Look I'm not hating on the book. I really enjoyed the issue, but I feel people are getting a bit loose with the 10 rating on this site. A 10/10 comic book is something that will have reprints of the story made for 40 years. Batman the long Halloween, the dark knight returns, born again for daredevil fans. This book was a lot of fun, but it's not a 10/10 best story of the year, or one that I'm going to re read 10 times, or a book that redefined the genre or a character. It's a 8/10 to me.

Dec 21, 2021Nightwing #87 is an enjoyable ride back into Bludhaven after a rather tedious romp back in Gotham. This issue epitomizes what the new creative team is about: great art, humor, well-rounded characterizations, and solid storytelling. Read Full Review

Dec 23, 2021Nightwing #87 is a masterpiece of storytelling. Tom Taylor, Bruno Redondo, Adrian Lucas, and everyone who worked on this comic book have to be applauded for telling such a compelling story in a unique way. Beyond the hook of a continuous spread image the story in Nightwing #87 does a great job being a jumping on point to summarize what makes Dick Grayson a great character. This is a must have for any comic book fan. Read Full Review

Dec 22, 2021The sort of experimentation in Nightwing #87 breaks up the monotony of a long-running series without necessarily upstaging the story. One of the single most memorable issues of Marvel's G.I. Joe had Lara Hama delivering a story entirely without dialogue...and it didn't detract from the overall rhythm of the series. Nightwing #87's "Get Grayson" does the same. Read Full Review

Dec 21, 2021Nighting#87 was the perfect issue to cap off the year with. It's fun, it's bright, it's a must read for anyone who claims to be a fan of comics. The creative team swung for the fences, broke the bat, and knocked it out of the park. It's the first time in a long time where I truly felt a child-like sense of wonder reading a comic. Dec 21, 2021Would I want this style or technique every time? Absolutely not. The overall progression of the narrative would go nowhere. However, if the creative team deems specific action sequences as that valuable to the comic, then so be it. Nevertheless, I dont see the need for Taylor and Redondo to have centered in on this specific element for the series for anything other than something unique and different. Ultimately, NIGHTWING #87 was charming and fun and everyone should give it a look especially from a digital angle. Let me know what you think, Merry Christmas, and God Bless! Read Full Review

Dec 21, 2021DC Comics' NIGHTWING #87 is fresh and brilliant. With their "one uninterrupted image" approach, this creative team could have made this issue seem empty and gimmicky. Dec 21, 2021Nightwing #87 is all about the art, and while some may look at it as a gimmick, I liked it. Tom Taylor sets up the stakes, and Bruno Redondo goes from there. I wouldn't say it's an essential issue, but fans of this run will undoubtedly enjoy it. Read Full Review

Dec 21, 2021Nightwing #87 makes a name for itself due to the sheer amount of technical prowess in the art courtesy of Bruno Redondo. Tom Taylor's script sets up a simple premise that allows Redondo to showcase his abilities and largely stays out of his way beyond that. The small narrative scale proves a little irksome, but fans of the series will love getting an even better sense of Bldhaven and its civilians, as well as seeing Dick save his puppy from mobsters with guns and top hats. Jan 02, 2022True, this done-in-one doesn't address the core about the threat to Nightwing's life, but it takes you on a self-contained thrill ride that will continue to engage you past the first loop de loop. This is as good of a mission statement for this overarching storyline as anything else, and you don't wanna miss one thrilling second. Read Full Review
