The 47 Ronin is a fantastic and well researched account for one of Japan's most famous stories. Richardson and Sakai have crafted something truly special. The 47 Ronin hasn't been for everyone, but if you enjoy the storytelling it has been a great ride 4/5

47 Ronin has been nothing short of phenomenal. Richardson and Sakai retell the story with respect to the original while still offering up a fresh take. It ends with a bang.

Taylor proves he's a skilled writer and artist well beyond his years over the course of 30 odd pages. Make no mistake, this is a dark and mature book but it's something that reaches well beyond those genre labels. It's easy to see why Taylor's story got picked up by Top Cow. Get in on the ground floor of this sure to be hit.

A Voice In The Dark is a grim, gritty, and often chilling look at the dark side of human nature. This takes all the dramatics and struggle of shows like Dexter and Criminal Minds and puts it in a comic book wrapping. Taylor has really pulled readers in with the first two issues and it will be interesting to see where he takes readers from there.

A Voice in the Dark is a really dramatic and gripping story that defies labels. This is a great character series with a nice hook. It seems like we're about to dive into the recent string of murders as well as what Zoey's been doing during her 'relapse' moments.

A Voice in the Dark is still flying under a lot of people's radars, and it astounds me. This is a unique book that's well worth picking up. Taylor presents a thinking man's story full of rich characters.

A Voice In The Dark is a dramatic and heavy story that feels like a TV show in comic book form. There isn't much of The Killing Game left to play, so it will be fascinating to see where Taylor takes things.

Taylor ends his first arc in style. Things that have been built up are resolved, but a new thread is left dangling to entice readers into returning when things start back up. There are still some unanswered questions, but it looks like things are starting to become connected.

The Accelerators is a new take on a familiar genre. Porto and company present a unique story that adds some fun new twists on time travel in comics. Enough is laid out to give the reader a rough idea of what's going on, but the overall mystery will pull you in and leave you wanting more. Afterlife with Archie is the series your friends have been telling you about, and if you're not onboard already you need to be. Aguirre-Sacasa and Francavilla have combined to present an incredible story that does something fresh and incredibly exciting with the world of Archie.

Afterlife With Archie is five for five when it comes to stellar issues. The first arc ends on an interesting note and leaves you dying to see what comes next. Afterlife With Archie has passed from a surprise hit over these last few months to just an all-around solid hit.

Afterlife With Archie has been a series that has gotten a lot of people talking, but this is the issue that will have EVERYONE talking. Aguirre-Sacasa and Francavilla have begun their second arc in style, and it will be thrilling to see where it goes from here.

This review is a little more vague than usual, but it's because you deserve to go into the anthology completely fresh. Whether you've read every single issue of American Vampire or this is your first time stepping into the world, there's something here for you. I've occasionally journeyed to this corner of the Vertigo universe, but this anthology featuring a murderers' row of writers and artists make me want to go back and read it all.

Johns writes a cracking finale. He wraps up most all of the Aquaman strings left dangling over the 25 issues and special crossover event with the Justice League. It's a fitting conclusion that puts Aquaman in a good place for incoming writer Jeff Parker and really does more to establish Aquaman as a formidable hero and top tier DC hero.

If you're a big fan of Cassie, Ash, or both, you're absolutely going to love this team-up. Seely's introductions get all the set-up out of the way and it looks like it's going to be hacking and chainsaw slashing action the rest of the way.

Army of Darkness vs. Hack/Slash takes a surprising and thrilling turn that leaves you hungry for the next issue. The entire event has been handled well, but the next to last installment really kicks things up in spectacular fashion for the big finale.

Army of Darkness vs. Hack/Slash is one of those rare crossovers that gives each property equal weight and still manages to tell a well-rounded story that means something. When Ash and Cassie part ways, their adventures are going to still have meaning. This isn't a one and done thing. Seeley does a great job bringing back his series while getting a really good handle on Ash.

Ash is back and he's better than ever.

There's a pretty solid story here but everything else feels like a misstep. Niles does appear to be laying out the groundwork for what looks to be a good story. The art doesn't do much service to the written word though. The characters are spot on, but everything else could use a little polish.

Ash and the Army of Darkness is a series I desperately wanted to love. Steve Niles is a fantastic writer and the first issue showed a lot of promise and a well-constructed plot, but things just don't quite come together in the subsequent issues. There is still a lot of promise with this series and a few signs of brilliance, but it needs a really good polish. I'm not giving up just yet and I don't think you should either.

Ash and the Army of Darkness is a book that has a lot of promise, but it never seems to completely come together. Niles has written a very intriguing story that feels very faithful to the source material, but the execution has been a little clunky. Niles has really tightened things up the last few issues, but the art ends up tripping the rest of the work up.

Bad Ass is funny, irreverent, actin-packed, and totally lives up to its title. This is a rocking introduction to the character and it will be interesting to see where things go from here.

Bad Ass is a really fun story about a despicable character with no real redeemable qualities. Dead End isn't someone we should like at all, but we can't help wanting to see what he does next. We've got two issues left and I for one can't wait to see what insane development happens next.

This one is a little faster and a little more flashback heavy, but Bad Ass is still a really fun and funny story. With one issue left, it's going to be interesting to see what the final twist is.

Bad Ass has lived up to its name, but the ending sets a little funny. There is still a lot of room left to explore in this world, and hopefully we see that one day.

Snyder and Capullo live up to what they've been preaching about this new story. They go big and offer up a fresh and new take on the New 52 Batman. It pays homage to what came before and is chocked full of Easter Eggs, but it does something different. They start off strong and promise something great with this huge new storyline.

This issue deserves all the praise it will undoubtedly receive. I go as far to say this is the definitive issue for the fallout surrounding Robin's death. You have Batman and Alfred completely devastated, but carrying on because they have to. Pick this one up. Easiest time I've had giving a grade in a while.

Batman Eternal is off to a fantastic start. There are a lot of detractors who are understandably leery of a weekly series, but if this is the level of quality that we'll get for 52 straight weeks, then it's worth checking out.

If you're a Ben 10 fan you're going to get a great new adventure. If you're a casual viewer, much like myself, you'll still get enough to enjoy here. This isn't the cleanest jumping on point, but you'll be able to follow along.

Bertie Bear is a crazy, funny, witty thrill ride that you absolutely must experience for yourself. It's 99 cents. The purchase is a no brainer. There are two issues to go, and if they're anything like the first issue this series may just be one of your new favorite comics 5/5Follow @comicbtherapy

Black Dynamite is the funkiest comic out there. This is a genre book, just like the film and TV series, aimed at a more mature audience. If this kind of thing is even remotely in your wheelhouse, I think you're going to dig it. And that ain't no jive.

Black Dynamite uses this issue to settle into the story we'll be seeing for the next two issues, and it serves as a pretty good transition on the whole. With the story now defined, it looks like it's time to have some fun.

Black Dynamite gets his groove back this month. This is a really irreverent and fun series that gives Black Dynamite fans what they want. If you're predisposed to the humor, tone, and settings of things the Black Dynamite franchise plays on, you're going to love this.

If you're not up to date on Brain Boy this is a perfect time to hop in. Even if you're up to date and missed the Dark Horse Present story, pick this one up.

Everything Steve Niles touches is magic. Breath of Bones is a wonderful and emotional story that puts a little twist on events we already know. Niles and company have this scheduled for three issues, and I'm definitely coming along for the ride. 5/5Follow @comicbtherapy

Breath of Bones: A Tale of the Golem isn't an action story as it's billed to be, it's an emotional story that just happens to have some action. That's not a bad thing. The two issues prove it's actually a great thing. Things can end in three issues, but with each page you wish there was more.

Niles and Wachter have presented something incredible and will surely win many much deserved awards and accolades for the miniseries.

