Chip Zdarksy is their best (and his Cap is just so so).
Not quite the ending I expected for this arc, but excited about what the future brings.
THUNDER WAR ENDS! Everything ends. Our universe is no exception. However, the only way the universe ends is over STORM's dead body. So be it.
Another masterfully written story. It's hard to criticize Francis Portela's art, as it is absolutely perfect, but I think it might be a little too pretty and clean for Hyde Street. I can't help but wonder what the issue would have looked like illustrated by regular artist Ivan Reis.
Doctor Victor Frankenstein has nothing on Hyde Street’s own Doctor Archibald Ego—a disgraced plastic surgeon whose malpractice scars more than flesh...it cuts into the soul. Dragged to Hyde Street in 1997, Doctor Ego now encounters an old patient lured back by unfinished business—and a thirst for revenge. But when the scalpel turns, who becom...
The art is solid this issue - it’s by C.F. Villa, not regular artists Diaz and Stegman. For some reason, the writing is also better. Several characters are having a conversation about the ethics around killing, which I found interesting. It’s hard for me to give this book a good rating though, since I dislike so many things about this incarnation of the X-Men.
THE LEAD-IN TO NEXT MONTH'S GAME-CHANGING EVENT! With Z*E*R*O on his heels, Doug Ramsey, A.K.A. REVELATION, arrives in Alaska for the X-Men's help! Beset on all sides, the X-Men could use a powerful new ally - but Revelation is not just an old friend, he's the Heir of Apocalypse! And what new age could such an alliance usher in...?
I commend Murewa Ayodele for daring to take an established character like Storm into a completely new and unexpected direction. The way he weaves the cosmic with the personal, the psychological with the mythical is truly fascinating. However, a comic author should never forget that he is writing not just for themselves but for an audience. All their grand concepts will fail if the clarity of the smore

Although I’d prefer a more realistic style for Black Cat, I did enjoy the art. However, the writing is goddamn awful. One reviewer said it’s like a bad She-Hulk comic, and I can’t believe how accurate this is.
SUPER-THIEF, SUPER…HERO?! FELICIA HARDY is the BLACK CAT, the world’s slyest and most skilled super-thief! She loves a good score. The longer the odds – the better! But her entire world turned upside down after THE AMAZING SPIDER-MAN’s battle with HELLGATE, so Felicia is turning over a new leaf as New York City’s newest…super hero?! The...
It reads like a bad she-hulk rip off. Out of character for black cat to act like a teen-ager with no experience or skill. Strange start.

THE SECRET ORIGIN OF PRINCE SALAKA! And has Battle Beast FINALLY met a worthy challenge?
Well, this was better than the first two issues, which isn’t much of an accomplishment. There were a few fun moments that actually felt like an FF comic. Plus, I found myself enjoying Ramos’s artwork in some of the action scenes. It fails miserably whenever faces are involved though. All in all, I still think Ryan North is not good for this - or any - book. But that’s the problem with all ofmore
ONE WORLD UNDER DOOM! Doom's secret - and how he's been able to win so much, so often - has been revealed. But how do you best the no-win scenario? The Fantastic Four have an idea - but it'll take them to the frozen depths of Antarctica, deep into Doom's secret lair, where they'll face their greatest challenge yet. It's Doom vs. the Fantastic Four ...
The concept of five hundred different Spider-People (or Wolverines, or Captain Americas…) in the same universe has never worked for me. All the stupid Spider-Kids, in combination with McGuinness‘s cartoony oversized art, make this feel less like a regular issue and more like something you’d find on the back of a cereal box.
STOP SPIDER-MAN! Spider-Man's gone too far. Now his greatest allies must stop him before it's too late!
Can you really separate the concept from the story? The cover is explicitly playing with the concept, and the fact that those are alternative "Spider-Men" matters to the story. You can't just take them out and have the same story. I also mentioned the art, that I don't like.
I guess the only aspect I left out because I wanted to keep it short and focused on my main issues, is Osborn as Spider-Man. I don't think it's a particularly great idea, but it gives us the opportunity for the cosmic Spider-Man stories drawn by Pepe Larraz, which are much more interesting to me. It's a shame that the series cannot focus on one storyline and one artist.
The war over Gotham reaches the doorstep of Wayne Manor as Dick Grayson isripped from Bruce and Alfred after fake evidence shows their care is unsafe for the young ward. It’ll take both Bruce and Batman to save Dick Grayson and the future of Gotham City!
The final showdown with Major Bludd. It’ll be an eye for an eye...
I love all the world building, mystery and weirdness of Ghost Pepper. However, three issues in, I'd expect some more clarity and direction.
SUPERSTAR LUDO LULLABI’S NEW HIT SERIES CONTINUES! Loloi and her new allies are being hunted by the most dangerous forces in the world—and that’s only the beginning... On the road, Loloi and her new allies hit their first major obstacle…and this is just the appetizer
This was just awful. Ransom helping his brother in Argentina is an intriguing and exciting premise - however, what starts with dramatic family dynamics ends up being an uneven story about some stupid comic convention shenanigans.
Vecchio's art is good, but this time it can't safe Simone's horrible writing.
The Wolverine/Ransom two-fisted team-up takes a definite weird turn, as our baddest heroes chase a classic X-villain to, of all places, a COMIC BOOK CONVENTION in beautiful Argentina! How do they find and eliminate their target in a sea of masked cosplayers? And what if some of the cosplayers are the ACTUAL villains they are portraying? It's CARNE ...
I almost bought this book - the art looks absolutely amazing after all - but after the latest developments concerning its author, I'm glad I didn't. I'm sorry that other people at DC have to suffer now because of him.

