I'm annoyed at the meta-textual way that "The End of Spider-Verse" is played, but it's a good wrap-up that brings back a lot of fave-raves and debuts a new kid, with Bagley in fine form. Read Full Review

Spider-Man #7 ends the conflict against Shathra with a flaccid final battle and possibly the worst new character introduction in recent memory. On the plus side, the art looks markedly improved, even if the story is cheap and lazy. Read Full Review

Dan Slott has brought his epic to an exhaustive, bland, to an end as Mark Bagley's pencils gasp for air underneath all the clutter of superfluous spider-people and heartless action. Gotta give this an 8 just cuzza Bagley. We lost a legend in Perez. However, you still need a guy to load a page with characters? Mark Bagley’s your guy. As far as the story, you read one Spider-Verse story, you’ve read them all. Could’ve been worse.

It was a fun ride. As a whole, I prefer the previous spderverse stories but that doesn't make any of this bad. It gives a look at some new spider people, none which I found very interesting but maybe someone else out there liked the new characters. I don't know if Slott forgot about Kaine and then remembered so he tossed him in at the end. At least he tried something. I love Kaines character so at least he made a brief appearance. All in all, I'd be on board for more spiderverse stories but would prefer it focus on already established versions, the new ones were boring and didn't really matter much in the end.

It's fine. There aren't any surprises or anything. But it has wonderful art from Bagley and decent writing. AND KAINE IS BACK. FINALLY.

This was a fine ending. I don't have much vitriol left in the tank for Spider-Verses anymore. I don't think this story was necessary, but it didn't overstay its welcome. I don't mind the implications of Spider-Boy, as I know they'll be resolved in future issues. I had a fine time. I do think this issue kind of misses what makes Spider-Man such a great character, which is weird since Slott has nailed that in other stories. The humorous quipping is pretty fun. The dull conflict, the multiple dei ex machina, and the shortage of real consequences, not so much. Even the art seems off. Tons of effort in the crowd scenes, yes, but some shockingly weak finishes whenever we zoom in on individuals. And the solitary nubbin of actual insight and consequence--yeah, the world is saved and the reset button is punched, but Peter just lost Uncle Ben all over again--is undercut by the triviality of the rest of the story.

this was a bland, mediocre and forgettable event from Marvel once again. Peter Parker saves the day by a deus ex machina using a ray gun. Art was fine, but story and action and dialogue could have been better. Characters were a bit boring. This entire story undoes the original Spider-Verse, but its whatever to be honest. Also, Kaine appears out of nowhere, and Spider-Boy was weird.
