I really liked this comic, and this run. Shame it's ending with this issue.
I think Gronbekk really captured Cletus Cassidy's voice, and did a great job showing his motivation. Perez was good to really good, in places, on art.There were some innovative, if grizzly visuals. I liked Flash Thompson / Anti-Venom as a foil for Cassidsy.
I feel like this run could have been better if it wasn't messed up in the second half by a crossover with Venom that had very little to do with what had been happening in the story. I felt like the comic was co-opted to bolster Ewing's timey-whimey nonsense. More's the pity.+ Like • Comment -

It's the last issue, but it's not so much a resolution as a segue into Venom War. If that's a sin, it's a minor one at best.
I found this issue engaging, though not faultless. The art is superb; Pere Pérez delivers gore, polished characters, and imaginative layouts with equal, admirable talent.
The prose is good, driving the story steadily forward and massaging divergent narration smoothly into the scenes. (The dialogue still needs more contractions. I'll keep saying this until Torunn Grønbekk finally develops a good ear for American speech.)
The ideas and plot developments are interesting, but there's a want of logic beneath a few of them that holds this issue shy of greatness. Examples: Everybody else (Liz Alla more -

I liked this run and I'm sad to see it ending so soon, especially since its second half felt so rushed. But hopefully, the miniseries coming up manages to be a fun read as well.

Wasn't super into this ending, if you can call it that, unfortunately. I don't know why Marvel didn't just keep this going with the next few issues being Venom War tie-ins, as opposed to ending this run and continuing it in a new miniseries. Especially since Grønbekk and Pérez are both working on it.
