It is climate alarmism. And I've given it a 1.0, not just for that, I really, really didn't enjoy anything here. And I don't understand the second comment, are you suggesting is my fault that some people are unable to engage in conversations with me? Or are you saying it's theirs. Climates change and theres plenty of historical record for that Merlyn. However man cant change climates nor can he stop them from changing. What was global cooling in the 70s morphed into global warming decades later then morphed again into the focus group tested climate change. No one's denying climates change because yes they do change. But we cant stop that.

I actually kind of disagree with you here, Ming, sorry. Man can change climate and the industrialization certainly has done that and affected the climate and not in a good way. You are right, however, that the approach regarding this is political, not scientific, hence my problem with the whole climate change movement. And yes, it has morphed over the years always with the purpose of scaring people to give up their autonomy. It's why I hate it.

If the approach was scientific, not political, I would be on their side, but it's not. And I don't know if we can "stop it" but we can certainly change some habits here and there in order to help the climate. Again, the approach is the key. Recycling is cool, looking for green alternatives is cool, asking people to stop buying cars, stop eating meat, climate lockdowns and the general doom and gloom of it all is disgusting. Btw, Happy New Year!

The polluution thing is one thing Merlyn we can certainly be better stewards of the environment. But the CO2 thing is quite another. Stopping eating meat or driving a car doesn't stop any climate from changing. Take the minute ice age of the 1300s through the mid 1800s. Its attributed to lower solar activity and less volcanic activity that period. Should we have encouraged more bovine flatulence to warm up those 509 years?

They're different things, yes, but they're both not helping the environment. Don't get me wrong, I'm not one of those "get rid of coal altogether" either, not at any cost for the people. Like I said, I don't agree with idiotic lefties and their "solutions" to help the climate.

The progs dont have solutions they have demands for more power and control. Theyve always been that way.

Im a leftist and my issue has always been neolibs passing the climate buck to the individual and lowering our individual quality of life instead of holding the 30 or so global companies fiscally responsible for cleaning up their act. That's also true, individuals are not the ones who have contributed in a major way to climate problems. However, companies have found ways to pretend they care about the environment, to "play green" so to speak, while politicians are yelling at people that eat too much, use too much cars, want autonomous heating system instead of central heating etc.

I don't care you're a lefty, I don't care if you like Democrats either, in all honesty, even though I sympathize with Republicans a lot more, there are several Democratic historical figures that I find fascinating. All the same, between Democrats and Republicans, it's the Democrats who have chosen to ride the climate change train. If anything, you can accuse the Republicans that they don't give a fuck about the climate at all, but they certainly don't blame the individuals like Dems do.

I was referring to the part where Mongul put Supes in the moral dilemma of either killing that guy to save his whole team or refuse to do it and then endangering his son by Mongul's threats. A tough choice that was just waved off with some cheap hopeful speech by Superman. I was genuinely curious to see what choice he'll make and the solution was... Superman just telling Lia everything will be fine. I expected better.

To be fair, he did make a choice (not kill and "endanger his son") and then someone actually died. He then doubled down on that philosophy to not kill "those who dont cheer for you" in the conversation with MN. I actually thought that was a bold ass move, telling MN that his life was not worth more than the warlords'. I was into it.

I actually think Supe's anti-lethal philosophy in this run is exceptional, its challenging and certainly interested in this day and age. Compare that to the intensely insufferable superman arc happening back on Earth...

His solution was "I'm sure everything'll turn out ok for you Lia, even though you're dead right now". That's not something I enjoyed at all. His philosophy wasn't about not killing those who cheer for them, it was about winning hearts and minds by trying to win over even those that don't understand him at this point. I did like that but again, it really bothered me that whole "oh you're dead but you'll get over it".

Yeah, I also enjoy this a lot more than Taylor's cringy Superman, which is horrible overall. But I still feel like this run is playing it too safe.