Buddy Cops is a laugh-a-minute rollercoaster ride that I want to get on again. I'm not sure it would work as an ongoing, but we definitely need to check back in on the duo every so often. Cosby and Shaner has a lot of fun with Buddy Cops, and so does the reader 5/5

Captain Midnight is an above average reintroduction to an old hero. The groundwork has been laid out, we know our character, and the evil is defined. There starts to be a little punch to the story near the conclusion, so it looks like all of the necessary work is done and the story can really take off. Captain Midnight definitely warrants a return trip, but it doesn't knock your socks off just yet.

A lot of exciting things are set up for future stories and it will be interesting to see where Williamson takes Captain Midnight next.

Captain Midnight starts to let us in on the secrets this month. Some of the big questions are answered but even bigger ones are raised. As we start a new section of the Captain's adventures, it looks like we're in for some thrills.

Now that the set-up is out of the way, Super Secret Crisis War really cuts loose and becomes something fun and different from a lot of other crossover event comics. If the team keeps this level up for the remainder of the miniseries, this will quickly become something you can't miss.

Super Secret Crisis War is still a bright explosion of fun, but this month feels a little more formulaic than thrilling. We're just at the hallway point, and it looks like things are getting pretty big next month, so hopefully this is just a small stumble in an otherwise great race.

Super Secret Crisis War has been just flat out fun, and this issue is no different. A giant fight with some story development makes this a smooth ride. Simonson and company are having a lot of fun, and it translates to the reader. Bring on the next round!

If you've been a fan of the characters and the universe, you'll find a lot to love with Seeley's story. If you're unfamiliar with the world, you'll have to spend a little more time making the connections. There is more than enough here to grab your attention and keep you entertained regardless of your level of knowledge. This is a fast teaser of what's to come more than anything.

Chaos is one that longtime fans of the various characters will love, but new readers will be left trying to piece together what they can about the characters and backstories. This is a fun horror series, but hopefully Seeley starts exploring the characters instead of just showing us a string of events leading up to the possible apocalypse.

Chin Music #1 is a beautiful looking book that features a story that is a complete mystery. It's not necessarily a bad book, it's just light on a few details you'd hope to get in a first issue. Niles is a great storyteller, and you can definitely see some of his trademarks in the book. It's an interesting story that I really want to learn more about 3/5

Clone #8 is continues the story and offers up a few more ideas, but it feels like more of a downbeat compared with the previous issues.

Clone is still a great story, the pacing is just too quick for this particular issue. It makes everything feel fast and frantic like it's supposed to be, but you're left wanting to see a little more of certain story segments. Overall though, it is fast, fun, and action packed.

Codename: Action is an amazing start to what promises to be a great series. Roberson brings his Mask magic to the comic about a 60s toy. This may be the best James Bond movie not about James Bond you'll ever see.

Codename Action is a great series that gives us the espionage action of James Bond with a great pulp twist.

Codename Action is an incredibly fun book with a fast and thrilling story. Roberson combines spies and pulp heroes with ease. Overall I have to say Roberson struck gold for Dynamite again.

Codename Action is firing on all cylinders this month. Roberson delivers more of the fun and sleekness of the series in a big way with #4. If the final two issues are as good as this one, the finale will be huge.

The only negative about Codename Action #5 is that it's the final issue. With jetpacks, pulp icons, and super spies, there's nothing not to love here. I hope this is only the end for now.

Cryptozoic Man is an interesting story with some cool creatures, but the story leaves you scratching your head.

There's a fine line between a deep story with complex moving parts and sheer nonsense. Cryptozoic Man straddles that line for all it's worth. It still has some moments of brilliance though. If you're a big Comic Book Men Fan (and I am strangely enough) or a fan of really, really weird monster stories this one is for you. They need someone to polish this up badly. Hopefully the last two pull things together. I'd say it's a safe bet that this one will read much better when taken as a whole.

I'm starting to understand what's going on here in the broadest of sense, but I still feel like you have to either be completely lit or hold a doctorate in philosophy if you want to completely understand this. The first two issues almost made me give up, but the third is showing promising signs for the finale.

Cryptozoic Man has been a series with a lot of squandered potential. I'm not exactly sure what happened and I read it all together several times. The final pages says "End"?" and I can only hope the answer is a loud "Yes!"

This series should easily please Dark Shadows fans. As someone whose knowledge of Dark Shadows is based on the recent movie and a few episodes of the TV show, it seems to fit in perfectly with the latter's style. There's enough her to appease the old fans and an interesting story to draw in new readers. It's a solid first issue, but it doesn't knock your socks off. There's more than enough to warrant a return trip though.

Andreyko writes another great issue that explores Barnabas Collins and his descent into madness. The story, as I said, is a bit of a slow burn but it has really been building. Dark Shadows fans new and old really have a treat with this one. There have been three solid issues, but I'm still waiting for that one big moment to give the book a little punch.

Detective Comics #19 offers enough bang to warrant the $7.99 price tag. While it doesn't feel as grand as you'd expect a 900th issue to feel, it offers more than enough extras to make it a worthy addition to your buy pile. There's a lot set up for the future of the Bat related books, so it will be interesting to see how it unfolds 4/5

As comic fans we shell out money for anniversary issues and the like all the time, but Detective Comics #27 is one you will not regret. 96 pages for the cost essentially 2 comics isn't a bad price considering everything that's included. If you're a Batman fan this is a no brainer. It's really good even if you're not a bat-maniac.

Dexter Laboratory throws you in to a new adventure with the boy-genius, but it doesn't quite knock you off your feet. There's definitely enough to warrant a return trip to the lab thanks to that ending.

Dexter's Laboratory has two issues left, and it looks like that's where things will really kick in. Fridolfs has a good handle on the characters and he's setting them up for something that could do something fresh and new. For now it's still an enjoyable read though.

Dexter's Laboratory starts to have a little more fun this month. Fridolfs has given us a story that really explores Dexter's character and what he truly thinks of his sister. The finale is coming up, and it seems to be setting itself up for something major.

Dexter's Laboratory ends on a high note. Fridolfs and company tell a nice short story about Dexter and Dee Dee and their rather complicated relationship. Fans of the original series will love the big finale.

IDW couldn't have picked a better time for dinosaurs to attack. With Pacific Rim leaving people clamoring for giant monsters attacking, Dinosaurs Attack! steps in to give us what we want. This is big 80s, cheesy, B-movie, sci-fi done right.

Dinosaurs Attack #2 is a visual feast, but the story leaves you hungry.

Dinosaurs Attack is still a fun story wrapped in a retro shell, but it could use some tuning up.

This is a guilty pleasure book. There's not a lot of meat on the bone, but what's there is fun.

Django Unchained is just as good as its movie counterpart. There is enough here to keep it from feeling like a straight movie adaption comic, though most of the story plays out the same way. Like I said above, Django Unchained #1-7 is a stellar director's cut of the film in comic book form. If you enjoyed Django Unchained, are a cinephile, or just love Tarantino films, this is well worth picking up. Tarantino proves it's worth a comic book adaptation with his love letter to western comics in the book's introduction. It's a well put together trade to boot.

Doberman #2 is a funny story that's just a bit too much on the nose when it comes to the type of stories it's parodying. The story gives way to clich and "loose cannon cop" moments, but it seems like this is just a small stumble in what appears to be a really witty and creative series.

This comic is like Doberman himself, a little rough around the edges but still pretty cool. This is a weird, wacky, and often hilarious comic that seems to be finding its feet fairly early on. It will be interesting to see what ol' Doberman does next.

Doc Savage may be the Man of Bronze, but his first issue packs a punch of aluminum. Chris Roberson does pulp fantastically well, but this first issue feels like a quick one-shot before things really get rolling. Some may lament the 'men standing around and talking' heavy story though they would be wrong in that assessment. That's Doc Savage and that's pulp. It's actually much deeper than 'standing around and talking' anyway. There's enough here to warrant a return with the writer and artist getting along together really well, but there needs to be a little more bite to the story.

