Tom King was literally pulled off Batman 15 issues short. Even the fan dead DC saw he was tanking the flagship title. I had zero interest in his consolation prize BatmanCatwoman which as I expected is the same standard of lazy garbage he did with Batman. He seems to fare a little better reader wise with second and third tier characters like mister miracle but I dont care. He succeeded in stopping from buying my favorite book for nearly 85 issues and his writing stinks on ice.

Yeah ok art is subjective but I don't even give King that leeway for what he did to batman.

I'm glad you made the Bendis comparison because I've caught him too many times doing that "This is how real people talk" schtick that Bendis tries to do but these days fails at terribly. He's not as bad as Bendis in this department but there were moments in his Batman run where he came REALLY close and yes folks, some people still take a chance on a new Tom King #1 even when they historically hate him.

It was so bad, he got booted off the book early. Why DC keep screwing Supergirl I'll never know. I actually liked that Mark Andreyko run a bit but they booted him off of that and gave it to...I don't even remember because it sucked. They do the same thing to Batgirl.

I actually really, really liked his run up until #50. I though he brought a lot of very interesting ideas that Batman desperately needed at that time. That's what these people don't get, I don't "hate" Tom King, I'll praise him when he writes a good book, I'm not petty like that.

But after the second half of his Batman run, after Heroes in Crisis, after Batman/Catwoman, after Strange Adventures I started to notice that no matter how badly he writes there are always going to be a lot of people who're going to praise him even when his writing is atrocious. And they're always rating his stupid shit with 10 like it's a masterpiece. It's a disgrace.

If on the cover of this book it would be the name of, I don't know, say, Robert Venditti? No one would care about this and the rating would be very, very low. But since it's King let's all pretend this is Watchmen or something. And yeah, I also agree about Supergirl and Batgirl, DC continues to screw these characters by giving them only to bad writers. Which is a shame because along with Wonder Woman, they're the best female superheroes DC has.

Fist issues usually sell well, not to mention all the comic book stores speculating based on the now deleted Tom King Tweet stating that there would be graphic sexual content in the issue. A lot of those 200k books are going to be returned. The book was a mess with the flashbacks and as I said the story is sub par fan fiction at best. Hopefully DC will be able to get back on track after the FutureShock garbage 2 month hiatus, that is if there is a DC left after AT&T gutted the company.
