With two Zdarsky-written issues left after last month, the natural thing would be to expect a two-part final battle against the Beast to rescue Matts friends and tie up what loose ends remain. This feels like the culmination not just of Zdarsky’s run, but of every Daredevil story ever told. As always, Checchetto makes the action feel epic—there’s no other word for it—and it’s all backed up by an emotional gut punch. I’m sad that this creative team only has one more issue, but at the same time I’m glad that they were able to end their story so perfectly. I’m still a little perplexed about Goldy’s role in all this. Was the Beast or the Wild using him to mess with Matt? I think that’s what’s happening, maybe it will be explained further next issue. So far that has been the only aspect of the run that hasn’t quite worked for me, but if what I think is happening is correct, then my qualms are moot.

I'm not a Catholic or even a Christian, but the portrayal of Matt's faith in his God and his friends and how that faith carries him through a terrible final betrayal was so powerful it moved me to tears. I think I'll save what else I have to say about this incredible run for the finale.

Absolutely a 10 no questions about it. This has been one of the best runs of DD. It sucks that it all comes to a end next issue. What a great ride thank you Chip and Marko. Phenomenal Jeff's Kiss.

“I fight for love.” The portrayal of Matt’s faith in this issue is the best this character ever had. If you want to know the essence of who Matthew Murdock really is, this is the issue to read.

Love the twist with the Fist in this issue. Love the white DD costume need a 2nd print with that. Well done Chip you will be missed and hopefully you take over Amazing Spider-man!

Another solid issue. The symbolism is super cool, and Daredevil's white suit with the fiery horns and ethereal swords is one of the baddest things I've ever seen. Art was out of this world. This is shaping up to be a really great conclusion that could've been so much better if the lead up to it actually made sense and wasn't just a fart in the wind, narratively speaking.

Series continues to be excellent. The art is flawless. Just insane. The narrative is quite fantastical for this character but its also stuff he's done before. I'm really not sure where it goes from here; but im along for the ride.

The surprise last-minute antagonist came so far out of left field that it threw me utterly out of the story. At first I thought I was missing some piece of established Daredevil lore, but nope, this is apparently the first/last/only appearance of that baddy. In retrospect, this whole arc is riddled with supporting characters with unclear motivations (looking at you again, Goldie), and this final one takes the cake. Which is a shame, because the storytelling work is sterling. Good writing and great art make this a very good comic in my eyes, despite the plot developments making little sense.

Chip loves to cut off limbs. Batman and now Daredevil. I don't think adding a supernatural element works for Daredevil. A street-level character going to hell and interacting with what are essentially ghosts doesn't really work for me. Let's see how this wraps up.

Daredevil going to hell to free his loved ones' souls, fighting demons. This shit is corny af. I really loved everything Zdarsky was doing up until this issue. Good fuckan grief. I gave it a 5/10 because the art is 10/10.

Art 10, Story 0. I have sadly watched this arc go further and further off the rails, and into pseudo-Christian nonsense, and now it's descended into complete incomprehensibility. Not to mention that several dead and buried friends of Matt suddenly reappear on Earth, bodies intact, just taking a marked path back to the land of the living. And Matt single-handedly, even without a corporeal body - and still with his billy stick, beats off demons. OMG. Complete and utter BS. Fantastic art, tho.

I took it as the “replaced” friends returning. So the Hand grabbed them, shoved them in hell, and assumed their forms/lives on earth. Matt just released these people. At least, that’s how it made sense to me.
