Judge Dredd keeps the Dark Judges story going with an intriguing new arc that raises the stakes all around. Judge Death and the other Dark Judges are down, but they're not out. It will be exciting to see what Swierczynski and company throw at us next. Read Full Review

With that said though, everything else with this issue is right on the money. It looks like Dredd's enemies are not only from another dimension, but they are also right in front of him represented in the very legal authority that he is meant to serve with 100 percent loyalty. Things are getting tough and the future is uncertain"Or the future might be very certain, if you can rely on Anderson's psychic abilities. We shall see as the title pushes forward. Standing on its own, and in comparison with last months issue, the flaws in this issue are very noticeable. The story feels like it is trying too hard to be relevant, and is cheapening the effect of the Dark Judges by doing so. The art, while entirely serviceable, is made to seem lesser compared to the wonderful efforts shown in the previous issue. Read Full Review

It's a great opportunity for Judge Cal to rise to power, but that's about the only plus. Anyone familiar with Judge Death will notice what a castrated version this is of him. He's borderline goofy as he flails his arms dodging bullets and chasing Dredd. The Judge Dredd strips from 2000AD always offered ironic humour, but the humour here is the same type you'd get from watching the Stallone Dredd movie, in that it is just funny because it is bad.
