Despite this, Gerry Duggan does a good job with the dialogue, providing what is arguably his strongest work in the Cableseries thus far. As usual, Phil Noto's art is breathtaking, never missing a beat. Nathan learning humility and how to lose could be interesting moving forward, regardless of the frustrating nature of his battle. And, of course, the set up for Apocalypse vs. Genesis is palpable, a (hopefully) thrilling conclusion which readers will finally get their hands on next week.

Cable#7 is a more promising look at the future of the title, leaning into some self-aware writing and striking the balance of "coming of age story" and "intriguing plot." Phil Noto's pencils always hit the mark, providing beautiful visuals throughout.

Cable #9 is a hit-or-miss adventure that promises a more satisfying conclusion to this tale.

Coates has done wonders developing Sharon's character and through the Daughters of Liberty, he has done more for Peggy Carter's character than any modern writer. His run continues to be intriguing and politically conscious, though one often wonders when Steve himself will get his day in the sun as well. In that respect, it's certainly the outlier in the various Captain America runs, though that's hardly a bad thing.

All in all,Captain America#26 is another solid entry in the series and for fans who have enjoyed it thus far, this one will certainly resonate as well.

Captain America#27 is a good character piece and a thoughtful political commentary. If you've been enjoying Coates' run so far, this is another solid entry in the series.

Undoubtedly,Captain America#28 will have its detractors because of its political nature, but that's what makes the book work so well.Captain Americahas always been political -- it's the perfect title to make a statement like this, and Coates was the perfect writer to do it. The lesson here isn't just important, it's necessary and incredibly timely.

Coates' run is almost done, and how he plans to end it is quite an exciting thought.

Widow and Cap have fun banter, but the book feels less like a Cap book overall and more like an Avengers story. And quite frankly, an Avengers story that should have been told earlier considering the event in question happened in 2018. To go this route with the Annual is a bit odd, but Steve has some standout moments in the title.

All in all,Captain America Anniversary Tributeis a cute issue that embodies the comics the past and honors a timeless character.

As far as current Marvel titles go,Captain Marvelis consistently one of the best. Thompson's writing is quick-witted, funny, and emotional, and Garbett's pencils get the job done with an extra bang.

While Kelly Thompson's wholeCaptain Marvelrun is good, this arc is easily one of the best, and it's sad to think that it's probably half over.

Captain Marvel#26 is a mostly-satisfying conclusion to a fantastic arc. Garbett's pencils get the job done and Thompson's writing knocks it out of the park -- it'll be interesting to see where the title goes from here.

Captain Marvel#27 is just purefun,and it's hard to read the issue without smiling a few times. From the cast's chemistry to the comedy of Jessica Drew's disastrous but well-meaning attempts to cheer up Carol, this comic is kind of like a slice of life issue after the big plot.

Captain Marvel#28 is another solid issue in a strong series, featuring good art and great writing. While magic doesn't seem like something that will be sticking around for Carol very long, it sure seems like a fun ride for now.

Champions#4 features strong writing across the board, from the X-Men to the Champions themselves. Bob Quinn's pencils get the job done quite nicely while Ewing continues to prove just how well she knows these characters.

All in all,Children of the Atom#2 is a fun read that makes the audience instantly fall in love with the character of Cherub. This new cast of X-kids is peculiar, but solving their mystery seems like it'll certainly be a fun ride.

Issue #3 ofChildren of the Atomsets up an interesting premise and continues to unravel new information about these mysterious kids.

'Children of the Atom' is a new take on classic X-Men tropes, and it's only getting better with every issue.

Overall,Detective Comics#1035 features strong writing and gorgeous pencils across the board. "Middle class" Bruce isn't as hard of an adjustment as it seems on paper under Tamaki's pen and the story is coming along quite nicely.

Everfrostis a comic that knows exactly what story it wants to tell, and both Lindsay and Kivela have a clear vision to drive it forward.

As far as single issues go, this one is very much a groundwork laying one, which Howard does well. Several interesting mysteries are presented and the character work done was much-needed.

Future State Wonder Woman is new, different, and so quintessentially Wonder Woman at the same time.

Hellions#6 isn't a great entry inX of Swordsevent, but it's a great standalone issue in a fun series thus far.

Hellions#7 is fun and emotional when it needs to be, introducing an exciting new chapter for a series that often keeps its readers on its toes.

Zeb Wells is no stranger to the X-Men, butHellionsis certainly his best work with a mutant team thus far. Stephen Segovia's pencils are a treat as usual, and the writing proves once again thatHellionsis the current X-Men series with the most heart.

ThoughHellions#9 doesn't do much to answer the myriad of questions the title has raised, it is a fun ride. Wells continues to capture the wonderful dysfunction of this team's dynamic and Segovia's pencils tie it all together in a beautiful knot.

Hellions#10 takes a deep dive into some dark territory but the comic is all the better for it, crafting deeply personal scenes that allow for a real look inside these characters' heads.

Hellions #11's shining moments lie in Sinister's scheming and Kwannon's continued importance in the series.

Segovia's pencils shine once again and while the issue is a bit directionless, Wells's writing is witty as always.Hellions#12 doesn't change the course of the title, but it is a fun time.

