A real standout title. Pretty sad that people who don't read comics are review bombing this
Action Comics #1044
The Warworld Revolution is here! With the Genesis Stone feeding Kal-El a portion of his long-dormant powers, the quest to overthrow Mongul's tyrannical rule is well under way...but can Superman convince the war-torn combat-ants of this hellish nightmare planet that kindness can best cruelty? All this, plus Midnighter stabs some fools who had it com...
If this is a parody, then well done. If not... lol

Nightwing #92

But as his half sister sharing the last name of the man who killed his parents, it's...a lot to juggle, and enough for one to accidentally let...
The book emphesizing that the main antagonist is Jewish and then portraying him using antisemitic stereotypes is troubling, to say the least.

The clock is ticking for Bruce in more ways than one after Harley Quinn's daughter goes missing. And if she takes after her father, the fate of the city...
Not a lot of good books this week, but this has been a consistent standout. By far the best Superman ongoing since Morrison, no question.
Action Comics #1043
The next chapter of the Warworld Saga begins! Following the first victory by Superman and the Phaelosians, the Warworld Rebellion has begun. But Mongul has become more merciless than ever, cracking down on his enemies with unspeakable cruelty. With Superman's people suffering and his options dwindling, his thoughts turn to the mythical necropolis t...
It was fine, but it dropped the ball after two volumes. Doesn't stack up to this run.
This whole event has been one big "ok". Lot of exposition and splash pages, but very little worthwhile happening.
Deathstroke Inc. #9
A tragic death sends the Shadow War into overdrive, and Batman and Robin must solve the mystery before more blood is shed! Meanwhile, Deathstroke regroups with the Secret Society to plan an attack on Talia and the League of Shadows. If Talia wanted a war, she's going to get a war!
Reads like Twitter bait, honestly. Hard to believe that this snoozefest comes from the same writer as DC vs Vampires.
Task Force Z #8
All-new team! Same old problems! After losing everything, Task Force Z has finally discovered who their real enemy is. Jason and his team are on the run, underpowered, and outgunned. But everyone knew this was really just a Suicide Squad when they signed up, right? One way or another, they are going to finish this. Only one thing stands in their wa...
Great start, super excited to see where it leads. Anyone who didn't like it is a whiny little bitch baby.
Devil's Reign #1
The story that's been building for years is here! Wilson Fisk went from Kingpin to Mayor of the biggest city in America and is going to bring his full criminal and political power to bear on the super heroes who call NYC home. The man who once destroyed Daredevil has set his sights on The Fantastic Four, Iron Man, Captain America, Spider-Man, Jessi...
We get more of the inner workings of Starship Hulk this issue. I think Cates is doing a nice job of making this work through Banner's control of the Hulk portion of his psyche. I'm guessing that Betty is really a portion of Bruce's empathy that Bruce has managed to split off from himself in order to create this monstrosity.
It's debatable whether or not that's regressive for the charac

Hulk #2
"MAD SCIENTIST" Part 2 of 6 Bruce Banner finally has total control with the Hulk locked away. But with a tight grip on his plans, Bruce forgot one thing...variables can happen at any time...and this one? Even Bruce couldn't have imagined. The craziness continues, as the Hulk hurdles farther into space, but he is not alone out there!
I'll be nice with nonspecific wording, but people of his... persuasion are a paranoid, cowardly lot that live their lives in constant fear over the most meaningless things they've been told is in the dark.
You know you got a pretty solid comic when you know that it triggers the diseased part of the Internet.
Nightwing Vol. 1: Leaping Into The Light
Nightwing is back in Blüdhaven and his drive to keep his adopted city safe has never been stronger! But protecting Blüdhaven is no small task, especially now that it’s being menaced by Nightwing’s most terrifying foe yet-a mysterious and murderous villain with a penchant for stealing his victim’s hearts, known only as Heartless. Collected...
Wow.
That would be a sufficient response to reading a book like this as I have just done. But it certainly isn't sufficient to my tastes.
Im quite certain if you're reading this you have either already read the book, or you already plan to. But in case those don't apply, I'll be the one of untold many to tell you do stop what you are doing and read this book.

