By orchestrating three big reveals in quick succession, Rainbow Rowell and the rest of the creative team take Runaways #35 from good to great. It's intensely personal, it's transformative, and it pays off reader commitment in the best possible way. This certainly isn't the place to start reading Runaways, but as the capstone of an arc and the latest chapter in the volume, it's a big reward for following these characters. Read Full Review

The issue is standard fare for what to expect from Rowell and Genolet'sRunaways quality-wise -- if you've enjoyed the series thus far, you'll likely enjoy this installment. Though the story moving forward seems poised to only become more and more interesting. Read Full Review

That this book keeps on existing in the current market climate is never short of amazing to me, and that it keeps being so good is even more amazing. An all timer in the making.

This comic makes me care about relationships despite usually hating relationships in comics. They just always seem dumb... You know, cause they have to be for the sake of drama. Not a ton happens in this issue, but I don't actually mind so much. However, the ending makes me slightly uncomfortable. There is a chance that I just don't remember how old Gert is, but if I'm not wrong about her still being a teen, that makes the ending slightly gross to me? I hope I'm just misremembering her age.

The mutant storyline fizzles out, but in a satisfying way; Nico shares a shocking (to Karolina) secret with her girlfriend; and the creators spring an even bigger surprise with the last two pages. It is rare for a Big Two comic to let a couple spend seven pages talking through important -- but undeniably relationship-y -- stuff. But then, it's even rarer for an Important Relationship Conversation to be executed this well in any medium. What a delight to read!
