Probably the comic of the week for me. The relationships, personalities, the chemistry, the dialogue, the themes, Carol's fears and doubts feels spot on and it's fun. I guess you can argue, that the kiss with Dr. Strange came too early considering when she and War Machine broke up, but you have to understand how conflicted and emotionally weak, she is right now. The art is moody and soft, but when it needs to, it can get really dynamic and dramatic. Overall i feel like Carol is going through a great arc. Sure, she is extremely stubborn, but that comes from a place of insecurity, which clouds her judgement. Exactly that nuance, makes her feel so human to me. Of course also the humor and the dialogue are quite great, which helps to more

First time ever reading anything Captain Marvel. This surprised me. The premise and the fact that Doctor Strange and Carol banged is enough to keep me interested. Wasn't enough action but from what I've read, the previous arc had quite a bit and that doesn't seem to be the focus in this story. Can't wait for the next issue.

Captain Marvel decides that she has to master magic in order to stop Ove from bringing about the apocalyptic future she's visited. Dr. Strange is not half as helpful as she hopes, so she turns to more questionable instructors. It's packed with all the usual wit and sass, but the plot gives me pause. There are big gaps in Carol's logic, and there are some very reasonable solutions that never come up. I feel the author's hand is a little heavy here, railroading the protagonist down her preferred storyline. On the plus side, new artist Jacopo Camagni won me over with his ability to wring great emotion out of minimalist faces -- though I wouldn't mind a little more detail on costumes and characters.
