Jeff Lemire, Nick Robles and Adriano Lucas continue to define Absolute Flash as one of the best titles at DC with this second issue. It's an entertaining and emotional read as we witness Wally struggle with everything going on around him. Absolute Flash #2is a mostly positive mixed bag, with great art to showcase Wally's nascent powers and the Rogue's abilities, but multiple mysteries add up to a head-scratcher. Jeff Lemire's script imagines a more realistic reaction to someone suddenly gaining powers, but the confusion and chaos go overboard. Overall, Absolute Flash #2 is a fun story to read. As Wally tries to piece together everything thats happening to him, hell have to decide the world he wants to see for tomorrow. This issue manages to top the previous issue by escalating the action and the drama, along with fleshing out the characters more and providing more intriguing insights into Wally’s new powers. Another great ending helps round out what for me is a perfect issue! I’ve already moved on from the other Flash book. Lemire runs circles around Spurrier.

I loved this comic instantly. I have to say, this has already completely eclipsed Lemire's current JLA run. Honestly? I'd have Lemire focus on this and this alone, DC wise of course. Barry is depicted as a good man from the off and his fondess for Wally is compelling. He has a vested interest in Wally that Wally's father seems to find problematic. It feels like there is more to this. Is Wally himself an experiment? Created by his dad maybe! Wally's regret over what he did to Barry is felt in every page. I feel it. But what exactly did Barry do here? In terms of character designs, I dig the new version of Captain Cold. Hoping to see more character development for him. Lemire does family drama as good as anyone in comics and t hat West family drama is the beating heart of this story. Absolute DC continues this renaissance era for DC comics. I look forward to every issue. I haven't felt this way about so many comics at once in years. Long may it run. more

Honestly, I know it's too hard to compare. But Absolute flash is much easier to read than Simon Spurrier's Flash. The meta stuff here is more digestible than Main Flash. I know it's best not to compare to say which one is better. But I found myself enjoying this a lot more than usual

Hello my friend. Always appreciate your comments. It's so weird. Simon Spurrier's Constantine is one of the most brilliant and fiercely intelligent things I've ever read. However, it is deeply British and, to me, it's clear his writing in that mode simply translates better for him. His Flash is bad. I honestly can't believe it's even him. This guy wrote the absolutely beautiful Coda. I think you are right to compare.

This entire Absolute run is shining a sobering light on the quality of all mainline DC. I saw someone say, if may have been you, that DC should somehow make Absolute the main line. From a sheer quality perspective, it's hard to argue. Politically, I can't even imagine how that would work. I know I am easily pleased, excitable and hyperbolic but I never expected in my mid 30s to feel how I felt reading comics as a kid again. What DC and Scott Snyder has done is unprecedented.

For the first time in years, the narrative is no longer 'western comics is so bad - look at how manga is dominating it (I love and read manga also - Berserk lives in my soul) Now, DC has set the bar. I firmly believe that competition breeds quality. Marvel has a lot of catching up today - I'm excited to see what they do. The Ultimate concept is cool but lacks the quality of Absolute. Marvel lacks the cool factor that DC has.

I want to ask you, what is the main difference between British comic books and American? It seems that with Simon Spurrier and Kieron Gillen, the dialogue and humor is more dry sarcastic humor.

In my experience, British writers tend to be more verbose. They often tend to have black humour. Your observation I also find to be true. British writers do not fear being politically charged in the way I think American writers sometimes are. Broadly speaking, British writers seem to embrace politics in their works. Spurrier's last Constantine was a damning indictment on conservative Britain and wasn't shy about it.

I love this. I get that it may not be everyone's cup of tea but I love putting Wally back into the shoes of a younger man only now he's alone. There is no Flash-Family. There is no support system. He's worried his dad hates him and he's being hunted. He's a Wally West that didn't have Barry to teach him how to BE the Flash. That's his "Darkseid trait". Who is Wally without Barry's mentorship? A hero or a monster. Lemire has me hooked.

Run, Wally, Run! I loved this issue, the rogues, even in an alternate universe, are incredible.(heat wave is among us) The art is incredible and the script is good, in my opinion. Like all other Absolute titles, there is a lot of mystery for the next issues. My only complaint is that the issue went by too quickly, it needed to be longer.

this is a very trippy meta Flash issue done right. And I agree with Motorik, I feel that this run is way better than the JLA simply because Jeff Lemire can focus solely on Wally instead of juggling a lot of characters. The art and the way Wally runs is so interesting and cool. I honestly can't wait to see Jeff Lemire's interpretation on Grodd and the Rogues.

A quick read, though I guess that makes sense with The Flash, right? Jokes aside, this was good. I really like the idea of Wally suffering from anxiety, which I thought was well done throughout this issue and the previous. I'd like to see more of The Rogues, as I do like the designs for most, if not all, of them. This is helped by Robles, who does awesome work with the interiors here, in my opinion.
