Batman #50
June 22, 2021
I have never been more disappointed in a comic in my life. I'm just now reading it in 2021, so I can't imagine what fans felt when it actually came out. They spend like 30 issues setting up this wedding... just for (SPOILER!) there to be no wedding! They teased it to be a huge event throughout the DC Universe and instead it was just some lame repeat of the same ole cliche of "I love you too much to put you in harms way" type of bs. Worst Batman comic I've ever read.

Batman #55
June 29, 2021

An excellently written comic with a shocking ending that perfectly characterized Nightwing & Batman's relationship. Unfortunately this ending is going to lead to some pretty disappointing Nightwing stories, but that shouldn't take away from this issue of "Batman"

Batman Annual #3
June 25, 2021
Tom Taylor writes this one Batman issue and manages to outperform almost every issue of Tom King's run with just an annual. Taylor delivers a fantastic story that is accompanied by great art as well. By far the best annual of the series and possibly one of the best issues of this Batman series

Batman #67
July 7, 2021
The only reason to buy this if you just want to have a complete collection. The story is like a looney tunes episode, which is good, if it was meant to be a looney tunes episode. It takes the plot of "Knigntmares" literally no where and seems to be treading water until Tom king is able to come up with an actual story

Tom, no one wants this filler crap anymore. We know you aren't going to go anywhere with it after what you pulled with The Wedding. Just drop this Bat/Cat obsession and go back to the actual story

Solid issue. Not much more to say. Good set-up for 'Fear State' as well

Batman #117
November 24, 2021
This gets a bad review thanks to the inconsistencies in scenes presented in multiple different issues, as well as for wasting my time as well as the time of those who read any of the series that were drug into this event instead of being able to produce some actual good stories. If not for Jimenez carrying this comic with his art this would be a 3 at best

Never in my time reading comics have I seen a silent issue that delivered its message and story as well as this issue did. It's like you know exactly what every single character is thinking without even saying it. Best silent issue I have ever seen

Batman: Secret Files: The Signal #1
July 6, 2021

It's good, but it's not great. This should've been a bit more of an introduction to The Signal, since for the most part people still aren't very familiar with the backstory of Duke Thomas. It was a mostly interesting story, but not something to remember

show
The story was alright. I know it's supposed to be cute, but I still feel like the SuperSons stories just can't decide what it wants to be. The art looks "cute" and like it's meant for children, and they even say things like "heck" but then you also have a "damn it" thrown in. It's like a children's story trying to be made for teens. SuperSons has done some great things, but I'm just not sure how I feel about this one.

Detective Comics #1045
November 24, 2021
Don't get me wrong, this comic was pretty good. The only issue is, why does this have any relation to Fear State? Not only does the events of this issue with Nakano go completely against what has happened in Fear State, but now we found out that this has been going on prior to an issue that was released 2 months ago. Art was amazing though, Mora is killing it in that department

Nightwing Annual #3

It's a real shame Jurgens didn't get the opportunity to give us a run with Dick (not Ric) Grayson. This shows that Jurgens could write a great Nightwing series if he wasn't stuck with Ric Grayson

Nightwing #84

Story is a 9 but, while Rodriguez's art looks great, it's nothing compared to what we were getting from Redondo's in the first 6 issues of Taylor's run

Nightwing Annual: 2021
December 1, 2021

Proof that we need a Nightwing/Red Hood team-up series. This issue was a fantastic representation of the brotherly relationship between Dick & Jason, and I hope we see more of this beyond just this issue.

Nightwing #87

A pretty cool idea. The continuous page thing was pretty interesting and the story was pretty fun. Not really important in the long run of this series but it was a fun issue nonetheless. Love having Redondo back for art as well

Nightwing #89

Solid issue. Loses an extra .5 for a slight plot hole since Nightwing should've had a blue suit during the time of the flashback and not his New 52 Red suit

Robin Annual: 2021
December 1, 2021

Even in an annual Williamson continues to kill it in arguably DC's best ongoing series right now. The issue does a great job of giving quick overviews of characters most readers aren't as familiar with while also teasing the "Shadow War" event for 2022

Skybound X #1
July 7, 2021

Obviously, the title everyone is here for is "Rick Grimes 2000". It managed to live up to the hype and set up a very exciting, non-canon, version of TWD for us to explore.
Ultramega and Manifest Destiny both also proved to be entertaining as well as having great art.
Clementine was probably the next most anticipated title of Skybound X and it managed to live up to the hype as well. It does a great job of setting the stage for whatever the future holds for Clementine
Skybound X #4
July 31, 2021
Honestly overall all these Skybound x issues are solid, fun reads, but due to how short the stories are I feel like none of them are given a chance to really do anything great. Rick Grimes 2000 is suffering from this badly. It's still fun, but it's missing a lot of details that would've improved the story had it been a normal sized story instead of the small 12 pages it is given each week

Skybound X #5
August 4, 2021

Review for 'Rick Grimes 2000': A fantastic ending that pays homage to its source material's ending as well in certain aspects. Overall the series would've been amazing had it been full issues and not just 12 pages, but for the limited space given, Kirkman did a great job with what he was given. The other 3 stories were also pretty great as well.

Superman: Son of Kal-El #1
July 27, 2021
Overall a fantastic issue that sets up for a great story to begin this series with. The only reason I give this a 9.5 instead of a 10 is because of Robin looking roughly the same age and height along with similar maturity level as Jon when Jon is 17 and Damian (who's a bit of a hothead no matter his age) is 14

Superman: Son of Kal-El #4

This issue was just okay. Not really much else to say about it, but not having Timms' art definitely didn't do the issue any favors
Superman: Son of Kal-El #6
January 8, 2022
Just mediocre. My biggest problem, like issue 1, is that Tom Taylor has absolutely no idea how Damian Wayne acts or even talks. It feels like he's trying to make him act like Dick Grayson and forgets that Damian is 14 and isn't anything like Grayson
Superman: Son of Kal-El #8

Writing continues to get worse by each issue. The story itself is just plain uninteresting, and now the art is horrendous as well. It'll be a wonder if this series makes it past 20 issues
