Geek Dad - Ray Goldfield
Apr 08, 2026This is the kind of story that slowly builds the horror as it moves along, revealing just how dystopian this world is and how far their reach goes. It’s pretty clear that they’re not just ruling their own worlds with an iron fist, they’re looking to expand their reach to Earth. And in a world full of cosmic enemies and unpredictable deities, these totalitarians might be the scariest thing we’ve seen yet. Read Full Review

AIPT - Deidre Freitas
Apr 08, 2026In some ways a slower paced comic than the other Absolute titles, there's more than enough pay-off in the ways that each story beat in this week's issue will have far-reaching consequences for our friends back on Earth. However, this issue does feel in some ways like a standalone to the rest of the series. Read Full Review

Fanlight Zone - Ken M.
Apr 08, 2026With a lack of Jo or any of the current storyline players, this issue builds up for more in the future, but doesn’t help the present. Ewing’s writing welcomes in the timeline hijinx to mixed success. The art team puts together some unique visuals as the story takes a few uneven turns. There’s a lot to try processing here. This book continues to be a glorious mess, both in terms of writing and now art as well. A new storyline seems to kick off involving an Overseer on Rann called Shade, who is dealing with an insurrectionist (Agent Carter type seems like a good comparison) that comes through a portal aka a zeta beam. This is the main story while in the secondary plot, we are told that Absolute Sinestro is sending a planet-killer called Mogo to Earth and that the Overseer on Rann must prepare his troops (Black Hands) for the arrival of the Tomar.
If any of this shit makes sense to anyone else reading this book, more power to you. I hope you continue to enjoy this book, which from my perspective has turned into an Absolute Mess, written by Al Ewing as more -
