DC Comics News - Joshua Raynor
Nov 19, 2025What truly elevates this issue, however, are the backup stories. From heartfelt nostalgia in Captain America & Wonder Woman, to adorable charm in Jeff! & Krypto, to imaginative and humorous mini-adventures like Rocket Raccoon & Green Lantern, each story brings a distinct flavor to the anthology. The grittier, legendary showdown of Old Man Logan & Batman and the playful, fusion-based tease of Logo further showcase the creative ambition of this crossover, hinting at a larger Infiniverse playground for future stories. While some backups could have benefited from more pages, together they create a diverse, exciting experience that balances humor, action, and nostalgia. In short, this issue is a must-read for fans of either universe and a promising launch point for future crossovers. Read Full Review

Sep 17, 2025Marvel/ DC: Deadpool/Batman #1 delivers what its premise promises: a vivid clash of styles, solid art, smart color work, and strong character voices. Its not without flaws occasional lapses in pacing, some expository burden, and a bit of tonal whiplash but its hard not to come away excited. For fans whove long wanted Marvel and DC to drop their barriers, this issue provides a worthy first chapter. If you're into visual contrast, moral showdowns, and the comedic chaos of Deadpool against Gothams darkness, youll find a lot to like here. Read Full Review

Sep 20, 2025Marvel/DC: Deadpool/Batman #1 was exactly what it needed to be. A fun comic book with Deadpool and Batman teaming up. It is all made better by all the back-up stories that we get in this comic book. The team ups stories we get with Captain America & Wonder Woman and Daredevil & Green Arrow in particular steal the show. If you are a Marvel and/or DC Comics fan pick this comic book up. Sep 17, 2025Videos by ComicBook.comMarvel Comics published Deadpool/Batman #1, which features the talent of Zeb Wells, Greg Capullo, Chip Zdarsky, Terry Dodson, Kelly Thompson, Gurihiru, Kevin Smith, Adam Kubert, Al Ewing, Dike Kuan, Ryan North, Ryan Stegman, and Frank Miller. The number of superstars in the comic is staggering, delivering one of the most diverse anthologies on comic stands. Not every story in Deadpool/Batman #1 is necessarily great, but the issue displays a nice, diverse line-up that highlights the creators of both companies. If you're a fan of either or both brands, this one-shot is worth owning for being a once-in-a-generation crossover. We'll never know when the corporate overlords will allow something like this again. Sep 17, 2025None of the stories in Deadpool/Batman #1 match the epicness featured in previous Marvel and DC crossovers. Instead, this one-shot is more about vibes and has the characters hang out. Although some may find that disappointing, we appreciate the more mellow approach for this new crossover. Not everything needs to be about the end of the world. Read Full Review

Sep 17, 2025Deadpool/Batman #1 is a must-read for any fan of Marvel and DC. However, the best parts of the book are those that see these classic characters working together rather than fighting for the sake of fighting. Still, there is far more good than bad to be found here and I hope that this will be start of a more regular series of crossover comics. Read Full Review

Sep 17, 2025It seems like the most involved stories in this crossover don't seem to hold up very well. The rest of it is okay to quite good, but the core is still weak. I personally think that the format is very odd. Why not one-shots centring on team-ups rather than making the interesting stories back-ups in a non-interesting story's book? All in all, if you like the sound of any of these, I encourage you to go and read them. It's a cool event, and you should make the most of it. I just hope the next issue has a more solid foundation. Sep 17, 2025For all of the hype, all of the build up, all of the excitement, Deadpool/Batman #1 is a bit of a letdown. It missed the fun of the opportunity of it all, which the back-up stories seem to have gotten. If anything, it could have been a greater success focusing on a series of shorts, forgoing a main story and instead just let creators cut loose with what they've had. It's an odd release overall that's more for the nostalgia of the concept than the final product to read. Read Full Review

Weird Science Marvel Comics - mrgabehernandez
Sep 17, 2025Marvel/DC: Deadpool/Batman #1 is a disappointing miss. When you team up the most popular characters from both publishers, you should rightly expect action, adventure, and excitement on top of the novelty. Instead, you get half-baked concepts and half-finished art. It's clear, at least on the Marvel side of this venture, the maximum cover price was matched with minimal creative effort. Read Full Review
