I honestly can't describe what Alex Ross created here, all the compliments in the world wouldn't do it justice.

Alex Ross is easily a 10/10 here. It should be in a museum. Waid's story is captivating. I can't help but compare this to Busiek's Marvels and I enjoyed that story much more than this one. If I read this back in 1996 I'm sure I would have been blown away. Still, This is easily the best DC comic story and art combination I have ever read or seen.

Kingdom Come is a masterpiece. It does the playing with the expectations thing, the bad future thing, the good storytelling thing - all that good stuff. Besides the fun and intriguing plot you can enjoy the amazing art of this book - some may say it has to much details which will lead in a slow read book. I can only look at it and have to think damn is this close to the Watchmen, Dark Knight Returns level.