Doc Savage is a great piece of nostalgia, but if you're not already a big fan of the good doctor you probably won't get your fancy tickled. Roberson has crafted an intriguing story but hopefully we start to see what makes Doc such a classic hero beyond just being a smart guy who shows up in time.

Doc Savage is starting to build up to be something exciting. This issue loses that one-shot feel and finally starts to break open the character of Doc Savage.

Doc Savage is really starting to come together. The series felt like a series of one-shots in the beginning, but now things are starting to tie together and carry a little more weight. Roberson has a good handle on the characters, so it's nice to see the different decades starting to bring an overarching story together.

Doc Savage promises big developments with each finale, but so far it's just continuing to build. Hopefully it all boils over and things start coming together in the final issues. It's still an enjoyable series, but Doc Savage is the Man of Bronze with a punch of copper.

Some may have tapped out earlier, but hopefully they'll come back in for the finale. Hopefully Roberson can really bring it home.

Doctor Spektor is easily the most obscure of Dynamite's Gold Key characters, but Waid and company do a brilliant job of updating the good doctor and introducing him for a new age. Waid already has a hit at Dynamite with Green Hornet, and it looks like he can soon add Doctor Spektor as well.

Doctor Spektor is crazy and a little more out there this month, but the last few pages makes it worth it all. Waid has set up an interesting story that could have huge ramifications for the rest of the new Gold Key comics.

Doctor Spektor has quickly become the most important story in the new Gold Key universe. This is a series that will likely have repercussions from here on out. This issue throws it all out there, but the duel artists take some getting used to.

These stories offer up three very different types of Doctor adventures and give you a little taste of what that time period was like.

Doctor Who Classics lives up to its name every month.

Fialkov crafts a fun story that develops at breakneck speed. It's a fun ride that gives the series some kick after a few slower paced stories. A fun story with historical elements and great art makes for an intriguing Doctor Who story 4/5

Fialkov writes a fast paced action-packed Doctor Who story that uses a fan-favorite alien menace well. I'm a hard one to please when it comes to Doctor Who comics, but I really enjoyed Fialkov's adventure. With a strong script and good art, this is one even the toughest of critics will enjoy.

The first issue of a big four part story should set things up and grab your attention so you want to come back for the rest of the story. Diggle does that and does it well. He presents a fresh story that brings a new companion in and puts her at the forefront of the action. 4/5Follow @comicbtherapy

We get the story progression we need for this large four-part story. It has a big reveal you may have been able to guess, but we get more information than action this time. It's a solid issue and seems to set up bigger things for the two remaining entries.

This is easily my favorite Doctor Who story from Andy Diggle. He puts in a ton of moments that will please longtime Whovians and wraps up his yearlong arc in style.

Dead Man's Hand looks to be an incredibly fun and intriguing story mixing a lot of things that make Doctor Who so great.

This is good ol' Doctor Who at its finest.

Tony Lee pulls off a great story with a stellar 50th Anniversary Easter egg or two to boot. Dead Man's Hand has been a thrilling adventure and it looks like things are going to end with a bang. Tony Lee is a man who always gives fans' what they want.

Tony Lee caps off a stellar Doctor Who run in style. He brings things full circle and brings the IDW chapter of Who to a close while still offering a great end to his four-part story. The writer's final two pages contains a fitting speech from The Doctor about the story and it makes you realize only Tony Lee, the man who delivered some of the best IDW Doctor Who stories in the six year run, could end things in such a manner.

As a huge 2nd Doctor fan, this doesn't quite feel like a Troughton adventure. It's a fun ride, but it feels like an average story and not the huge event it should be. With Jaime relegated to a second string character, everything just feels off. The Tiptons have 9 more Doctors to go, so hopefully the others get their due diligence 3/5

I may be a hard reviewer to please when it comes to the Prisoners of Time, but this issue more than does what it should. It's a great adventure that feels like it belongs on the TV screen. The Fourth Doctor and Leela are captured perfectly. If the last eight issues are like this one, then this will turn out to be a truly epic celebration.

The Tiptons give readers a lesson of why the 6th Doctor dominated in comics. A combination of a strong script and art from the legendary John Ridgway make Prisoners in Time #6 and absolute must get. All of my previous gripes about the companions are wiped away as Peri and Frobisher get their fair share of the action. Prisoners of Time shows why Doctor Who makes for a fantastic comic.

Seeing all the classic Doctor's get their time to shine in new stories is absolutely thrilling. It is getting a big formulaic. The Sixth Doctor story broke the cycle, but it starts back up with Seven. It will be interesting to see if the final few Doctors break the chain and start making heads or tails of the larger mystery.

The Tipton's present a great "lost adventure" for the 8th Doctor that really lays more groundwork for the big reveal to come.

Prisoners of Time finally reveals the mysterious villain behind the whole thing, and it does not disappoint.

This is the issue we've been waiting for. The Doctor has pieced everything together and he has found his companions. Whether he can save them or not remains to be seen.

Prisoners of Time has been a rocky ride, but it finishes in a fun fashion. It gives you what you wanted and what you expected, but it also wraps up a really intriguing story by bringing back Adam. It hasn't been consistent and it ends in a bit of a rush, but it has had some great art.

Doctor Who The Tenth Doctor #2 is a solid Doctor Who story that fans should find plenty of things to love within. There's something about it that feels slightly odd, but it may just be the newness of it all. The Doctor is back, and it will be exciting to see where Abadzis and company take us now that the threat is defined.

Corben crafts a spooky story that may just top the Poe original. With a combination story that fits together seamlessly and some creepy artwork, this is one for Poe fans new and old. Corben has done something unique, so it will be interesting to see how the last part pays off 4/5

Corben's House of Usher was a good story, but it feels like it should have just been collected into one book. The finale happens rather quickly and doesn't feel like a full meal. It will benefit greatly if you read it all at once.

Edison Rex is a story of big ideas packaged in a beautiful and fun box. Roberson makes something completely fresh by crafting a story out of very familiar ideas and character types. Issue 7 comes out today, so pick up the trade so you can hop on board. 4.5/5Follow @comicbtherapy

Five Weapons is a one of the most fun books I've read in a while. Robinson has created a world with some familiar elements that he really gets to play around with. It's really an all-ages read that both adults and younger readers will enjoy 5/5

Five Weapons is a story with a lot of heart and a lot more action. It's something fresh and different, and luckily it looks like we might be getting some more. Robinson will have a lot to live up to with whatever comes next, but I think he's up for the challenge.

Flash Gordon #1 is just a flat-out great comic. Parker, Shaner, and Bellaire hit the ground running and offer up a great taste of what's in store from here on out.

Flash Gordon is just flat-out fun. Parker and company's sense of fun and excitement at making this book really rubs off on the reader and makes the entire experience a true joy. In a world of grim and gritty comics and remakes, it's nice to have a comic that's so unapologetically fun.

Flash Gordon continues to be a series you cannot miss.

Flash Gordon continues to please on all fronts. Parker and company take things back down a notch to allow for some straight space faring intrigue, but things are continuing to build in the fight against Ming. Unsurprisingly, the next leg of Gordon's journey is off to a great start.

Frankenstein Alive, Alive is a story fans of the dark and grim will love, though it may take some time to get your fix. Whether you hold off and wait until it's complete, or read it whenever it comes out, this is one series that demands your attention. The third time took a while, but it's still a charm.

Furious explores some deep themes under the disguise of a superhero story. There's enough new ground tread in the debut issue to make sure you return.

Gate-Way is a comic that just happens. There's no real emotion to it and we never connect to the main characters. It has an interesting premise and starts to lay out an intriguing story, but there's no real punch to any of it. This is slated as a mini-series, so maybe the best is yet to come.

