Great art. But I just don't like the story. The cop shootout last issue gets a flashback where we see a youth recording it on a smart phone. During the issue, we see him him go to a guy at a diner who is a newspaper reporter. It seems the kid also recorded Vandal planting a batarang to frame Batman.
We see Bruce try to visit Tim in the hospital, but he is intercepted by Bernard, who po

Batman #3
Vandal Savage makes his move against Batman and Robin, Bruce Wayne tries to make amends, and the Riddler makes his play for arguably the most important item in all of Gotham. Fraction and Jiménez take things to a whole new level as their thrilling new run on Batman continues!
This was terrible. There is a laundry list of inconsistencies that make it seem like DC/ Lemire are ignorant of the JSA's history and these characters in their early years. If you know, you know. If you don't you probably didn't catch them. There's nothing worse than feeling like you know more about the characters than the writer and editor on a book.
Feels like they are just going

No, this is actually a valid review rating. I feel like this book was written by high school students. No creativity found here anywhere.
I went into this issue hoping for something fresh and compelling, but what I found was disappointingly shallow. The writing felt overly simplistic and strangely outdated-not in a nostalgic or intentional way, but more like something pulled straight from a half-hearted script from the 1950s, without any of the charm. The character responses to major situations lacked any real depth or originality, more

I found the art and colors very beautiful. The plot structure is very similar to the Silver Age. I liked the characterization too. I liked it overall.

The stories that Phillip Kennedy Johnson has been telling in this series have been great and this issue is no exception. It goes deeper into Bruce's mind and explores his actions. The mystery gets a little clearer in this issue and it's a surprising development. I wouldn't bet against this series. I can't recommend this enough. The relationship between Bruce and Damian is excellent and is wel more
Batman and Robin #21
Robin has been kidnapped-stolen away by Memento in a killing blow to Batman'spsyche. Now, with his body broken and his mind fractured, the Dark Knight mustfight his way through a gang war, Memento's cultists, and his own decaying mentalstate to save his son before it is too late!
This issue has a lot of solid character moments with Simon, Keli, and Guy. It's a nice balance between character and action as this issue goes to an interesting locale which provides that action. Additionally, the story touches the edges of what's going on in Green Lantern. It connects nicely while maintaining just enough separateness. The best thing about this issue is how it takes full advan more
Green Lantern Corps #4
Guy Gardner is reluctantly saddled with a new partner, but he's determined to keephim out of the way while they look for another source of Nth metal, all while SimonBaz frets over "Teen" Lantern who is showing signs of strain during the rebuildingof Oa.
A fellow space cabbie enthusiasts. Great to see! And you are right. DC needs to properly collect its golden age sci-fi.
An okay issue. Nothing impressed me, except the ending, which was a little surprising. I mean, I wasn't surprised to see Barda get captured (last issue foreshadowed as much), but the ending still managed to surprise me.
Birds of Prey #21
A new villain team, fashioned specifically to take out the Birds of Prey, has emergedin dramatic fashion. And with the Birds deliberately scattered across the globeinvestigating both real and false leads, they're more vulnerable than ever. With thestrongest of them already fallen, how can any of them survive what's coming?
If you're not giving this issue a 10, you're:
- simply out of your mind
- unable to read
- drunk or intoxicated
- in possession of an incomplete copy
- not wearing your glasses
- recovering from a bad break up or recently fired
- not a true comic book fan
Ultimate Spider-Man #16
THE SECRET ORIGIN OF MYSTERIO!
Even Kingpin knows little about the criminal in the smoky helmet...but Spider-Man's about to learn more than he bargained for!
RATED T
Yeah true, are we here for the web-slinging action and the Spider-Man/MJ drama, or just tolerating Marvel’s boldest and most iconic universe experiment? Either way, for me this is a wild ride where the emotional explosions hit almost as hard as the Green Goblin’s Pumpkin Bombs!
I would add: "disliking the lack of focus on the titular character for half of the series" as one of the main reasons why one would not give this a 10. Another one being "missing crucial conversations between main characters".
The finale of this series is nearly unreadable. The narration is still overwhelming and a distraction from any story Tom King might be trying to tell. The fight sequences attempt to glorify the violence which makes it all the more gratuitous. It's not enjoyable, it's not engaging on any level. It's a real shame King isn't capable of utilizing the existing history between Shiva and Black Canary more

