Daredevil #4 does what has to be done at some point in any story featuring a major transition: move from the old to the new. To his credit, Zdarsky has laid enough groundwork that the idea of the transition works well. Unfortunately the issue that has to make this leap isnt as successful. If you're not reading Daredevil after sleeping on Volume 7, I still dont know what to tell you. Zdarksy's Daredevil is incredible and only getting better.

This series is still in its setup phase for the new arc but what we are getting si some awesome setup with fantastic art. Theres a fill in for this issue, and he works spectacularly. The script is ever on point with Matt Murdocks conflicted love and daunting stakes ahead. I just hope the actual threat looming towards them is worth all this.

This sets the stage for the upcoming events/war. This book moves us out of the past events and really starts putting in motion Elektra and matt's war on the hand. Major character moments for Matt and Elektra. I love how it's Matt Elektra and stick that will lead the fist even if Matt wasn't thrilled to see him lol. Anticipation is very high for me as this is shaping up to be a phenomenal daredevil story.

de Lattore is easily the best fill-in artist this run has seen since Jorge Fornes. I'm digging the setting and looking forward to what Zdarsky seems to be building towards, I just hope the payoff is worth it.

It's still moving ponderously, taking itself a little too seriously, but it IS moving forward. That's good. Cole North and his outsider perspective are vital. I know it's a classic narrative trick (a good alternative to exposition), but that doesn't mean it doesn't work. The art isn't Checchetto-detailed, but it's incredibly dynamic. That comes in handy for all of this issue's non-verbal storytelling.

It's not bad. Maybe I am just not feeling the book as much as I used to. It's got a pretty good plot, I just feel like I'm not clicking with the direction.