Mass Hysteria is shaping up to be one of the best Ghostbusters stories yet. We're in the anniversary year and there's talk of Ghostbusters 3 happening, but this is the thing you should be checking out. Next month will have a lot of people talking. I guarantee it.

Godzilla Cataclysm sets up a very interesting story with what looks to be an impressive roster of monsters. The first issue isn't quite a knock-out punch, but it provides just enough to whet the appetite and demand your attention when issue #2 rolls around.

Godzilla really lets loose this month. Bunn, Wachter, and Mowry give us want we want and a little more. The first issue was a nice enough teaser, but the second outing is where things really get going in big and exciting ways.

All of reader's doubts about a new creative team should be laid to rest with the first issue. It's not a completely perfect issue, but it is definitely a home run. Geoff Johns reinvented the wheel when it came to GL, but it looks like Venditti is a suitable heir to the throne"or power ring as it were.

If you're a fan of grindhouse cinema, Quentin Tarantino, and everything else you can lump into that group this one is for you.

Half Past Danger is all the way past amazing. Mooney knocks it out of the park with his first writing effort. The story is good and sets things up well, but the art sets it over the top. This series definitely has my attention and it should have yours as well. 5/5Follow @comicbtherapy

Half Past Danger is one of the most fun comics you will read. It's a WWII movie with a dash of Indiana Jones and the budget and action of a Michael Bay film (that should be taken as a compliment in this instance). Mooney hooked readers in with issue one, and it's been a nonstop joy ride ever since.

Half Past Danger has quickly become one of my favorite comics. There are two issues left, but I don't want it to end. Go out and pick up Half Past Danger now and thank me later.

Halo: Initiation #1 is a great introduction to a story a lot of fans have been waiting to see. The story about the Spartan-IV program leading up to Halo 4 is a fantastic story for Dark Horse to tell in their first Halo comic book installment. If you're a hardcore fan or just an average gamer, you'll love Initiation.

Indestructible is a witty, unique, and often hilarious take on fame and what a hero really is. This is a story where a character in odd circumstances enters into an even odder world. There's a lot here to like, but there is room to polish things up and expand on a few of the story's points. This one warrants a return for sure.

Indestructible explores the world of superheroes in a fresh and interesting way. There's a super villain plot in play but it's not quite clear yet. Greg's story is really enjoyable, but hopefully the two narrative threads start tying together a little more closely.

Indestructible has been a fun series, but this issue is where things really start to click. With some comedy, action, and really weighty character work, there's a lot to like here. The explosive finale will make you anxious for what comes next too.

Indestructible is still a fun and enjoyable series, but some of the themes and story elements are continually hit upon a little too hard to remind you how crazy the whole thing is. It seems this issue serves as a pivot, so I expect we'll be back to brass tacks soon.

Indestructible is still beating you over the head with one or two themes and story points, but Kristensen starts to attack things from a different, and refreshing, angle. With a new writer and artist onboard, this is very much an adjustment issue. It works well and has humor, but hopefully we start to see another side of the story soon.

Indestructible has lost a little steam, but it looks like Kristensen and company are setting something big up when it comes People's Choice Awards time. I'm not ready to give up on this series just yet, but it needs a little more kick.

Indestructible is back on track this month. Kristensen seems to answer some of the complaints laid at the series with a storyline that ups the stakes and puts Greg in a much bigger situation than he's ever had to confront before. I can't wait to see what happens next.

This review might be as big of a jumbled mess as the movie was, but the point is this graphic novel is great. If you liked the movie or was even intrigued by it, you need to pick this one up. If the movie was even a small percentage of what the novel is, it would easily be a fantastic cult film. It's rare that a tie-in book trumps the source material, but this one does it in spades. 4.5/5

Jack Kraken is a quick one-shot that brings three stories reintroducing Seeley's creation to comic book readers.

Jinnrise is a little rough, but it is promising. The first issue was explosive and quick, but the second one attempts to flesh the backstory out a little. Awan shows promise in several areas, but there is some work to be done with the script. With enough explosions to excite Michael Bay, Jinnrise may be one of the first popcorn action movies in comic book form 3/5

Jinnrise is a comic with a great concept and a huge amount of potential. There are improvements with each issue, but the script really needs to be tightened up. Awan has some great ideas, and hopefully Hartman on script assist and the editor can help make sure everything is reigned in and streamlined. I love the art and the story is good, it just needs to sand the rough edges 2.5/5

The Dark Judges have finally arrived, and now we get to say hello. This issue gives us the thumbnail sketch of the characters, and now Swierczynski can let them loose.

Swierczynski and company have started to lay out one of the most exciting Dredd stories yet with American Way of Death. Things are dark, gritty, serious, and violent. You don't get much better than that when it comes to Dredd.

The American Way of Death shows no signs of letting up. With only one installment left, Dredd and company are in for the biggest fight of their lives.

An America Way Of Death is a story full of big ideas, and they don't all run their course in the finale. While this issue says it's the conclusion, hopefully we get some follow-up. There are more Dark Judges now, and they need their chance to shine.

Judge Dredd #21 offers up a story that answers a few questions from last month and does it in incredible style. Pierce's Judge Death is worth the price of admission alone. Hopefully we see a lot more of the Dark Judges and Pierce bringing their nefarious adventures to life.

Judge Dredd keeps the Dark Judges story going with an intriguing new arc that raises the stakes all around. Judge Death and the other Dark Judges are down, but they're not out. It will be exciting to see what Swierczynski and company throw at us next.

Smith and Critchlow get Judge Anderson's solo adventures off to a great start. If you've been enjoying IDW's Judge Dredd but want something with a slightly different flavor, this is definitely one to check out.

It's easy to see why this story makes it into all "essential Judge Dredd" lists. It's a fantastic and action-packed prologue that shows Dredd at his best. Yes, he blasts away bad guys and scowls, but he also fights hard to save his city and ultimately serve justice.

Judge Dredd Classics is quintessential Judge Dredd purchase. Even if you've read these stories, with Kirchoff's amazing color work you'll see them in an entirely new light. Judge Dredd has gotten a lot of attention since his latest movie, and IDW is giving fans a great selection of comics to continue his adventures.

Whether you've been with Judge Dredd since the beginning or just recently, this is one you absolutely have to pick up.

I say once more, this book is called Judge Dredd Classics for a reason.

Judge Dredd Mega-City Two is a great start to what looks to be a great Dredd story. It's odd, it's flashy, and it has a really meaty story. This is one you should definitely pay attention to.

This is a bizarre story that puts Dredd in some new situations. A strong story mixed with some stellar art makes this one you don't want to miss.

Judge Dredd Mega-City Two is like no other Dredd story out there, and you can't help but love it. With only a few more issues to go, it will be interesting to see where Wolk and company take Dredd next.

Judge Dredd Mega-City Two offers up its most outrageous story yet. This is a different type of Dredd book, and this issue shows why more than any other. With one installment left, it will be incredibly interesting to see how Wolk and company put a bow on it.

Hopefully we see more of Wolk and Farinas in the Judge Dredd world. They got in and told a quick, entertaining, and funny Dredd story that shows a different side of Mega-City One's best Judge. The team leaves you wanting more, and that's actually a good thing in this case.

This is the best Judge Dredd story I've read in some time. You get all the stuff you'd expect in a Year One story, but you also get an amazing action-packed Judge Dredd story. Smith has truly outdone himself with this one. I take back my doubts about this one from last month. 5/5

Judge Dredd: Year One proves yet again it's a pure, unadulterated Judge Dredd story. You get your Year One elements, but overall it's a great story featuring everyone's scowling lawman. Smith and company have offered up a great new look at Dredd. They've laid out a lot of things and it will be interesting to see how they wrap it up next time.

