This book fires on all cylinders. From the excellent character work to the adventure and the mystery, this is a book that anyone that's into superhero comics could enjoy. And even if you're not necessarily into superheroes, or if you're on the verge of giving up on them, this gem of a comic book series is a master class example of how this kind of stuff should be executed. If you're only going to get one superhero book this month, make sure it's this one. All the other books pale by comparison, anyway. Read Full Review

Batman / Superman: World's Finest #14 takes a few pages to get going, but once the clues and action kick in, Waid and Mora prove they are the World's Finest DC comics creators around. Batman/Superman: Worlds Finest #14 continues with an arc that really does feel like a bridge between the lightheartedness of the silver age to now. Once things are really going, the novelty is going to wear off. Bruce Wayne has been accused of murder, and there is something uniquely interesting about that. Its not going to last too much longer, though. Things will begin to turn a corner as Waids story reaches its climax. If everything has been lined up right, it just might be some kind of satisfying end, but its difficult to tell, and it already feels as though the action in the foreground might overpower everything else once the story reaches its big conclusion. "Try HAVING A JOB sometime." One of the best lines I have ever read only reinforced by Superman saying it to Batman only for him to come back with, "...I swear, that man would believe a HAM SANDWICH..." Even if you take out the rest of this story the first 6 pages are perfect. How Waid is able to pull from all of this backlog of characters and seamlessly integrate it all into one story is amazing. He really understands each of these characters that he pulls from and the sandbox he has to work with. I'm glad he's back.

I really enjoyed this issue. Though, the twist about the robots replacing humans made my eyes roll. Do they really have the technology to make an identical duplicate? Did they not do an autopsy on Stagg since he was a murder victim? Autopsies always include an examination of the brain, so there's a major plot hole there. Discounting that, there was a lot of energy in this issue and it was good to see Bruce Wayne play a role outside of Batman. Superman stopping Metamorpho and the small fight with the robots was also good. Pretty happy about how the ending was set up and executed. Looking forward to the next issue.

Autopsies aren't always done even in cases of murder. They are usually done at the request of family and I get the feeling Java would have been the one in control of that despite Sapphire being his daughter. Autopsies are also not as conclusive as one might think. Granted in this instance it would have been rather easy to figure out but by modern standards it's not always a common practice.

I'm not sure where you're getting your info. Web MD says that they are almost always done in the case of suspicious death such as murder. Isn't WebMD the place where if you have a runny nose it means you have cancer? This one is a bit more specific on the details of when it is and isn't done and actually comes from a .gov site, just for Nevada. A bit more reputable. I'm not saying you are wrong at all, I was just pointing out that autopsies aren't ALWAYS done and at least for the sake of the story I can see ways that Java or someone would have prevented it. https://www.washoecounty.gov/coroner/faq/when_is_autopsy_performed.php

Waid's ability to produce a fun mystery steeped in as much minor character lore as possible is second to none at the Big Two right now. He's able to cohesively tie so many different parts of the DC Universe together in a way that no other DC writer is doing right now. When paired with Mora's expressive characters and Bonvillain's bold colors you've got one hell of a book.
