The blue stripes are back! Nightwing gets an updated suit starting this issue! Meanwhile, after the distressing events of rescuing Haley from getting dognapped by bad guys, Nightwing discovers there are way more hits on Dick Grayson than he realized, thanks to going public about his fortune, and he needs to find a clever way to be Dick Grayson and Nightwing at the same time. Tom Taylor and Bruno Redondo bring the focus back to Bludhaven and Dick Grayson's new mission with the Alfred Pennyworth foundation. In the process we get a lot of great character work as we see how important both the Batman and Titans Family are to Dick Grayson's life. Jan 18, 2022The Gen Z tone dates the issue too much and makes NIGHTWING relatable to the current younger demographic but also takes away from the characteristics that make NIGHTWING who he is. This just feels more like a common tone in Taylor's style right now, which isn't necessarily a bad thing it's just not reflective of the character and more on society and social trends bleeding into the dynamic of the character. While I appreciate Taylor's scripts ramping up the tension, the constant fan service often defangs situations that should be harder to overcome. I love everything about this comic book, and this issue is just perfect. From the writing to the drawns, every little thing work together in harmony to bring life this brilliant issue. And the Heartless arc make me very curious about what happening next. The best comic book Taylor is writing in the moment.

The first page alone justifies this score. The rest is just propped up by a narrative that should be shared with disparate communities throughout the world. We can fix our crises. It takes a lot of effort and sometimes people will try to shoot at you but as long as we stand together we can all be Titans. C'mon, it has Wally. P.S. Please bring back Titans.

Um... Tom Taylor on a Titans book? Too much? Would it make DC explode? This was stupid enjoyable, Nightwing continues to be such a consistently entertaining, pleasing book.

I feel like people who again and again express ignorance and disdain for compassion should really get some help for their moral deficiencies. So... like half the people reviewing this comic should get help, if I was being too subtle. I'll name names. This is a really well done issue. First time I've liked the Titans since 2003.

Like its lead character, this issue exudes charm and charisma in spades. It's light-hearted and earnestly optimistic at the same time, serving us a reminder of how much we can achieve with empathy instead of disdain for the poor.

Another amazing issue, The Titans here acted more like titans than in their own book. Still nice issue and interested to see where the story leads next. -2 two for putting fan-service over story in terms of importance, this issue titans next issues are with NEW superman (super-boy) & Flash (Wally). There is an interesting villain Heartless and still every issue brings in other characters, and since they brought these characters they have to include them properly to avoid wasting them in the issue. By the looks of it next issues will also be like this, but hoping the writer dives deep in story with the character rather then skimming over the story with guest staring characters every other issue.

I liked Dick Grayson/Nightwing's return to business in Bludhaven. It was well done. The idea of his bounty on the head is nice and seeing 'Family' come to the rescue is a nice way to show that for this particular character, 'Family' is an expanded and essential notion. But while I like the idea of being shown how important Nightwing is to everyone, I'm one of those who thinks Nightwing can and should be rougher and is certainly able to handle it all without So-and-so intervenes. It is not a question of him being alone but autonomous! he's not just a nice guy, he's a naturally empathetic but unapologetic fighter. I wish Tom Taylor would remember that and show us a Nightwing that can bite! In terms of art, nothing to say, it's over the top. I more

I really like the first half of this issue. The bit of mystery and tension were fun prior to the action. I even enjoyed the first bit of action. I was disappointed with (1) the last half/third of the issue and (2) the feeling that we're losing Dick's voice a bit. (1) Dick was barely in it. The Titans are pretty powerful, so if they're always on call the stakes of the book seem unbalanced. I think it makes sense Babs called them, and Nightwing can't save Dick Grayson without help/shenanigans, but I'd really like to see Nightwing shine in more solo action. (2) The "revelation" Dick has that he doesn't have to go it alone makes no sense to me considering he's had support this whole run. Also, I'd like to be introduced to characters thro more

I know a lot of people are losing their minds over the "new" suit and the Titans making an appearance but I just can't get over all the cringey dialogue. I'm sure Taylor thinks he's funny but the "jokes" just aren't landing and the "quippy" dialogue is not that quippy. Heartless is pretty annoying, I hope Blockbuster kills him because he's not a good addition to the Nightwing mythos. I also cringed at the "unhoused" term, a few years back "homeless" was the usual term but I guess it's not good enough for the left now.

Regardless of the bad jokes and stupid things where rich people make him sick, surely out of envy. Taylor has time and time again transformed Dick into a damsel in distress, all frail. I miss the independent Nightwing, strong, not now she is just a babe, a MarySue who needs to be rescued over and over again by all the layers on earth. But this is the Nightwing they want now, weak, in a horrible mood and with little logic, that's not counting the nefarious new sister.