Judge Dredd: Year One is a great Dredd story, let alone a Year One story. If you're a new Dredd fan or a longtime reader, there's something here for you. In four issues you get a top notch Dredd story that describes the character perfectly and his motivations completely.

Jupiter's Legacy lives up to the hype and then some. Frank Millar and Frank Quitely have made a mature story populated with interesting characters. Millar has crafted a great first issue populated with some of his signature touches. Jupiter's Legacy #1 sets up the tone of the series mostly, so it's hard to judge it just by itself. It's safe to say that it looks like Jupiter's Legacy will be one you have to read 5/5

Jupiter's Legacy #1 blow the doors off, but #2 takes it down several notches. It's still a solid and enjoyable story, it just feels more like a soap opera than exploration of the big ideas presented in the debut issue.

Justice, Inc. is off to a great start. Uslan excels at making big, explosive, and fun pulp stories dripping with nostalgia and pop culture, and it looks to be paying off so far. This is one fans will definitely want to jump aboard.

Trinity War featured a lot of stuff going on, but not a lot happening. Johns presents more action and adventure in the finale than the entire series has had as a whole. The Trinity War started off strong, stayed pretty solid, and finished decently. You do feel like it's just set-up for what's next, but at least what's next looks interesting. The story is good, but the issue earns its score mainly for the art.

Kings Watch #1 is a great appetizer for the main course to come.

Kings Watch is a thrilling read.

Kings Watch is a crossover event done right. Parker has crafted a great story that lets us know who the characters are, gives them all something to do, and presents a thrilling story. There's not a lot you can knock with this one.

Kings Watch delivers on all fronts. There's only one problem with Parker and Laming's story- it's only five issues long. Dynamite does pulp well, but these three heroes are a whole new ballgame. The wait for the finale is going to be unbearable.

Kings Watch goes out on an incredibly high note. Parker has updated the cast of characters and left them in a fantastic place for future stories. Hopefully this isn't the last we've seen of The Phantom and Mandrake. Parker is already working with Flash Gordon, so hopefully his new compatriots aren't far behind.

KISS Kids #1 is an all-ages book that rocks

KISS Kids proves it is more than a one-hit wonder.

KISS Kids is still a fantastic series, but it doesn't quite live up to the Halloween label it has been given.

Hold up your lighters and start chanting 'encore,' KISS Kids goes out on a high note. Ryall and Waltz have pulled off one of a true all-ages feat with this one.

Knightingail is a fun fantasy series suitable for families and kids of all-ages. It feels geared toward the younger audience, but there's a lot for fantasy fans to enjoy as well. The first issue of the next installment doesn't quite hit as hard as the first issue of a new chapter should, but there's enough here to warrant a return trip 3.5/5

Knightingail is off to a strong start on what looks to be a great story. Last time we saw the group come together, and now we're seeing them tested. It was easy to be a group when things started to look up, but now that they're getting ready to go through dark times can they stay together? Lady Rawhide is a great new introduction to the character. Trautmann gets all the essential first issue things out of the way and sets up a story with a lot of potential.

Lady Rawhide is a good western story that will please longtime fans and serve as a good entry point for newcomers. These three issues have been building and building, so hopefully the final two really knock our socks off.

Eisner's stories are personal and touching. The man was a true master at the comic form, and he shows it here. The only complaint that can be leveled at the book is its brevity. Eisner is a story craftsman, but the stories are really short and could have been explored more at length. The art is Eisner's usual style. The almost cartoon looking characters help show the contrast between regular people and the hellish war they are fighting. If you're a history buff or an Eisner fan it is well worth the read 4/5

Legenderry lives up to its title. I'm not a big fan of steampunk, but I found myself completely encapsulated by the world and designs. If you're a Green Hornet fan then this one takes on an even greater level of excitement. Willingham is truly a master of his craft, and his style of handing the story off to different iconic characters is working well so far. First we had Vampirella, this month we get the Green Hornet, and next month's character looks like it's going to be a real doozy.

Legenderry is a fun adventure that people with even the scantiest of knowledge about the various characters getting the steampunk treatment can enjoy. It's a fun story that still has a very gripping mystery at the center of it. We get a good clue as to where next month's story takes place, and I for one can't wait.

Legenderry has been a fun series that lets Willingham do what he does best, and issue #6 has a lot of fun moments, but it misses some of the flash and bang you'd expect from the issue leading up to the finale. All signs point to a massive ending, so it seems like Willingham will definitely stick the landing.

Legends of Red Sonja helps to expand the adventures of our favorite warrior in a new and exciting way. This is kind of a hybrid mini-series/anthology book that lays things out in an inventive style. If you're enjoying Simone's regular Sonja series, picking this up is a required purchase.

Red Sonja is still an enjoyable anthology story giving us different people's perspective on our heroine, but this issue doesn't seem to mesh together as well as others. There's still a great overarching story in play and I can't wait to see how it plays out.

Legends of Red Sonja continues to please. This issue really clicks together on all fronts and presents one of the strongest issues yet. The ending promises the ultimate showdown next month, and I can't wait to see how Sonja deals with the remaining Grey Riders.

Red Sonja pulls off a truly grand finale. A lot of times anthology stories like this have an ending that feels like a cop-out, but Simone and company give us a truly satisfying ending that is able to pull off a surprise. We learn what the true legend of Red Sonja is, and it's something we don't always think about when we're talking about the She-Devil with a sword.

If you're a big Battlestar Galactica fan, you'll really enjoy seeing things play out as a Li'L adventure. It's a little too fast, but there's a lot here to like.

Li'L Bionic Kids is a fun, funny, and quick read that Bionic fans new and old will enjoy. They go by a little too quick, but they make for a great one-shot story.

Red Sonja is a hard character to adapt to a kid-friendly medium, but Zub pulls it off rather well. Sonja's hard edges are smoothed down and given a comedic edge, but you can easily see this character growing up to become the red she-devil with a sword.

You have to respect a publisher's attempt to make a comic accessible to all age of readers, even more so when it's a really great story. Li'L Vampi delivers on all fronts. If you've been enjoying a lot of the more off-kilter all-ages comics out there lately, this is definitely one you need to pick up.

Little Nemo Returns To Slumberland in incredible style. Shanower and company hit the ground running and live up to the buzz this series has been getting the last few months. They've also set a gold standard they'll have to live up to for what will have to come next. This is one series you're going to want to check out.

The Lone Ranger serves up another great western story. The one-shot approach gives the title a chance to do something different and fresh. Parks and Polls offer a great piece on Tonto and the results of a choice he made a long time ago 4/5

Ande Parks always pulls off solid western stories. This one is a great story that feels a lot like a one-shot. You really see the Lone Ranger stripped down and we get to see how he really is a hero even more than he is a great shot with a pistol.

Lords of Mars has a lot of potential and it's a pretty good story. With a big crossover of two such icons, you expect a little more punch to it.

Lords of Mars is a little slow to start, but when it gets going it does things well. With a crossover with as much potential as John Carter and Tarzan has, it will be exciting to see things reach another gear and really get into the meat of the story. Hopefully with two of six issue released, the setup is out of the way and the John Carter and Tarzan can come face to face.

The buildup is good and very consistent with Burroughs' stories, but hopefully the wheels start turning a little faster next month.

Lords of Mars really picks up this month, but there are still a few story points that need to be ironed out. John Carter and Tarzan are finally on the page together and that's great. Lords of Mars has been a rough ride but it looks to have a fun finish.

Lords of Mars comes to an end that isn't quite an end this month. There are still numerous questions left unanswered and we're still craving some action with Tarzan and John Carter fighting side by side. Lords of Mars is an enjoyable series, it just feels a little unevenly paced. John Carter and Tarzan may continue their adventures on Mars, but I'm heading back to Earth for now.