Wonder Woman Historia: The Amazons #1
The wait is over, and the entire story of the Amazons can finally be told! Millennia ago, Queen Hera and the goddesses of the Olympian pantheon grew greatly dissatisfied with their male counterparts...and far from their sight, they put a plan into action. A new society was born, one never before seen on Earth, capable of wondrous and terrible thing...
Yeah, sorry, Brandon Thomas doesn't really get what being a hero means. There's a panel where Arthur chooses to save only one of the two pilots. It's true, it's implied the other was a traitor, but at that point Arthur had no idea that was the case. This being Brandon Thomas, a writer absolutely obsessed with race, I do think that in his disgusting mind, he thought a hero would prioritize saving a more
Aquaman / Green Arrow: Deep Target #2
As Aquaman and Green Arrow work to piece together the mystery of the altered timeline, Scorpio's General Anderton gets an upgrade of his own.
I can't believe the fans voted for this one. The writing is really not good at all. And the art is... an acquired taste. I really don't have much to say about this issue beyond that. As a tangent to lengthen my review, I've never been more confused by a comic's attempt at political inserts than by the Devotees of Anarchy. It's obviously QAnon inspired, but at the same time, it's about anarchy. The more
Robins #1
The five heroes to have donned the Robin cape and mask find themselves at a crossroads in their lives. Dick Grayson, Jason Todd, Tim Drake, Stephanie Brown, and Damian Wayne come together to discuss the big thing that binds them together: Was being Robin, and Batman's sidekick, the best choice they could've made? But before they can get to the hear...
Seeley has written some very good comics in the past, and the disparity between the real Anarky and the terrorists here is intentional. https://twitter.com/HackinTimSeeley/status/1460794140065734663?s=20 It's not uncommon for these QAnon-types to misunderstand and misappropriate political ideologies. Just look at Merlyn.
I've read plenty of his work and holy shit, it isn't good. And yeah, I know it's not uncommon, I said as much. I just don't trust Seeley and, since I'm no fan, I'm also not following him on twitter. I'm glad it's intentional. Doesn't change my review here, because I didn't rate it on this one part of the comic. I rated it for its very poor writing.
Lmao, it's very funny how Merlyn is deciding to review bomb things he's not reading just because I'm reading and reviewing it.
He did the same thing for me. Granted, it wasn't shocking that he "read" Dark Knights of Steel but his review was a direct reaction to only the first line of my review. If he can't even read the reviews we post that he shadow follows, how can he be reading the books he hates??
I read this nice and early so I could review it early, so I could hope to miss out on the terrible, toxic discourse this series creates because a minority of idiots decide to keep reading a book that sends them for a spin for daring to be written by someone who's not as idiotic as them. The optimist in me doesn't see much that could be potentially disagreeable here, even from their idiotic perspec more
Superman: Son of Kal-El #4
Kal-El has left, and the weight of the world now rests on his son's shoulders. Powerful forces have been threatened by Jon Kent's first leaps in his father's boots. It's hard to hurt a man of steel, but his loved ones make a much easier target.Jon's world is about to come crashing down.
They all like to read from the same script. They're NPCs, incapable of original thoughts.
1.I'm getting a little tired of some fans saying Taylor is a bad writer. I'm not sure that anyone is writing a better series than this one, possibly at any company. He has also made me a fan of Jonathan Kent and even of him in the Superman role in one issue flat. I didn't think any writer capable of that. The guys is shitting gold lately. DC should give him the run of the place or at least give hi more
Nightwing #83
It's a fight for the soul of the city! Now that Dick Grayson has inherited more money than he could possibly need, he has an idea on how he can help the city with it-and it's time for him to announce it to the world! But with Blüdhaven's so beyond saving, what idea does he have that could possible save it? Meanwhile, an unexpected figure comes int...
@Weird Science Jim. No one is complaining about you. They're complaining about the obvious review bombing from newly made accounts, and that one idiot who thinks everything is an attack on his precious Trump.
Not gonna get deep into the Afghanistan pullout because nuance is dead here, but "Afghani" is a currency. Calling the Afghan people "Afghanis" is basically telling everyone in the room that you don't know anything about the conflict.
I don't care about the retcon because I'm not a cuck. The art and the writing are on point here. I was thoroughly entertained.
Nightwing #82
Melinda Zucco's connection to the man who killed Dick Grayson's parents wasn't a surprise to the Blüdhaven hero, but what the former Robin discovers about Melinda's ties to the Flying Graysons leaves the usually upbeat detective speechless.

Wow, you aren't kidding! https://i.imgur.com/l256z84.png How deranged do you have to be to have a fictional character living in your head rent-free?
I genuinely can't get over how much of a crybaby Merlyn is in his review. You should really get some therapy if one panel makes you go off like that. Sadistic? Lmao. The stories here are mostly pretty good. Fetch is really cute. I really like how G. Willow Wilson writes Clark in De-Escalation. Your Favorite was fine but not... my favorite. Red Sun...Blue Dot looks great and Generations is heartfel more
Superman: Red & Blue #5
There's no dog in the Multiverse quite like Superman's real best friend, Krypto!
Join us this month for an epic retelling of Superman's canine companion's origin story, along with four additional tales about the Man of Steel, including one that proves that even in his secret identity Clark Kent is just as super. While Superman is known for ...
Wow! This was atrocious even by Tom King standards. It sounded like something Bendis would write, but I'm sure Tom thought he sounded highly intelligent, just as his fans love to think about themselves. Poor Supergirl, after the cringey tv show and the bad comics from the last years, now she has to go through this torture too. I wouldn't be surprised if she becomes a villain after this, it's King' more
Supergirl: Woman of Tomorrow #1
Kara Zor-El has seen some epic adventures over the years, but finds her life without meaning or purpose. Here she is, a young woman who saw her planet destroyed and was sent to Earth to protect a baby cousin who ended up not needing her. What was it all for? Wherever she goes, people only see her through the lens of Superman's fame. Just when Super...
Merlyn, your a fat idiot that needs to go outside more instead of being obssessed with a writer who doesn't know you exist. Maybe even talk to a breathing female for once instead of the corpses we all know you like to play with ;)
Direct block. And I'm not even going to unblock you because it's not the first time you come out of nowhere with nothing but insults. Like in football, you get two yellow cards, it's a red.
Thank you for the concern on how I spend my money, however completion of a run is important and I'm optimistic that things will improve eventually. Bendis at least understood the character of Superman and knew to keep stories short to appeal to a large audience. The formula is simple 3 stories that are 4 issues each that tie into a larger story arc to be resolved during the summer annual season. This is just banking on trade paperback sales. I understand their shift but I don't have to like it
...I mean, have you been out of comics since the late 90s? Cause that's when the trade paperbacks really began to play a role in the construction of stories in the ongoing titles. Bendis' run had long arcs, but they were incoherent, which is why you thought it didn't.
