Avengers #30 starts the fight for the Grail as the Avengers journey to find it before Myrddin does, but the villain is two steps ahead. The comic does a solid job setting this up as a big event for the Avengers. They even get to fight some Marvel Zombies, or at least the ones left on Battleworld. However, the big reveal of Myrddins true identity will shock a few readers but not many others who probably saw it coming since his introduction. Well see how things unfold in the next issue. This issue took me by surprise. It's actually... good!?! Despite the fact this Avengers team is quite aloof and unlikable, there was some sort of hopeful heroism that drew me in - in addition to Karami's art, which is getting better with each issue. I could have done without Cyclops's psychotic X-Men team tough.

This series is just so mediocre and the constant reminders to the audience of how "great" each Avenger is has become insufferable and a bad trend that's dragged their books down post Bendis and Hickman's runs.
