Yeah this one sounded like fun so I'll the book a shot. It's kind of a riff on Mile 22 or The Gauntlet. I don't need a Tom King-esque exploration of Batmans psyche. Funnily enough DC has given him another mini that hes calling a heist story. The only ones that will be robbed are the ones that but a Tom King Batman book.

I know. I thought he had enough of Batman, but I guess not. I don't know, I wouldn't necessarily recommend it to you. I felt it was pretty weird, you could tell this was an inexperienced writer (who actually isn't a writer). All I can tell is there's a big difference between The Imposter and this one. Maybe bigger than my ratings would suggest, I was pretty generous with this one.

It's a bit like when Daniels took on a Bat title where he wrote and illustrated it. If it's fun I'm willing to accept it as long as the art is good the story is entertaining and it's written decently. Its like McDonalds sometimes you just want to have it even though you know theres better out there. Imposter was the cerebral exercise Tom King wanted to write but didnt have the chops.

I haven't read this one yet, but I completely agree the imposter did a better job exploring the " mentality of Batman " better then Tom king did in 87 issues lol.

I actually enjoyed this one Merlyn. A new villian that actually works in the rogues gallery-unlike the budget priced creations Tynion threw at us in the main book. It's not a bloated pretentious vat of mucus like King offers. It's just a "get EMP to his cell" romp and after Tynion and King for years I'm cool with that. It has its shortfalls but the fun factor is working for me so far.

Yeah, it's not bad, but I couldn't get over the "logic" of Vasquez actually having a point about crime on the streets only to somehow being made the villain and guilty of the fact that Gordon sucks at his job.

Where in the comic it applies that Damian knew he was into boys??? all the issue says that Damian sees the interaction between this new couple and instantly figures out they are romantically involved. no where in the issue does it say Damian or anyone knew he was into boys for a long time. And yes Damian would figure out that fast, firstly Jon is his best friend and he is trained by the best (LOA, Batman, Nightwing). it would have been surprising if Damian didn't figure it out.

When he says that he's on his way to being the best detective, that he's quite perceptive and after that he congratulates him on coming out. Damian basically told him he knew all along he was into boys. I do find it annoying when I have to explain comics. And there was nothing to "figure out" in the first place because up until Taylor threw the "Jon is into boys now" out of fucking nowhere, Jon never swinged that way. So yeah, it's annoying to pretend now that Damian "knew" this all along.

I'm trying to understand something. If I remember Damian and Jon did a kind of worlds finest thing for a short run right? The age accelerated Jon didnt get a childhood and was flash aged into adolescence. As good as a detective Damaian may be I dont recall any hint of Jon's sexuality pre or post rapid aging. Maybe it's a kryptonian thing?

Because obviously It wasn't planned then, this came out after they grew him up and made him "superman". It seems DC wanted to change superman but since characters like superman, batman, Spiderman became so Iconic that they feared people won't accept change. which I don't blame, people don't particularly like things to change about beloved heroes.

with that being said, they approached the next best thing which is to replace him with a protege. so they can make changes about superman and it will have the plot armour of its a different superman.

Climates change and theres plenty of historical record for that Merlyn. However man cant change climates nor can he stop them from changing. What was global cooling in the 70s morphed into global warming decades later then morphed again into the focus group tested climate change. No one's denying climates change because yes they do change. But we cant stop that.

I actually kind of disagree with you here, Ming, sorry. Man can change climate and the industrialization certainly has done that and affected the climate and not in a good way. You are right, however, that the approach regarding this is political, not scientific, hence my problem with the whole climate change movement. And yes, it has morphed over the years always with the purpose of scaring people to give up their autonomy. It's why I hate it.

If the approach was scientific, not political, I would be on their side, but it's not. And I don't know if we can "stop it" but we can certainly change some habits here and there in order to help the climate. Again, the approach is the key. Recycling is cool, looking for green alternatives is cool, asking people to stop buying cars, stop eating meat, climate lockdowns and the general doom and gloom of it all is disgusting. The polluution thing is one thing Merlyn we can certainly be better stewards of the environment. But the CO2 thing is quite another. Stopping eating meat or driving a car doesn't stop any climate from changing. Take the minute ice age of the 1300s through the mid 1800s. Its attributed to lower solar activity and less volcanic activity that period. Should we have encouraged more bovine flatulence to warm up those 509 years?

That's also true, individuals are not the ones who have contributed in a major way to climate problems. However, companies have found ways to pretend they care about the environment, to "play green" so to speak, while politicians are yelling at people that eat too much, use too much cars, want autonomous heating system instead of central heating etc.

All the same, between Democrats and Republicans, it's the Democrats who have chosen to ride the climate change train. First, they weren't having sex in the book, they just had their shirts off. Second, the bomb is a part of Scott's history. It's literally his origin. There was a bomb used to sabotage the bridge by Albert Dekker. As a Green Lantern fan you would think that you'd know that. Alan has trauma. His love died in an accident that was NOT caused by their love or even remotely his fault. But clearly you are just homophobic and don't care.

When do publishers and Hollywood understand that we want quality? I'm glad to be included, but not at the cost of rejecting a good project.
