hope it makes sense: Pros: -Alicia acts human (which might be a low bar but Marvel cant seem to do this right) and when things are quite has real worries. Nice to see it. -I laughed pretty hard at Reeds %s including a sliver for if Johnny does stupid things. -Seeing Reed use his power in a more interesting way then just in a small battle. Stretching out across several blocks to create safe passage is both interesting and not often seen. Neutral: I feel like the FF family is written mostly in character but something feels slightly off. I cant quite put my finger on it. Still not bad but slightly skewed. Cons: - more

Bloodhunt side story. Nothing really happened. From trapped in a museum to trapped in a stadium. The art is ugly.