Lee and Zlotoff have done something very few do well, adapt a TV show to the comic book medium. The two are able to adapt a very visually driven show and make it work as a comic. MacGyver still"well, MacGyver's up inventions out of household items to get out of jams, which I didn't think would translate to the page. They pulled it off, and hopefully come back for more 4/5

If you're enjoying the main Magnus Robot Fighter story, you're going to love this issue. Fred Van Lente and company offer up a story that bridges the gap between two issues while offering up a surprising amount of answers and additional details that really fleshes things out.

Magnus Robot Fighter is a knock-out punch. The first issue reintroduces the character well and sets up what looks to be a very thrilling story. So far Dynamite is two for two. Gold Key is back, and it may just be better than ever.

Magnus Robot Fighter #2 is starting to set some really big things up, so it will be interesting to see where Van Lente and company go.

Magnus is a good series and it's getting better every month. We're starting to see some of the larger things in play here, and it appears that Fred Van Lente and company are taking Magnus in a great direction.

Magnus continues to punch hard. Van Lente and company have been building up Magnus and it now looks like we're starting to get into the real meat of the story. Some pieces are starting to fall into place, but there are still plenty of questions that will keep you coming back for more.

Manifest Destiny is one of the strongest debut issues I've seen in a good while. Dingess sets things up and then has the payoff come in the final few pages. Things look to be going in an interesting new direction. If you're a fan of the genre, you're going to love this one.

Manifest Destiny is a hit. The first issue set things up nicely, but the second issue puts the pedal to the metal. Historical fiction is a hard sale, but this is one book that is getting everything right so far.

It is way too early to start making best comics of the year lists, but we can safely put Manifest Destiny on the contenders list at least. As a history buff and a lover of all things weird, kooky, and slightly off kilter, I can't recommend Manifest Destiny enough.

Manifest Destiny continues to please. The story is excellent, but the art and coloring truly astounds. It's rare that all elements click so well into place this early in a run, but Manifest Destiny does it. This is a series that's delivering in the here and now but it also has a huge amount of potential.

Manifest Destiny is five for five right now. Rarely does a series start so strong out of the gate and continue to keep up the same level of quality.

Manifest Destiny ends chapter one on an incredible high and sets up some interesting things for the future. Month in and month out I give this book my highest of recommendations, and Dingess and company continue to deliver.

Manifest Destiny adjusts course and heads out into another new and unexplored piece of territory. The land was deadly, but the river may be worse. We'll have to keep reading to find out, but I don't think anyone is jumping overboard yet.

Classics Obliterated is a great idea that ends up turning into more of a light snack than a full meal.

Mars Attack Judge Dredd is a fun and enjoyable read that brings laughs and plenty of action.

Mars Attack Judge Dredd is just a flat out fun book. Things are really going to get going in the finale, but the trip to the conclusions have been an interesting one.

Ryall and Kieth trick you into thinking this is a Mars Attack story. It is a Mars Attack story in the strictest sense, but it's so much more. Those two men don't do simple. You're going to want to pay attention to this series.

Mars Attacks First Born is a different kind of Mars Attacks story. Ryall and Kieth have a very unique style when they get together, and it's working really well with this one. With two issues left to go, it will be interesting to see where they take this next.

First Born continues to be the Mars Attack story you never knew you wanted. By taking a different perspective to the invasions and making it a little closer to home than we're used to seeing, Ryall and Kieth have crafted a story that shows Mars Attacks can be more than slapstick little aliens who love destruction.

Mars Attacks First Born is a successful experiment in storytelling and expectations when it comes to the Mars Attacks property. Ryall and Kieth work magic together and this is another fantastic feather in that collaborative cap.

Masks continues to amaze. There's a lot that could seem gimmicky and cheesy about a pulp hero team-up, but Robinson has crafted a brilliant story. Calero offers up his best work for the halfway point and gives me high hopes for the remainder of the event. You cannot miss Masks 5/5

Masks continues to impress. We get a lot of progression storywise with this issue, so it will be interesting to see how Roberson uses the last three issues to tie a bow on it. If you've not been reading this one, you're doing yourself a great disservice 4.5/5

Masks #6 is an example of a really good story being taken down a few pegs by some odd art choices. I'm a Calero fan, I really am, but this issue just doesn't work for me. Roberson has done some amazing things with these characters, so you still get more than your money's worth. 3.5/5

I've said it 6 other times already- Masks is a great miniseries and you should be reading it. The story has been rock solid for 7 issues now. The Victories is an adult take on a story that would otherwise be a shiny, kid-friendly tale featuring younger superheroes. Oeming offers up something different and gritty that's worth checking out for the change of pace alone. The first issue was a rough start, but the story as a whole is great. I was wrong. Williams crafts a fresh, yet mature, origin story for Miss Fury. There are more questions than answers, but there's enough here to entice you to come back. With an interesting story and great art, Miss Fury is one older readers need to keep an eye on 3.5/5

Miss Fury proves yet again it is a crazy and wild comic that pulls off the unexpected. The Miss Fury flavor is there, but this is a big sci-fi, time traveling story that uses the pulp setting of the character's origins. Williams has laid out some really wild things, and he's starting to polish them up now.

Miss Fury is a bold, new take on a classic pulp heroine. The story offers up big ideas and questions, and we're finally starting to see some answers.

Williams started out with a slightly confusing, but entertaining story hopping back and forth through time and closes it out by flipping over all of his cards and explaining how things played out.

The new arc starts things off in a nice direction that will put Miss Fury to the test, not only physically but emotionally as well.

Miss Fury is really firing on all cylinders now. The story is taken to the next level and it seems like our heroine is getting closer to completing her ultimate goal.

This is a more action-oriented look at Miss Fury, but all the time hopping and questions about the character's mental health makes for a confusing chain of events at time. Williams is starting to pull things together in the main title, so it will be interesting to see how the next installment of the digital series goes along with that or continues on its own course.

Monster Motors is a one-shot, but hopefully IDW decides to extend the warranty on this shiny new car. Lynch and company give classic characters an interesting twist that makes for a surprisingly good read.

Mr. Peabody and Sherman is another lovely feather in IDW's all-ages hat. The publisher has had hit after hit in their newly launched comic series and this one is no exception. Fisch keeps things light and fun. If the upcoming movie is half as good and fun as this comic, we're in for a real treat.

Mr. Peabody and Sherman is a fast and funny all-ages book. The younger kids will enjoy it and the adults will find a joke or two aimed at them as they read along. You can tell how this one is setting things up and trying to reintroduce the characters to a new audience since the movie is coming up, and it does that pretty well.

Multiplayer has a lot of nods to some popular video games that hardcore gamers will eat up. There's a lot laid out in the debut issue and several characters are quickly moved into place. It's an interesting story. There are some bumps in the road, but it will be interesting to see how things unfold now that all the introductions are out of the way. 3/5Follow @comicbtherapy

This is a big 54 page finale that delivers on all fronts. Myth has been a solid series, but this one throws everything it's got onto the page. There's a definite beginning, middle, and end, but there's still room for exploration and I hope we get more someday.

Never Ending has an intriguing premise and starts to gain a little steam in the final few pages, but it's a pretty average story for the most part. Immortality and a hero looking for an end is common fare, so hopefully Never Ending starts to amp things up in the remaining two issues. There's enough here to warrant a return though.

Never Ending is a story with a really interesting premise and a good story to tell with real emotion, but the execution isn't quite there. This may be one that reads much better when taken as a whole, so we'll know for sure next month. For now Never Ending is a missed opportunity to do something unique.

Number 13 is a great story that gets down to basics quickly.

Ordinary does not live up to its title. This is a big book with a lot of ideas all rolled up into one story that combines to make a book that is anything but ordinary. Williams and D'Israeli have something really good on their hands, and hopefully they keep the momentum going for the big finale.

