I was here looking for a review, but got some Nostradamus from Temu.

If you thought Aaron, as a Marvel tool, destroyed the character, it's about to get even worse. It's not for you, and it's not for me; it's for an anti-Trump generation, those modernists who want the industry to speak their language and for the world to eternally embrace social equality. Percy is bad, as is Pepose. If he gets it right, it's only a matter of time before he becomes the same old thing, eventually becoming disinterested and sidelined like so many other series.

I respect your opinion, but Marvel didn't bring back the Punisher to commit the same mistake. I will rather wait and see how they will develop this series. This will eventually retcon what Aaron did in 2022. Now, let's hope for the best.

If you're content with just the amnesiac Frank, who (SPOILERS AHEAD) starts shooting recklessly and putting the lives of innocent people at risk until an old lady shows up and becomes, according to the issue, his new sidekick since the old Microship, adding bloodthirsty scenes from Fisk and Tombstone as a pretext to be a "violent comic book," as well as bringing Frank back in his skull uniform to later activate a kind of chip in his brain, maybe you folow this to the end.

Of course, in the end, when he overcomes this corruption in his mind, he will come with everything against these villains, but Fisk has the protection of an entire editorial, so we won't see anything serious happening to him, the kind of protection that made him knock out the Hulk easily.

I hope for something good, I just hope, maybe in Knights, by Palmiotti, but it's just a small hope that brings Frank back in a dignified way in a universe other than 616, in 616 he will no longer be the same, unless he leaves Marvel or goes to an indie for example, like Titan.

I consider myself pretty anti-woke, but I can see nothing woke about this comic - at least not in this first issue. I'm not familiar with Percy, so I'll give him the benefit of the doubt.

I got to say that the final cliffhanger, I was apprehensive. I hate when they put Frank in that "condition". But I will wait to see how they will handle this before shouting out that it's crap.

If I'm jumping the gun, I wish it were possible, but not with the predictability these books have become. The fact that The Hand solution was even considered is already something that leaves me feeling completely negative. I can't see the Punisher acting at the behest of criminals, and it's pretty clear that Fisk will be protected even as he recovers from his amnesia and gradually regains his memory.

As for Percy, I haven't read anything good from him, his Red Hulk is very boring and his stories are so red that it's impossible not to connect them to the woke.

The wokeness is evident here by simply having the character kill selected criminals on a schedule ordered by a king of organized crime. This absurdity only aims to deconstruct the character even further than he's already been deconstructed. And the violence here doesn't work, as it's meant to please woke readers, which is why Punisher 616 is being written.

Modernity aims to distort the character. He doesn't kill criminals in the service of criminals, and even if I weren't here, the reaction this caused was negative from the moment it was announced. Can you really separate the concept from the story? The cover is explicitly playing with the concept, and the fact that those are alternative "Spider-Men" matters to the story. You can't just take them out and have the same story. I also mentioned the art, that I don't like.

I guess the only aspect I left out because I wanted to keep it short and focused on my main issues, is Osborn as Spider-Man. I don't think it's a particularly great idea, but it gives us the opportunity for the cosmic Spider-Man stories drawn by Pepe Larraz, which are much more interesting to me. It's a shame that the series cannot focus on one storyline and one artist.

The term "they" has also been used for a long, long time to refer to someone of an unspecified gender. One example could be "are they a boy or a girl?" Yes, "they" can refer to multiple people as a group, but it, just like many other words, has more than one use.

The first documented use of "they" in reference to a singular noun was in the 1300s per Oxford English Dictionary. And I say people like fzanca making these reviews ought to return to tradition like the rest of us.

Pretty much my thoughts. However, I don’t hate read. I have been an X-Men fan for decades and I want these books to be good. When they are, they get good reviews from me. When they aren‘t, I call them out on the bullshit.

Absolutely. :-D Yeah, I agree about this being the worst time in X history, and I lived through the horrible early 90s and the Morrison run, which I hated too, but at least he was a real writer, not an activist. I'm at a point now where I'm actually losing my interest completely. I'm still somewhat invested in Uncanny X-Men and Storm, because they feature some of my favorite X-Men, but I'm sure the upcoming Age of Revelation will f*ck up those books as well.

Chris Claremont may agree that the X-Men didn't stand as a trans metaphor WHEN HE WAS WRITING IT. It stood for racism and persecution when Lee and Kirby started it, then was fleshed out more with Claremont. It then transitioned (scary word I know) into a metaphor for the AIDS crisis and anti-gay sentiment. The message evolves.

I didn’t say that the inclusion of minority characters is activism. I said the inclusion of this particular character is an act of activism. If you want to learn more about woke ideology and how it has infiltrated mainstream comics, the YouTube channel Thinking Critical is a great starting point.

I don’t fear going into more detail, I just don’t see a reason to explain myself, because it feels like people here are trying to manipulate me into some kind of “gotcha” situation. I’m also not primarily interested in earning anybody’s respect.

Anyway… the inclusion of Kamala Khan into the X-Men books is completely inappropriate. Although I enjoyed her first series, she has become THE character for Marvel to promote diversity and wokeness (see the NYX series for how the writers depicted her as a self-righteous, insufferable activist). What makes it even worse, is that her new status as a mutant feels completely unnatural and forced.

As if that wasn’t enough, making her the focus character of these Giant-Size issues feels completely unearned and is a slap in the face of any X-fan. If you don’t see the problem, you probably haven’t been a reader of the X-books for longer than two years.

The X-books haven’t always been a metaphor for minorities. And although I don’t mind if people interpret the stories that way, tthey should remain open to interpretation, not manifestos of DEI politics.

The X-Books have ALWAYS been a metaphor for minorities and marginalized communities. Stan Lee and Jack Kirby were Jewish. They were persecuted, their families were persecuted. They created X-Men to reflect that. You probably haven't been a reader of X-books for their entire history.

I admit, that would make a lot of sense, wouldn’t it? Unfortunately, it’s not true. Lee and Kirby came up with the mutant concept because they didn’t want to invent more origin stories. Stan Lee actually admitted that. Now, it’s true that the concept lent itself to stories about minorities and persecution for being different. However, the metaphor was still open to interpretation. They didn’t shove the indoctrination down our throats, which is what they are doing now.
