Nightwing #90 is another excellent issue, in a looooong line of excellent issues. Blockbuster's not pulling any punches, Dick's life isn't getting any easier, and the villain that shows up at the end of the book sent shivers up both mine and Wally West's spines. ‘Nightwing' continues to lean heavily on the relationships that Dick Grayson has formed over the decades, which is just a boon for the title and for the universe as a whole. Nightwing #90 is a solid, if uninspiring, team-up book with Dick Grayson and Wally West as they find a way to go on the offensive after another attempt on Dick's life. Geraldo Borges' art makes a good impression, doing more than just filling in for series regular Bruno Redondo. Additionally, Tom Taylor's script finds a good angle for upping the stakes on Blockbuster's assassination attempts on Dick, putting more innocent civilians than ever in the crossfire. In a vacuum, this issue delivers a fun balance between action and character building, but the series as a whole feels rudderless, struggling to maintain momentum under the shadow of Dick's lofty ambitions to rebuild Bldhaven. The developments quickly get back to how Dick Grayson is still in incredible danger as Blockbuster is focusing all his power on eliminating him. Every few issues there's something that Taylor writes that showcases a slight weakness in his scripting. This isn't a bad issue, but it's indicative of the run's failures as a whole, and I'm hoping it actually leads to a place that's more thoughtful conceptually. I would make it short: Vivid and nice. Dick Grayson in broad daylight has become too conspicuous a target. A shame for a superhero. Result, one employs the great means to eliminate it. And Wally West gives his best friend a break. Lots of rhythm in this number. Barbara is a big, smart girl ! and I like the ending, it's intriguing. It smells like fighting! If the stakes are high, the treatment is light. A subtil balance that currently holds Tom Taylor. The drawings were more 'rough' than usual but it gave more asperities to the story. 9/10

It was a fun issue and the Nightwing-Flash interaction was awesome and reminded us why their friendship is probably the best in the DCU.

I really liked this issue! Nightwing looked great, saved a bunch of people, and had a crossover that felt like a natural inclusion to his ongoing story. Wally is one of my favorite characters too, so it was great seeing him here. I am a bit burnt on crossovers, so I aas concerned about this issue, but I think it was handled well by keeping the focus on Dick's life.

I'm seeing a lot of reviews bash Taylor for not having an over arching story and just adding filler. It's like people have never read comics before the 2000s. If you read anything from the Silver Age, Bronze Age, or even the early Modern Age, almost every series had filler issues and one off issues. A lot of the time, these issues were among the best since they were easy to read and allowed the reader some room to breathe, as well as allowing new readers to enter a series. Even in the series by popular modern writers (Bendis, Morrison, Hickman) all have one offs and filler. Hickman's Avengers was notorious for this, and people ate it up. People seem to really not like it when Taylor does it because they are mad at him for something el se. Rant done; this series is just really fun. Every issue is amazingly drawn, and the interactions between Dick and every character is just fun. Remember when comics could be fun instead of just dark and miserable? Highly recommend this entire run so far by Taylor more

this is probably the lamest excuse ever. this book has had 11 issues. fillers are okay but not six months of fillers and for a monthly book specially. i give the Taylor the credit he deserves when he has earned it. here he is just dragging one arc for about year. so please don't say something without even knowing what I'm talking about.

I really enjoyed this series. Great art from Bruce Redondo and dialogue between Nightwing and Wally West. One of the best runs right now so far.

Delightful and I love how Taylor writes Dick and Wally's friendship, but although Borges does fine work here it's hard not to imagine how much better Rendondo would handle the kinetic energy — though, in all fairness, most fill-in artists would have the same problem

Bruno's artwork is sorely missed but Burges does a fine job and the story is really ramping up! Not a panel wasted, Nightwing isn't just one of my favorite DC titles, it's just one of the best comic runs I've had the pleasure to follow monthly. Love it. Love it. Love it.

I really like Tom Taylor's nightwing series, which has been going on since Nightwing 2016 #78. Every issue clearly shows us how clean and good Dick Grayson is, but while I love the happy and almost perfect life of nightwing, the fate of the heroes is balanced with triumph and tragedy (doctor fate, batgirl year one). I think the victories in Dick's life have crushed tragedies by far, and I wish the next comics were a little darker to bring balance to that.

This arc is fun. It's a little light, but it know what it is, which is a fun, not emotionally and plot heavy arc, which resulted in some really creative issues. Like Dick Grayson is hunted, for trying to do the good thing, that's pretty much it and that's enough. It's simple, without trying to overdo itself. Like is it the definitive Nightwing arc, does it try to reinvent the character ? No and it's not trying to. It's focused on the action and this issue especially shows his relationship with Wally. It's an old school team-up, helping a friend in need, but with more modern humor and ofc less wordy, which imo results in a better experience than a lot of similar attempts. Wally is a little bland here IMO, but it's no biggie. It's a chill iss ue, feeling good issue, which is pretty much the series in general. The art is kinda a step down, it's not too bad, but it does not have the energy of Redondo, although a lot times did very similar things. more

Another fun, if light, issue from Taylor. I think Borges did a solid job filling in for Redondo, but the book was lacking a bit of it's usual touch of humor and kinetic movement that it's normal artist usually supplies. Taylor's done a great job building back the relationships between Dick and the rest of the DC universe and this issue is no exception either.

Awful dialogue, cringy humour, and nothing important happens. This issue is completely pointless. A filler issue is fine, but it’s not as if the last arc was especially heavy.