Ordinary #3 ends on a high note. Williams and D'Israeli have used three issues to tell an extraordinarily fleshed out and expansive story in a relatively short amount of time. There is room for more exploration in this world, and it would be nice to see more, but this could easily serve as an actual end. No matter which route is taken, Ordinary is something special.

Outcast is off to an interesting start, but it hasn't completely broken out from the crowd when it comes to possession/exorcism stories. Forty-four pages for $2.99 is nothing to scoff at, and Kirkman likes to build things over a few issues, so this is one to definitely check out.

Powerpuff Girls #1 is a fantastic trip down memory lane.

Little is two for two when it comes to the Powerpuff Girls. So far IDW has let loose Powerpuff Girls and Samurai Jack, and they're both fantastic. We get a fun adventure, but something big is set up with the second issue. You don't want to miss it.

The Powerpuff Girls continues to prove itself a worthy adaptation. Little has a real handle on the various characters and has laid out an interesting situation for MoJo JoJo and the girls. Hopefully we see a little more of Him's plan at work next month.

The Powerpuff Girls continues to be an all-ages smash-hit. This issue feels like a finale in a lot of ways, but there is still one important thing left to reveal. This is a great issue that wraps up a lot of story elements, but now I'm anxious to see what happens with MoJo JoJo.

Little ends his story in style. MoJo JoJo is finally brought to the forefront and his game is brought to the light and explained. Little has really set the girls up and left things in a good place for the start of the next story arc.

Charm throws the Girls up against a huge threat for once. Most of the time they fly in, throw a few punches, clean up the city, and then the day is saved. This is a little more complex and tougher mission. Things end in an interesting place that leaves you eager to see what comes next.

The Monster Isle story is a fun and fast-paced adventure that gives us a new twist on the Powerpuff Girls. Usually one monster attacks, the girls fight, the day is saved. This time we see all the monsters attack, the girls fight, they give up, and then everything else happens. Hopefully Charm takes another trip to Townsville soon.

Powerpuff Girls #9 is an all-ages comic that skews a little more toward the grownups this month with its jokes and gags, and it makes for a hilarious issue that you definitely need to check out.

The Powerpuff Girls are bigger than ever when it comes to comics, so if you're enjoying the current stories then you should definitely dive back into the past material. This is a 140 plus pages of shorts featuring Blossom, Bubbles, Buttercup and their expansive rogues gallery, so there's a lot to read and enjoy.

Simonson returns to comics in style, but the first issue of Ragnarok serves as quick set-up.

Reality Check is a great comic that's about someone who writes a mediocre comic. It's a great idea pulled off exceptionally well by Brunswick. The cover gives the game away, but the story inside makes up for the spoiled reveal. Reality Check is funny, smart, emotional, and really cool. Image has another big hit on their hands.

Simone and company craft a really fun and clever story with a lot of substance. Simone is bringing the heat with the main Sonja series, so it's nice to have a one-shot that is just flat-out fun.

This would be a great one-shot, but it being part of Simone's larger story makes it even better.

In four issues Simone has given us one of the best Red Sonja stories in recent memory.

Red Sonja is one of the most consistently great books out there. Simone has really stripped Red Sonja back down to the essentials and made a great sword and sorcery adventure. The first arc seems like it's going to wrap up with a bang, and I cannot wait.

Gail Simone has crafted a stellar first arc that deliver on all fronts.

Simone has really done wonders with Red Sonja, and this new arc seems to be no exception. This is a quick introduction for what's coming up, but some of the humor feels a little repetitive in places. The premise of the new story is great, so I can't wait to see the next leg of Sonja's journey.

Red Sonja seems more determined than ever to follow her mission to a "T," and Simone and Geovani are having some fun in the process. Things are rolling along in a nice format, but it feels like it could use a little more spice here and there.

Red Sonja continues to be a can't miss series. This new journey the She-Devil is on allows the creative team to do something new and wild each month, and so far it's paying off very well.

Red Sonja finds a way to thrill and surprise month in and month out. Simone has really ushered in a Red Sonja renaissance and it seems like this series will continue to reach new heights.

There really aren't many more great things I can say about this series. Simone and Geovani have ushered in a golden age of Red Sonja with great story after great story. Even the stories that stumble end up being better than a lot of other things out there. So yeah, this one is good too. I'll keep reading and I know you will too.

Red Team has kicked off Dynamite's crime line perfectly. We get a story with familiar elements told in a fresh and interesting way. Ennis sums things up with what's going on in the book perfectly with the no speeches rule. He tweaks the nose of other similar stories by stating the team will never start pontificating on why the criminal is starring down the barrel of a gun. Red Team #2 is another solid issue 4/5

Rocky and Bullwinkle is a solid story that will please fans and people looking for a bit of nostalgia. If you have some knowledge about the duo, you'll have a good enough time.

Rogue Troopers lets you have it with both barrels. The first issue really gets things going and peppers in the backstory and what you need to know while moving everything forward. This isn't an exposition or narrative heavy issue, but you know the world, what happened to the other Troopers, and why our main character is doing what he's doing. It checks all the first issue boxes while still giving you a great story.

Sheltered continues to be a must-read series. Brisson and Christmas make the story even scarier by the fact that this could actually happen. There isn't anything too wild or fantastical in the series. It's a more grounded approach to an apocalyptic series. That makes it something unique and well worth your time and money.

Go to Comixology and buy this right now. I've read a lot of great stories on Comixology's Submit releases, but this is easily in the top three. I usually get a lot wordier in reviews, but it's hard to talk about this without spoiling the twist. Go read it and come back and tell me how right I was. Sidekick is story we've seen done before, but Straczynski has enough differences and a heck of a cliffhanger to warrant a return trip.

Six-Gun Gorilla is a well-crafted western that just happens to have a gun-toting gorilla as the main character. If you like westerns, gorillas, crazy concepts, or just plain ol' good comics, then this is one worth checking out.

If you're liking Captain Midnight, you're going to love Skyman. Fialkov has set up an interesting character thrown into even more interesting circumstances. Dark Horse has really done something brilliant with their new superhero comics, and this one is another feather in their hat.

Skyman is a really enjoyable series that explores some really weighty issues, but things feel really accelerated to accommodate the time allotted. Fialkov really has a great handle on the character, so there's more than enough reason to come back for more.

Skyman soars to new heights this month. The crossover we've been waiting for has finally arrived, and it works really well. This is an enjoyable series but it could use another issue or two. The pacing is fast, so there isn't a lot of time to dwell on some of the softer moments that could have made for some great scenes.

Skyman could have gone on for another issue or two, but Fialkov writes a tight story that sets a lot of things up for the future. Eric Reid is a character we need to see more of and soon.

Solar Man of the Atom hits the ground running. Barbiere and company have set up a story that pulls you in and guarantees you'll come back for more. A big story with nice art makes this one to check out.

Solar Man of the Atom has an amazing opening, but it settles back in to a standard issue after that. Barbiere has an interesting take on Solar, so it will be worth sticking around for a while just to see where things are going.

Solar Man of the Atom is a better story that is undone by inconsistent art. While each artist turns in good work, the constantly changing styles feel too jarring and distracts from what's happening in the story.

This is a story designed to bridge the gap between two games, but Edmondson's style with military and Special Forces stories like this make it push against the expected boundaries. It gets going like most of these things do, but it looks like we're in for a treat from here on out.

Star Mage is a little heavy with the exposition and plot this month, but the world seems fully formed now so it could be time for the team to really let loose. There's a lot of potential with this series, so hopefully the next three issues really start to mine some of the big ideas laid out.

Star Mage has crafted a very well thought out universe with interesting creatures and characters, but it gets slightly bogged down in exposition and history. With two issues left, it seems things are kicking into high gear. This is one that you don't want to give up on just yet.

Star Mage seems to be gearing up for a truly grand finale. It may have taken a little time to find its feet, but Star Mage has gotten back into the groove that made the first issue so promising.

