Breaking Into Marvel Comics #1 |

This is where it all began for Marvel Comics. Marvel Comics (1939) #1 (after research on the name, it is sometimes referred to as Breaking In Marvel Comics, so it is the same issue, just titled differently here), the very beginning. Below, I have rated each story individually, which will give the overall rating for this comic.
STORIES:
"The Human Torch" (3.5/5)
"The Angel" (3/5)
"The Sub-Mariner" (4/5)
"The Masked Raider" (3/5)
"Jungle Terror" (3/5)
"Burning Rubber" (2.5/5)
"Adventures of Ka-Zar the Great" (4/5)
OVERALL - 3/5
I quite enjoyed this issue, and enjoyed the stories that were in it.

What a story that has virtually no flaws whatsoever. I haven’t read any of the DC comics, but now that I’m getting into the world of comics, and the hype I’ve seen around the Absolute series, I decided I’d check it out. And this issue marks the beginning of the Absolute universe. This issue intrigues me for what comes both before and after the events of this issue. Overall I don’t see how this issue could have been any better.

A great way to introduce both the world and the characters. From the second it started up until the very end I was captivated into the story and felt immersed in this world. I’m quite excited to see how both the world and the characters develop, as I have heard this comic has some of the best world and character building in all of comics.

Reading the comic after watching the current 4 seasons of the show. Issue #1 felt wildly rushed. I know TV shows have to drag things out to hit that half hour to hour run time, but even with that in mind, this issue still felt rushed. Don’t get me wrong, it’s still good.
