No Absolute book has been less than a 10 in my opinion so far, and this one is no different. Love the interactions between WW and Steve, love the Lovecraftian monster threat, love the tone, the art is pretty good, the writing is great, everything is just top tier story telling.

In Greek mythology, Pasithea was the goddess of relaxation, meditation, hallucinations, and other altered states of consciousness. She was one of the Charites, or Graces, and the wife of Hypnos, the god of sleep. Pasithea While not directly "patience" in the modern sense, her characteristics embody a sense of composure and serenity. All this to say, of all the virtues displayed by Diana, Patience has to be the strongest one. I'm not sure if this was on purpose since Diana hasn't called to Pasithea (yet). But from time she was a baby, she had the patience to teach the animals from hell to behave. She also did it here again with Steve's Commander. Also, Diana shows a lot of composure. Specially if you think about the fact that this is h er first outing as a hero. She carries herself likes she's done this before. Not just the fighting but flying on Pegasus back. Using her bag of different weapons and magic enchantments. Talking to people on the ground. Even talking to the demons. Diana is quite the champion! Hayden Sherman, Jordie Bellaire & Becca Carey allow for the reading experience to carry a wide range of emotions. Strength, kindness, intensity, curiosity, fear and other I'm sure have missed. This team, along with Kelly Thompson, manages to sneak subtle details that tell a story by itself. Notice how Circe moves her head when trying to get Diana to speak what's on her mind about Trevor's sudden arrival. People speak with their mouths, of course, but they also do with their bodies. That's so important in a visual medium like comics. What do you think Circe said with her gesture? (Panel below) Kelly Thompson is drawing a line in the sand as a writer so to speak. That line is starting split her from everyone else in the industry. That is just my opinion. more

All of the strength and power that Tom King fumblingly reaches for in the main title, but with a consistent tenderness and intimacy that gives it depth and meaning that the main book lacks. And what incredible art! Sherman's work here feels like Moebius working over panel layouts by JH Williams, and while Thompson's always rock-solid character work is easy to credit for the warmth of this book (which could easily have been icily grimdark in lesser hands), Sherman's lively and empathetic faces are what really seal the deal. This creative team is everything I'd hoped for and then some!

Similar to what Psycamorean mentioned in the previous issue, but what I like about this is Kelly Thompson's character writing. This isn't Wonder Woman talking like she's from the 1800s with Shakespearan thoughts and dialogue that feels stilted wooden and dry. This is Diana Prince talking like a normal person who feels Empathetic, Earnest and Wise. Her chemistry and dialogue with Steve Trevor immediately make me latch on to her, she's gentle and kind. But she is not a pushover, and she will stand her ground if people test her patience. The art and coloring work SUPER well. I honestly believe that Absolute Wonder Woman is the best one coming out of this Absolute Universe. Which is a relief and makes me happy since Wonder Woman often gets p ushed to the side in the main comics in favor of Batman and Superman. I am excited to see how this goes on. Kelly Thompson truly understands who Diana Prince is as a character, considering Wonder Woman (as a character) has been in limbo ever since DCEU ended. more

The interaction with her and Steve was sublime. Although Absolute Batman remains my favourite of the three, I am pleased to say this comic has be invested in WW again. I love this comic. Gabe Hernandez with a hit piece giving this a 5. His lunacy never ends.

Money and free stuff. Most of these critics get free issues and payment from the sites they write reviews for. Add onto that, negative reviews get more clicks generating more revenue and as frustrating as it is that it's all we really see from him, it makes sense.

The sad part is that social media these days have gotten more toxic and negativity. I can understand not liking a comic compared to others, but at least try not to be nit-picky. Again, I can also understand that this issue compared to Watchmen is technically a "5 out of 10" but that should not be used to critique or give a number score to an issue. It should be based on your interpretation on whether the characters, story, dialogue, art, and action work on its own

This is how you get readers into strong female characters. You treat them as such. Don't infantilize them. They can still show weakness and vulnerability. Softness like she is exhibits with Steve and easing him into his realization he's in Hell. This Diana is about as strong as I've ever seen her. She is sure of herself and her desire to protect those she can. To be graceful, confident and immensely powerful. A total badass. It's everything Wonder Woman should be.

The Absolute titles are all amazing! Wonder Woman is no exception. I really love the voice that Kelly Thompson has for Diana. I Love how she put in the perfect amount of nostagia of the characcter and bringing her own flavor into it. We get to meet Steve Trever in this episode, and it was a perfect Meetcute. Gotta talk about Haydens art! WOW, I really dig this style. This is the movst BA version of Wonder Woman to date!

Not as good as the previous issue, but still a really good one. Sherman's art continues to look great, and I liked how Thompson wrote the relationship between Diana and Steve. Diana, in particular, has just been handled greatly thus far. All things considered, this series is two-for-two when it comes to awesome issues. This continues to be my favorite of the Absolute line thus far.

I am not a fan of the art in this title, but I like the characters and the world-building. I'm also not a fan of the costume or the sword. I hope they do a redesign. Some people had a problem with Trevor showing up, but I don't have a problem with it if Kelly explains it. No we have huge kaiju. Let's see where it goes from here. I like this issue better than the last and I still love the concept of this version of Diana but the dialogue by Thompson and the indy style art by Sherman bring it down for me. Parts of the writing are great and then the next sentence seems to devolve into a shortened structure that doesn't feel....finished? It's almost like it's her first attempt at writing in some places and then in others she remembers she's been doing this for years. The art is fine for some types of books but not for one of the big swings they're taking in this new series. The idea of WW fighting Kaiju and being from Hel is great, I just wish the book was a bit more polished.