Star Mage is one the younger crowd will love, but there are a few more kinks that could be ironed out to fully realize all the potential the team have been showing over the course of 6 issues. This is a fun and imaginative freshman tale that hopefully leads to bigger things during the next arc.

Star Trek #19 is another great character piece that gives us a look at another member of the Enterprise. The one-shot stories have all been of the highest quality, and #19 is no different. Even if you're not the biggest Star Trek fan, you'll find a fantastic story in its own right. Like I said before, IDW is making me become something of a Star Trek fan myself 5/5

City on the Edge of Tomorrow is the comic Star Trek fans have been waiting for. From here on out we're in fresh territory. Fans have been wanting to see what the original screenplay would look like, and thanks to the Tiptons and Woodward's realistic art, we're getting as close as possible to finally seeing it play out.

Countdown to Darkness has been a solid Star Trek book, but it doesn't feel like we're getting hints and clues about the movie it's promoting. You do have to give it credit for being a story accessible to all audiences while still giving nods to longtime fans of the series. With things in place now, hopefully Countdown to Darkness can kick it into high gear 3.5/5

Star Trek Countdown To Darkness ends on a high note. I thought it started off a little slow, but now that it's all said and done it turned out to be a surprisingly good prequel. It's hard to judge it properly until the movie is released, but IDW has delivered the rare prequel to a movie comic.

The first entry in the Khan miniseries plays it safe.

So far Khan is playing it a little too safe. The story is little more than an illustrated Wikipedia entry of how things unfolded leading up to the Khan that faced off against the crew of the Enterprise. The introductory stuff is now out of the way, so hopefully the final few issues start to present something new and different.

Khan has an interesting premise, but the execution leaves a little to be desired. Things that seem important are brushed over and explanations for some the biggest things fans were left wondering after the film don't seem to be forthcoming. If you really loved Into Darkness and want a primer guide about the character, this is still worth checking out. Hopefully the finale presents the things we've been waiting for.

The final issue of Khan is where things really start to come together. If the first four issues had been more like this, it would have been a more enjoyable series. This is a case of just enough, but too late.

Super Secret Crisis War brought Johnny Bravo back, but hopefully it wasn't for a one-off appearance. This is a nice, quick, fun tie-in, but it doesn't quite offer much more than some Johnny Bravo-ness.

Foster's Home For Imaginary Friends breaks away from the structure the other tie-ins have been following and quickly becomes one of the more solid entries for the Super Secret Crisis War so far. All the teams make a fantastic case for being the creative team for the eventual and seemingly inevitable solo series, but Cohen and Ganucheau may have risen a few places up that wish list.

Superman #32 kicks the new direction for Superman and his all-star creative team off in style. The main title for the Man of Steel has been a rollercoaster ride in the New 52, but this is the much needed super kick in the pants that was needed.

Snyder and Lee lived up to the hype and then some. Superman Unchained is a great start to what looks like a big and bold story. The only drawback is the $4.99 price tag, but it's really worth it to see the innovative poster Lee has drawn. Unchained #2 has a lot to live up to.

T.H.U.N.D.E.R. Agents continues to be a fast-paced and thrilling book. Hester continues to flesh out the world and the characters of the organization, but the action and adventure of the missions keeps things from feeling slow. You should definitely check out the previous issues, but this is a pretty good jumping on point if you've been on the fence.

T.H.U.N.D.E.R. Agents goes out with a real bang. Hester and company were working the long game, but it really pays off fantastically in the end. While the last page says "The End," hopefully we haven't seen the last of The Higher United Nations Defense Enforcement Reserves.

City Fall kicks things off with a burst of adrenaline. As someone who has jumped in and out of the Turtle comic, this is one you can pick up without missing a step and still be absolutely thrilled from the beginning to the cliffhanger. City Fall is the most dramatic and tense Turtles story I've read in quite some time. The stakes are high and nobody feels safe. The story is a rollercoaster ride and there is no telling where it's going next.

City Fall has quickly become a can't miss event. It pulls off big and exciting things while still be accessible to new readers. You can hop in at the beginning of City Fall and keep up with the story. That's no small feat on the team's part considering how expansive of an event this is.

City Fall has been a spectacular event that has really shaken up the Turtles status quo. Things are changing and shifting, and the shockwaves from the fallout are going to be effecting things for a while to come. It's going to be hard top this run of issues, but I think the Turtles are in safe hands.

This is a good turning point for what comes after City Fall. This one lays out a lot of dramatic moments, but it gives you a chance to prepare for what's next. Shredder changed the Turtles physically, but now they are being challenged mentally by themselves and their family dynamic.

The new chapter of the TMNT saga gives everyone room to breathe and try to recover. There's a lot of dramatic character moments and psychological action, but neither the Turtles nor the reader is ready for another gigantic knock-down-drag-out fight just yet. It is coming though.

This is the issue where things start ramping back up again. We've had our chance to breathe, but now TMNT has put us back on our toes.

We thought this arc was giving us a chance to catch our collective breath after an explosive event, but it turns out the first few issues were just the quiet before the storm. Northampton ends with a bang and the ramifications look like they're going to play out in a big way next month.

Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles continues to be one of those books you have to pay attention to month in and month out. City Fall got a lot of people talking, but what comes next seems to be the main event.

Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles continues to be one of the most consistently impressive books out there. While this one doesn't get as plot heavy as some of the latest entries, seeing Metalhead introduced in such a big and explosive way makes this another can't miss issue.

TMNT offers up something very different and very special this month. It's a villain throw-down as we get closer to what all signs point to being a huge battle between the Turtles and Krang and/or Shredder. Waltz and company provide a nice one-off story that fits perfectly between the main event.

If you're a longtime TMNT fan or a new convert, these Color Classics offer up a good look at the series' origins in a new and exciting light"or color rather. If you want a quick one-shot Turtles adventure, this one is for you.

Turtles In Time isn't quite a knock-out punch, but it's an intriguing start to what looks to be one of the Turtles' wildest stories yet. With next month looking to be set in feudal Japan, you're definitely going to want to pay attention to this series.

Ten Grand is a comic that blends together several different genres to great effect. Straczynski and Templesmith work together perfectly. You have a fantastic story full of great character moments made even better by the otherworldly settings.

Terminal Hero looks to be a story with a lot of promise, but things unravel rather fast right out of the gate. Milligan looks to be building to a story more about what happens after the weird treatment has taken hold, so this is one well worth sticking with for a while.

The 7th Sword doesn't quite deliver a knockout punch, but it's a story with a lot of promise that guarantees you'll come back to see what happens next. If Raffo can throw in a twist to break itself out of a mold established by others, this could be something really special.

The Answer! continues to raise questions, but we're starting to get a few more of what the title is about- answers. With one issue left, it will be interesting to see how Norton and Hopeless put a bow on everything 4/5

The Answer is an absolute thrill-ride. The series had you thinking you knew what was going to happen, then it did a complete 180. Hopeless and Norton have pulled off four great issues with this series, and it will be very interesting to see where it goes next. 4.5/5

The Bionic Man Annual is a fast-paced adventure with an interesting story. As someone who is only an occasional reader of the Bionic Man title, it's pretty accessible to all readers. As with most annuals, there's a lot of good stuff but it's just a little more fast paced than you'd like 3.5/5

Buccellato has found a great angle for Black Bats new origins. He's a character that could do well with a modern twist, and so far Buccellato has succeeded. There is still a lot of mystery as to the character and the larger story, but it's still early days. At least it's a fun ride.

Black Bat #3 is another great outing in Buccellato's updated version of the Black Bat. This issue really tightens things up. It feels like we're starting to see some forward movement instead of a heavy emphasis on the origin story we saw bits and pieces of in the first outings. There's still a lot of questions left unanswered, but #3 really moves the story forward.
