What Cold Comfort should have been

Very odd story that seems to be missing a large chunk of what would explain Freeze's logic

Amazing dialogue, setting, visuals pulled down by problematic and contradictory messaging

Again, this is brought down my muddled messaging, though less so than the first issue.

The best of the series, but falls prey to way over simplifying things.

It feels as though Miller is through out this (and the series as a whole) seems to shift between trying to leave this morally open ended and fully backing everything Batman does and it hurts the end product.

This issue takes a sharp left turn in to utter garbage around 3/5 in. The ending runs contradictory to the rest of series and completely drops the ball in the homestretch of an otherwise greatly written story. It becomes flat adoration of Monarchism with the ending.

While I think an issue where Scott mourns and reminisces about his life with Jean is a good idea, that's not what this ended up being. It is just a recap of X-Men to this point with Scott occasionally referencing how he and Jean were doing at those points. This should have the subtext between between them during those events and stories of theirs we didn't get to see.