You can stir up some harmless controversy with stuff that's much less divisive. And in that case, you probably wouldn't cancel the book. If the book is really selling because of this debacle... well, that's really fucked up.
You're right. Someone with half a brain can generate harmless controversy. Then all that's left to think is that this person needs professional help. Unfortunately, morbid curiosity sells. For my part, I think RH fans ultimately won, since the comic's narrative quality is poor.
This was a pretty awesome, cinematic read. Ohta and Nitro's artwork is phenomenal - I'm flabbergasted Marvel didn't let them draw the cover, which is solid, but not great. Sorry, Marco Checchetto.
There's a lot of gore indeed - justifying the Red Band designation - but it's not there for sensationalist purposes, but to emphasize the brutality of Frank Castle's world - and most of all his huma more
FRANK IS BACK! Reread and reload, True Believers — Frank Castle is BACK. With no memories, a full clip and a thirst for wrathful vengeance, his violent search for answers could only be chronicled in a Red Band series! Bullets will fly, blood will flow, and the citizens and criminals of New York City alike will fear the name THE PUNISHER! From the...
Completely dispensable and unable to keep up, we know what happens next: the character's mind is messed up since a deconstruction run, and then the bloodthirsty villains will take advantage of this to turn him into a villain under the false pretense of bringing him back with his original symbol, all aimed at serving a progressive agenda. It's definitely not the Punisher who should be rebooted; Marmore

A special prelude to the upcoming series FIRST GHOST! The year is 1814. Washington D.C. is under siege by the British army, and the White House is engulfed in flames. This issue was the weakest and most predictable so far. I’m still interested to see where this is going though.
ORIGIN OF DOOM! A meeting with Doctor Doom in Latveria forces Steve to confront the realities of the harsh new world he's awoken in. Meanwhile, Dave Colton and the Howling Commandos infiltrate Doom's fortress to rescue hostages, but instead they uncover a sinister truth behind Doom's rise to power…
The absence of Carmen Carnero‘s art makes me realize that I rated some issues much higher than Eve Ewing‘s writing actually deserved. For better or worse, this is the last issue. I won’t be back for Expatriate X-Men.
KITTY PRYDE, LOST IN TIME! Kitty has been sucked through a hole in the space-time continuum and into the days of her very origins as an X-Man. Can the team get her back, or will they have to make their way without their fearless leader from now on?
The Biker Mice’s Mars mission continues to unfold in the next octane-pumping blockbuster from hotshot writer Melissa Flores (Power Rangers Prime) and full-throttle artist Daniel Gete (Skin Police)! As Vinnie, Throttle, and Modo transport the renegade scientist—who may hold the answers to the Plutarkians’ Mars attacks—across the desert on t...
This issue took me by surprise. It‘s actually… good!?! Despite the fact this Avengers team is quite aloof and unlikable, there was some sort of hopeful heroism that drew me in - in addition to Karami‘s art, which is getting better with each issue.
I could have done without Cyclops‘s psychotic X-Men team tough.
MARVEL ZOMBIES ATTACK IN THE RUINS OF SECRET WARS! The AVENGERS' hunt for the "Missing Moment" takes them to the last place anyone expected - the ruins of Hickman's SECRET WARS! Where Marvel Zombies await! And while Earth's Mightiest Heroes are away, someone needs to protect the world in their absence. Luckily, they know just the group of misunders...
This is mostly setup for what’s to come, but I like the look and atmosphere of this hyper-dangerous version of Gotham. Jimenez delivers some stylish and dynamic art, especially when it comes to architecture and the Batmobile. The colors complement the lines perfectly.
Personally, I prefer a more old-fashioned Batman with less focus on technological gadgets, but overall, Batman 1 was a stron more