The final round! With both fighters on the ropes and unwilling to surrender, the endseems as far away as Canary's past. Can she find a way to make her mother proudand still save her from her an untimely demise? Find out as the last punches land!
This is a great follow up to last month's Batman #158. The mystery expands and there is some great character work with Bruce Wayne. Loeb brings in characters that can show a different side of Batman like Leslie Thompkins and Jason Todd. He's unsure around them both and Loeb makes that part of the story. Loeb also continues to uses the pieces of the original "Hush" as he brings other character more
Batman #159
After the shocking events of the last issue, Batman must make thehardest decision of his life!Guest-starring Nightwing, Batgirl, and Red Hood!
I'm having a hard time with this so far, I think there is some promise, but hope we get it soon. I'll be putting your review on my podcast, Lunchbreak Reviews.
I think what’s working for me is the fact that it feels older. Been off Batman for a while and there’s a lot of stuff that resonates with me. I think there are some surprises coming too.
The best issue of the run so far for me.

Horrible title with Atrocious writing. Don't ever let Leah Williams writer anything involving Power Girl again DC! Good riddance.

Karen Starr has triumphantly returned to Metropolis. But there's a problem...theperson using that alias isn't Power Girl! Paige can't just stand by as this new Karengets involved in ventures and schemes she would never dream of. It's up to her toexpose this imposter before they ruin her reputation for good!
It's more wackiness with Metamorpho and crew. This issue more than any other demands the reader to just sort of go with it. And...I'm ok with that. This series has been like this all along and it provides a genuinely distinct and different approach to Super-Hero comics. It feels a bit like Metamorpho is drinking some of Plastic Man's milkshake, except for the fact that Plastic Man isn't even a more

This issue produced two jaw drops, one of 2 minutes and one of thirty seconds as well as a fist pump and "hell yeah" followed by a genuine laugh out loud. What an issue with some great surprises and appearances you just don't see coming. Jeremy Adams puts together another outstanding issue, one of the best of the series. No spoilers here, but you don't want to miss this issue. Hal's character more

I am going to try to not compare Main Wonder Woman to Absolute Wonder Woman, since that is a really weird way to say which book is better or I prefer. I like to judge each book by its own merits, and not bring another book down.
For me, Tom King's Wonder Woman feels very stiff. very awkward, very stale and formal. The dialogue is short and concise, and I understand that Wonder Woman is

Wonder Woman #20
Dark Knight of the soul! After the harrowing defeat of the Sovereign, Diana turns to Batman for help solving a murder on Mount Olympus. It's the team-up you've been waiting for...the Caped Crusader and the Amazon Princess!
There's a huge shift of gears with this issue moving past the Sovereign storyline. It doesn't mean it's any better, just different. Batman feels way out of place. Diana seems far too vengeful and quite detached in an odd sort of way. Guillem March depicts her almost as a femme fatale as she appropriates Batman for this mission to find out who killed Ares and clear Hippolyta's name. In some wa more

Jamal Campbell delivers another fun, interesting, exciting and creative issue of Zatanna. It's not simply the magical aspects, but the mysterious quality of the Lady White as well as the inventive use of Bat-characters Bruce Wayne and Basil Karlo/ Clayface. Furthermore, Campbell taps into some real emotion and there's even a surprise with one of the supporting characters. There is still the fee more

Or willshe simply break?
There's nothing wrong with revisiting "Greatest Hits" every one and a while and that's what Terra and Deathstroke bring to this issue. That coupled with some of the interpersonal subplots make this series feel more and more like the New Teen Titans than it has in a very long time. Of course, that's sort of the point, that's why people like these characters together. It's taken some growing pai more
Titans #22
He's the world's deadliest mercenary and the Titans' oldest and most dangerous en-emy. He's also dead...or at least we thought he was dead. Yeah, we're talkin' aboutSlade Wilson, Deathstroke, now back from the dead, building a new team of villains, and ready to take on the Titans. How did he do it? Find out in this can't-miss issue!
The basic premise for this Superman story is solid. Getting Clark to take Lois' assignment for the Daily Planet is a neat idea. Unfortunately, Lois and Clark don't sound right. Their interaction is awkward as doesn't feel genuine. It almost feels like a caricature. There's also a bit of disrespect towards Clark ability as a journalist which feels like a modern attempt at making him the butt o more
Action Comics #1085
Superman Superstars concludes with an unforgettable two-part story written by Poison Ivy's G. Willow Wilson and drawn by fan-favorite artist Gavin Guidry (Superman '78). Knowing he needs a break from the expectations and pressures of Metropolis, Lois sends Clark to the arctic to investigate a new technology that promises to halt global warming. But...
It didn’t do it for me either. I almost put it down 3 pages in. I can’t stand the Vandal Savage status quo and Riddler was annoying. It almost felt like a non-issue. I'm with you.
This book tries SO hard to be cutting edge. But it ends up being boring.
