Batman and Robin #25 was not only an exhilarating and great way to start the new story arc, but it was also one of the best issue in Phillip Kennedy Johnson's run so far. It was action-packed, the pacing was electric, and it was simply a fun read all the way through. It will take me a bit to adjust to Fico Ossio's art, but I know it will complement the story Johnson is trying to tell. What did the Penguin do to Cy that caused the Quiet Man to go on this quest for vengeance? I can't wait to find out! Read Full Review

Batman and Robin #25 is another very good issue in this series. As the first chapter in a new arc, it sets the stage for a mystery and the continuing development of the father/ son dynamic between Bruce and Damian that's been the character focus of the series since Phillip Kennedy Johnson came aboard with issue #14 about a year ago. And, if you're jumping in cold, it works just as well as a mystery for Batman with an ending that will have fallout you've got to come back for. Read Full Review

All in all, I'd say this is an okay start, but this 2nd arc isn't gearing up to excite me as much as Williams ever did in this book, but we shall have to wait and see. Read Full Review

I know we have seen this before, but its nice seeing Bruce and Damian Wayne actually bonding and not fighting each other or be at odds.

There are some wonderful father/son moments in this issue. As Well as some great character moments for both Bruce Wayne and Damian. This new artist is phenomenal!!! I only wish that he had gotten to illustrate the cover instead of the previous artist. The new guy’s art is so much more action packed and dynamic. The entrance of Batman and Robin into this issue is explosive!!! Immediately after having read the issue I had to go back to the beginning just to marvel at the art. This is definitely a story that has me extremely excited for the next issue!!! Minor spoiler ……… I really loved the touch of Bruce telling Damian just how proud he was of him. It’s moments like this that really make me fall for comics in the first place. Bruce suggests that he and Damian go to the movies. Damian seems surprised and almost hesitant to utter the words “Monarch Theatre”. But his sheer excitement to enjoy a bonding moment, enjoying going to the movies with his father gets the better of him. As they are approaching Monarch Theatre Damian can sense that his father is nervous. They both are. Bruce reassures him that everything will be fine. Just then there is a poignant moment of Bruce gazing over towards the street light where his parents were murdered. It’s moments like this that really make me grow fonder and fonder of PKJ’s writing. Side note…… I previously had a MUCH longer review written. Thanks to all the damn pop up adds and how buggy this site is being, the page hiccupped and I lost EVERYTHING that I spent my time writing!!!! GRRRR 😖 more

The father son moments with Damien are fantastic and PKJ has a great understanding of Damien so I really appreciate him continuing Williamson's work at fleshing the character out. The new villain is interesting and I can never get enough of the Penguin so really looking forward to where the story goes.

This is a good start. I am so glad the Momento story is over. By the end, he was dragging a corpse through a minefield filled with barbed wire, and the conclusion was poor. I really hope he can close this up in 6 issues. IF he goes a full 12+ again, I'll probably drop it. I love the way the Penguin is drawn in here and the action is good. Keeping my fingers crossed. PJK took too long with the last arc. The way he wrote this issue feels like he will do the same with this arc. The issue was totally fine. But not as good as Batman, Detective, Dark Patterns or Batman and Robin year One. Nothing in this issue that says I have to pick up the next issue. Which is how I like my comics to work. I’m out.