The desecration continues. Who at Marvel thought this was a great idea?
The past isn't set in stone. Kamala Khan is locked in a battle through time against an unstable and unleashed Legion - and she's gone from the frying pan into the Phoenix fire. As the history we know is destroyed in front of her eyes, the new mutant must team up with Jean Grey in her darkest hour...and master her dangerous new mutant power! X-Hivem...
It’s funny you created this profile just to crap on my review and push the average rating of this book.
The second story with Pepe Larraz art is pretty good, although I doubt that the average Spider-Man reader is interested in Peter having cosmic adventures. Anyway, it’s an 8 for me. The rest of the book is pretty much forgettable.
SPIDEY GOES COSMIC! A tale of two Spider-Men...One Spider-Man swings around New York City meting out justice in an unfriendly matter. Another Spider-Man is found in a distant solar system running with strange companions. One such companion? A stranger named SYMBIE making his FIRST APPEARANCE! The next major chapter in Spider-Man's life begins here!
This issue is pretty much a non-stop WTF moment for me, since I haven’t read this series from the beginning and not a lot of explanation is given. Anyway, I have read worse from Jed McKay. His writing is usually bad to average, but he’s doing a decent job here.
I do like the art. There are some beautiful close-ups, although Karami’s detailed style takes away some of the dynamism and sp more
THE MISSING MOMENT! The AVENGERS have cracked the code…but what does REED RICHARDS have to do with it? The true nature of MYRDDIN is REVEALED!
Simone keeps cuddling her snowflake Outliers, but overall, this was an entertaining read. Vecchio’s art is growing on me too.
I’m not sure I like Ransom’s backstory though. The character and his powers already made him very similar to Sunspot. Now we learn that his origin is also not that different, which is just lazy. If you can’t come up with an original new character concept, more
The two baddest brawlers of the Louisiana X-Men buddy up to go undercover in faraway Argentina...to chase and destroy a legendary X-villain! Two-fisted fury as only WOLVERINE and RANSOM can bring it, and it's a rough, roaring ride for anyone who gets in their way!
Not a lot is happening this issue, plus, the art by Pansica and Rapmund is just okay. Gary Frank is back for an epilogue, but I’m not quite sure what this ending is supposed to be. The stupid zebra is… smoking?
All in all, an average, uneven and kinda weird issue.
The fallout—both literal and personal—from Geiger’s clash with Ashley Arden threatens to overwhelm him. Struggling to control his unstable powers, Geiger isolates himself before he hurts anyone else. But Tariq is pursued by a mysterious and dangerous new threat—one that may hold the secret to the Unknown War that turned America into a nucle...
I read the latest issue and really enjoyed it, so I thought, why not go back and read the whole run? After all, decent Marvel comics are hard to find these days.
I wasn’t disappointed by this issue. Overall, the story shows some promise and the art fits the horror approach quite nicely, although it’s not exactly my cup of tea. It’s not the sensational first issue I expected, but enough more
THE AGE OF MONSTERS HAS BEGUN!

With the help of an unlikely new friend, Banner and Hulk must try to stop the world fro...
Nice I will check this out too, Ive been doing the same thing too and Philip Kennedy Johnson is pretty good sometimes when hes allowed to be. He was getting better in Action Comics and right when things were getting good they ended it with a shit Annual instead of continuing his story...
