Wow, this issue is bad. The villains are clones of the Illuminati. I'm so tired of team books having equally matched teams thrown at them. At least with Space Ghost, we were introduced to each member, and then they teamed up for the finale. That's how you write a story. This is just lazy. Members on the cover aren't even in the book. Why is Carnage a member of the Avengers? That makes zero sense. Black Widow sneaks up on Bucky in the middle of the desert. What? The dialogue is horrible. This is a one-and-done for me. It needed a better writer and they should have stuck closer to the movie team.

I love spider-man, but the art is so bad. It looks like a toddler drew it.

Yet another issue of Storm that has me somewhat divided. While the story is unpredictable and nuts in a fascinating way, and Werneck’s art is absolutely mind-blowing, the dialogue, especially Ayodele‘s attempt at making jokes, is next level cringe.

I’m also really confused about a few statements. Storm has spent decades without her powers? Decades!?! When? Also, Gateway and Manifold are supposed to be the only teleporters able to reach locations outside our universe? Has Ayodele heard of Magik? Also, the radioactive mutant Storm rescued in issue 1 is a girl? I have to take a look at the issue again, but I’m sure I saw a boy (could be trans or non-binary of course. Marvel uses every opportunity to shove the TQ down our throats.)

Anyway, the cliffhanger ending is a real shocker. I thought I knew where Thunder War would go, and this is proving me wrong in the best way possible. Consider me hooked. more

I was so excited to jump back into comics after a long hiatus, starting with the From the Ashes X-Men event. And instantly I run into that kind of wokeness where you start bullying people you've never met and calling them names, but it's ok because they deserve it for disagreeing with you

And now I become aware that the author is full of hate and spite, and I know that's what I'm in for if I keep reading work by this artist. Hate sucks more

If only this would happen in real life

I thought it was pretty good. The art is incredible, both colors and pencils. Emma is properly sexy, and the X-Men look as good as they can, especially Colossus. I think a drawback is that this is solely a "chapter one" type of book; it is not also a self contained mini story, and although there is a cliffhanger, it's a mild one. Some nice touches were the mutant protester crashing the party via piano, and Nightcrawler stealing a cupcake. I'll read the next one just to see what this series is going to be... and for the killer art more

I was eager to see some of the team members who have not yet appeared, but it's probably best for them to be introduced more gradually. I'm neither for or against the Natasha/Bucky romance, but more importantly it seems like they have complementary skills as team leaders but also differing m.o.'s, so it should be interesting to watch that play out.

It was cool. Natasha looks beautiful. Barnes is badass. "The" Wolverine cuts a dude's head right in half. Namor gets offended. Surprise villain with bonkers clones of the Illuminati.

Being a gay man, this should speak to me. It doesn’t, because it looks like crap and reeks of indoctrination. Really, I’m expected to buy this poorly assembled bullshit just because I’m homosexual? It may come as a surprise to you, Marvel, but your actual gay and lesbian readers, like any other reader, just want to read a great comic, but you’re not giving us great comics anymore.

Forget anything Uncanny or X-Men at least for me...

I really was hoping this would be a long series that would last for me but no I think this issue turned me off for good. My biggest beef is the art changing so much, the artist in the beginning was superb I thought but now they keep changing too where it has no consistency at all.

Modern comics really are garbage and to the ones that aren't as bad they are still a chore to read when you want to stick with them. For example, I started reading the 1998 Iron Man run written by Kurt Busiek and drawn by Chen. Now I won't claim it too be the best comic EVAH! However it is in a masterclass in itself. In two days I read 25 issues and an annual without getting tired of it. Getting ready eventually to read 64 more issues of it.

Iron Man 1998 unlike this crap called Uncanny X-Men is consistent throughout those 25 issues I've read, even the worst issues were still entertaining. The romance and flings Tony has feel real and gives you a glimpse into him as a man. Whereas in Gail Simone's romance between Rogue and Gambit it feels like a cheap attempt at fanfiction or at best cliche fans service (is there a difference Idk?).I am not learning anything new about Rogue or Gambit through there love in this series, nothing significant that effects the story dramatically at all.

This whole issue especially was so drab and stupid and you know what I'm sick of every woman character having a beef with some male lead for reasons that is not explained. I get it everyone hates Scott now but honestly I think its stupid. I like Scott Summers, I think he's a good character that deserves respect but no he is getting the Captain America treatment in current comics. Cap is also being treated like used toilet paper in comics that should "know his place" when "DA STRONG WAHMEN COMEZ IN DA PANEL DUH!!"

I gave this garbage another chance even after that horrendous abomination called issue #6 but that's it! more

This issue was torture. While there is an attempt at actual storytelling, nothing really works. It’s particularly frustrating when Simone sets up an important character moment for Calico, but then makes her change her attitude completely out of the blue. Rogue credits Gambit’s people skills, but he did nothing to cause such a dramatic change from one panel to the next. Weird!
There’s also a lot of hugging and cutesy victim mentality stuff that obviously caters to the younger woke generation of readers, but will most likely p*ss off older readers. I certainly have had enough of this title. more

Excellent first issue, so much better than the Tamaki miniseries. Confident Zatanna is best Zatanna. Even if the fishnets and heels are hopeless outdated and sexist.

I was worried about this issue as most X-Men solo books are crap. I was also worried that this might be a feminist book. Thankfully neither was true. I thought it held pretty closely to the Magik character and Ashley apparently respects her. The chicken feet on the villain were a bit weird. Other than that, I thought it was a good start.
