Why you like drawings that lack fine details and depth? If you want art look at the work of Dan Jurgens. His Superman is MILES ahead of the current work done in the Superman book. Then again DC would actually have to pay more to their talent. So we get cheapest and worst art being produced. Enjoy? :/

Feb 15, 2022A beautiful issue that shows the DC Universe is moving forward while embracing legacy and tradition. After this issue, I can see Dick Grayson and Jon Kent as the World's Finest, and this perfectly sets them up as respected leaders for the impending darkness that will attack the DCU. Read Full Review

Feb 15, 2022Someone's killing superheroes. Why? I guess we'll get to find out in Superman: Son Of Kal-El #9. In the meantime, please pick up Nightwing #89, you won't regret it. Batman fans will love it, Superman fans will dig it (whichever Superman you love), and Barbara Gordon and Dick Grayson fans will adore it (the choice of nightwear is, quite simply fantastic). This is the best superhero book on the shelves, possibly followed by those other books Tom Taylor's writing. Read Full Review

Feb 19, 2022As I always say, I'm not usually the biggest fan of crossovers, but I've come to realize that anything Tom Taylor writes is absolute gold, so I will always be here for it when he's involved. The second and final part of this issue takes place in Superman: Son of Kal-El #9. So, see you then! Read Full Review

Feb 21, 2022Nightwing and Superman's two-part crossover has begun with a bang, as this gorgeous issue feels jam-packed full of amazing character work and plot elements as the two characters have such an easy rapport. Big events are fine, but these are the types of crossovers that are amazing to see more of in comics again. Read Full Review

Feb 23, 2022I do hope we get a scene where Dick is able to talk to Jon more specifically about the civilian death that happened. But there is nothing like a good team-up to help clear the mind. Can't wait for part 2. Read Full Review

Feb 15, 2022DC Comics' NIGHTWING #89 is a ton of fun and it will make you want to immediately catch up with Taylor's other series, SUPERMAN: SON OF KAL-EL. This partnership feels like it could go on for thirty issues. Read Full Review

Feb 16, 2022This is a near-perfect issue, only lacking the little bit of extra to put it over but still worth every penny all the same. And that's how this book has been for a long time. Cut the check. Read Full Review

Feb 17, 2022This issue ofNightwing is very low-key in terms of its events compared to previous issues. Light on action, but full of fun character writing. A welcome break from the action for sure. Not necessary, but welcome. Another stellar issue from the Nightwing team. Read Full Review

Feb 15, 2022Nightwing #89 is a nice issue with a Super Sons team of sorts. Readers here for the smiles will be happy there are a couple to be had, but it feels a bit like empty calories at times. Still, everything looks great, and it's not a bad thing to smile once in a while. Read Full Review

Feb 16, 2022Nightwing #89 was a great start to the team-up between Dick Grayson and Jon Kent. The opening of this issue properly set-up the tone for the rest of this issue as Nightwing takes on a mentor role for Superman. How their dynamic develops as they look for answers behind the ones responsible for the deaths of several superheroes will be interesting to see play out. Read Full Review

Bleeding Cool - Hannibal Tabu
Mar 26, 2022Let's be clear — Tom Taylor does some of the best character writing in the industry right now, and the team of Bruno Redondo, Adriano Lucas, and Wes Abbott are making luxury car-class comics art. However, the challenges with the momentum of "rich Dick Grayson" getting established keep popping up when he has to hang out with the bigger licensed icons. It's not a bad thing, but it'd be nice to see this just run in its own lane for a while. Read Full Review

Batman-News - Michael Escalante
Feb 15, 2022Nightwing #89 is a perfectly fine team-up issue that doesn't do much to entice readers who aren't already endeared to Jon Kent. Both characters get about the same amount of pages dedicated to them, but Jon does have more going on in his life despite the issue not doing much to get readers up to speed. Additionally, the murder mystery at the issue's core is languid with a yawn of a cliffhanger page doing little to spruce things up. For fans of Nightwing, this issue can be skipped, but fans of Tom Taylor's recent output will likely get more out of it. Read Full Review