Jinny Hex Special#1 is a much-needed insight into a new character that provides a thought-provoking narrative about the family we are born into and the families we choose.

While it's mostly a filler issue,Marauders#15 is mostly fun for what it is and features gorgeous artwork to boot.

Marauders#16 is perfectly serviceable on its own, though the plot it sets up is far more intriguing.

Marauders#19 doesn't have any shocking revelations or major implications for the future of the series, but its charm lies in its simplicity and how it uses its lesser-focused characters. All in all, it's a fun ride and a standard fare issue for theMaraudersline. As usual, Caselli's art is the real star ofMarauders, making every page absolutely gorgeous and bursting with life.

Rod Reis proves yet again he's one of the best artists in the industry, and he provides so much life to the characters. Ayala's writing is fast-paced and it's clear that they not only understand the characters, but they belong on this title.

New Mutants#15 skillfully brings back old plotlines while raising new, interesting questions.

Ayala and Reis go together like peanut butter and jelly, andNew Mutantscontinues to be one of the most promising titles of the new era.

Rod Reis' art makes every page come to life with a beautiful gloss. Ayala's writing continues to shine, capturing the voices of all these characters quite well.

Ayala brings a voice to these characters that is both wholly charming and completely authentic while Rod Reis knocks every scene out of the park with his gorgeous pencilwork.

Planet Size X-Menbrings an exciting future, but suffers from having its most exciting reveals spoiled already by Marvel's marketing and previous issues in the Hellfire Gala event.

Power Pack#1 strikes the coveted balance of being completely accessible to new readers while providing enough references to past lore to overjoy even the most seasoned fan.

Power Packis easily one of the most enjoyable books out there right now. North's writing is fun and self-aware while Leon's art is wonderfully cartoony. For a lighthearted good time,Power Pack is a can't-miss book.

The more this series goes on, it's hard to imagine a more perfect team for thePower Packrevival than North and Leon.

If you've ever wanted to get into thePower Pack,this comic is a great place to start and if you're a longtime fan of the series, this mini does the characters justice. It may just be the most wholesome book on the market right now.

Reptil#1 is everything longtime fans have wanted and its the perfect jumping on point for new fans who want to learn more about this character.

The issue is standard fare for what to expect from Rowell and Genolet'sRunaways quality-wise -- if you've enjoyed the series thus far, you'll likely enjoy this installment. Though the story moving forward seems poised to only become more and more interesting.

S.W.O.R.D. #1 positions itself to be a thought-provoking comic that honors and expands on character history while boasting beautiful visuals.

S.W.O.R.D.#2 is Ewing and Schiti at their best, showcasing epic battles and a narrative that respects the history of what came before it.

Ewing's work shines as always and Schiti's pencil work is truly a sight to behold --if you've been enjoyingS.W.O.R.D. so far, this issue is another big pleaser.

Seeing what Ewing has in store for cosmic Marvel is a treat and as usual, hisS.W.O.R.D.is one of the best X-books on the market.

Way of X's first issue might just be the most exciting installment in the Krakoa era in a long time.

Way of X#2 establishes the book's place as an early contender for one of the best titles in the ever-expanding line thus far.

Wolverine #7 is incredibly fun and keeps the reader on their toes the entire time.

X-Factor#5 has a lot of heart, a lot of history, and sets up an intriguing mystery for its future arc.

The artwork is interesting, the plot is intriguing, and the mysteries that have arisen are among the best in the new era.

Williams and Baldeon are at their best here and this is, without a doubt,X-Factor'sbest arc yet --and it only seems to be getting more exciting by the minute.

Williams and Baldeon brave new territory with a horror-inspired approach to their story, which is met with mostly success.

In many ways, Williams' X-Factor feels like a love letter to two series:New X-Men(2004) andX-Factorvolume 3.

X-Force#15 sets a dangerous precedent for Krakoa and opens up some fascinating questions for the X-Men's new world. Cassara's pencils just get better and better with every issue, providing endless visual treats.

Seeing Percy dig into Quentin's subconscious to find out what makes him tick is some good character work and Cassara knocks it out of the park once again in a big way.

What makesX-Force#18 interesting is that it's essentially a psychological horror book.

X-Men #15 is a great issue for Cyclops fans, setting up an exciting end for the X of Swords tournament and future X-Men stories to come.

X-Men#16 is one of the better issues in this title because it feels like it's going somewhere and the questions that have risen are wholly intriguing and thought-provoking.

All in all,X-Men#17 is more of the same extremely contained story-telling that will almost certainly come back later.

It's a fun read that sets up interesting questions for the future of Krakoa and Asrar's art is beautiful, giving every page a nice polish.

X-Men#19 might just be the best issue of this series thus far, introducing high stakes and great character work. It'll be interesting to see how Krakoa reacts moving forward -- and how the Children of the Vault will reappear.

Reading X-Men Legends#1 has a nostalgic feel to it despite its 2021 publication date, with the characters and setting feeling reminiscent to greeting an old friend you've lost contact with. It's a trip down memory lane in its own right.

X-Men Legends#2 is a fun, lighthearted adventure that clears up a long-running question in the team's complicated history.
