Avengers Forever #14 makes for a solid romp overall, and following the exploits of this specific Steve Rogers variant does provide a nice change of pace, but after several issues of non-stop fighting, the fun is admittedly beginning to wane.

Avengers 1,000,000 BC provides some of the interpersonal drama and conflict that the current Avengers ongoing has been desperately needing, but does not devote enough time to expanding upon character relationships in any meaningful way. And it certainly does not succeed in making Thor's birth feel like a monumental event.

What If...?: Venom #1 doesn't exactly challenge the imagination with it's basic alternate history tale, but it does present a unique take on She-Hulk brilliantly brought to life by the artist and colorist.

Venom #252 is a delightfully funny comic and a satisfying resolution to the S.C.A.R. saga, showing that Venom and MJ having worked all of the kinks out of their partnership just yet.

After years of uncomfortable tension between teams, Avengers #21 sees Earth's mightiest heroes reconciling with the X-Men in the most heartwarming superhero tale of the year.

Avengers #23 shifts gears to the perspective of iconic anti-heroine Black Cat, whose thieving antics bring a whole new kind of showmanship and energy to this adventure.

Avengers #32 is a bumpy ride, but a wildly satisfying one nonetheless with action and adventure in spades.

Carnage #14 piles more and more complexity onto the raging street battle between Cletus Kasady and Brooklyn's own Spider-Man, but with the comic's other, more intriguing plotline put on hold, it can't help but feel like Carnage Reigns is a detour that has gone on a little too long.
