Coming Up Comics - David Melton
Aug 26, 2014What a great way to start the second arc. It's a complex issue that gives fans the opportunity to dive into the science fiction themes of the story while also getting the comedy they have loved getting from this series since the beginning. Parker and team are finding new ways to keep this series interesting while also making it fun for their audience. With so many emotional changes in tone, Flash Gordonis continuously finding new ways to keep its readers on their toes. One thing is for sure: this series is a lot of fun. Read Full Review

Sep 01, 2014Shaner builds more into the universe around Gordon, Arden and Zarkov as he introduces the Skyrens, the Hawkmen and many other inhabitants of Sky World. "Flash Gordon" #5 provides plenty of breathtaking moments, despite some hiccups, and continues to offer fun, exciting science fiction adventures without burdensome crossovers or oppressive backstory. Parker, Shaner, Jarrell, Case, Bellaire, Bowland and Cosby (with Laming on covers) are presenting a sparkling homage to a beloved character. This may not be the strongest of issues, technically, but it is certainly a fun read that gives fans plenty of the good stuff only comic books can deliver, from unlimited special effects to mind-numbing comic science.
