Clearly, the team is not satisfied with the chaos so far, and Hulk #2 shows that there is no ceiling on where this series can go. Read Full Review

What can I say about this book, other than fantastic, simply fantastic. With two titans of the industry in Donny Cates and Ryan Ottley, combining to bring their very own spin on the green goliath. And a fascinating new take on the Bruce Banner psyche, this is a book that should be on everyone's reading list. It's easily my book of the week. Marvel/Hulk fans, should rush out and pick this up straight away, you won't be disappointed! Read Full Review

But Why Tho? - William Tucker

    Jul 26, 2023

Incredible Hulk #2 is a horror comic through and through. It is difficult to find superhero elements in the story as there are few. Its scarier than Ewings run, more primal and intrinsic in how the frights are instilled. Read Full Review

Ottley delivers some amazing art in this issue. The style is perfect for this kind of mind-bending narrative and the big action scenes throughout the issue are brilliantly composed. Read Full Review

Hulk #2 gives us a bit better of an idea as to where the series is going and takes us much deeper into the sci-fi aspect of it all. There's still a lot of questions out there and it's kind of obvious as to where the series is going in some of its aspects but it feels like it's going to deliver one hell of a ride. This is a very unique take on the characters and one that definitely is keeping readers on their toes. Read Full Review

But Why Tho? - Collier "CJ" Jennings

    Dec 15, 2021

Hulk #2 continues the "Smashtronaut" arc by plunging Bruce Banner into a not-quite final frontier, complete with a whammy of a final page. Things have only gotten interesting, and I hope to see what other surprises the creators have stored aboard Starship Hulk. Read Full Review

The main storyteller in this week's HULK is no doubt Ottley who showcases his talents and expertise splendidly. However, fans jumping on this new series get very little narrative development masked by a melee of massacres. Was this story entertaining? Sure. But it doesn't do much else. Read Full Review

Final ThoughtsHulk #2 has a lot of cool action set pieces and an unexpected twist ending… and not much else. It's too early to say if this new take on Hulk is a winner or a loser after just two issues, but Cates needs to give readers something more to invest in beyond piles of questions and ultra-violence.
