I'm knocking a point off the overall score, because that's way too much for one genuinely good story and then a lot of filler, even if some of the filler is pretty decent on its own. I enjoyed this overall but I cannot help but feel a bit disappointed, I expected better What the fuck actually happened in Devito's story?? However the Ras Al Ghul, Mad Hatter, Killer Moth and Ivy stories were great

I seldom buy anthology comics anymore, but this wasn't a total disappointment as they tend to be. Danny DeVito wrote an interesting enough fantasy story. Though it didn't really make too much sense. How could Catwoman and Penguin ever become in item? The thought alone makes one dizzy. The Scarecrow story was average, but gives him a decent story after "Fear State" had us all begging for less. The Mad Hatter story featured my least favorite Batman character ever, Damian, so he pretty much killed it. The Poison Ivy one was as dull as any Ivy story nowadays can be. Her new lesbian persona kind of makes her more interesting older capers where she seduced men seem a bit obsolete now. But in plain truth, the story was just plain BOR-RING. It w more

Yet another anthology from DC. This one wasn't that bad though. I think the worst story is actually the much hyped one. Bird Cat Love by Danny DeVito is ridiculous and weird, and I wish I was saying those things in a positive way. It just didn't work, in my opinion. The next story was probably only slightly better, The Fearless Man. It tried to do a lot and didn't really land. Ophiocordyceps Lamia is probably my favorite of the bunch. I really like how G. Willow Wilson writes Ivy and I hope she continues to write the character going forward. Demon's Game was super boring. I don't think Ra's Al Ghul is a compelling character. I think he has a potential that, despite so many stories about him, hasn't yet been exploited. The Second Eye is more more

Yeah, this was a weird one. 3 for the Penguin story, biggest wtf from this book, 5 for the Scarecrow one. I have to take the time though to talk about G Willow Wilson's story which is truly horrendous. I liked that she at least admitted, unintentionally though, that Ivy is an extremist and a terrorist, that's something a lot of people have forgotten these days, they just consider her heroic because she kills people who are polluting. Also, I laughed out loud at the cringy dialogue between Ivy and Janet. "You look gorgeous in a non-harassment kind of way"??? Who the hell talks like that? I'm pretty sure no real person has ever uttered those words. Yeah, it's a 1 for this story, is just wrong on so many levels. 7 for the Red Hood story, 6.5 f more

This is very, very bad. The biggest waste of money I've spent in a long time. I basically just bought myself an excessive period of boredom. Guess I've got to be more frugal when it comes to comic books in the future. Oh well. The least I can do is complain about it online in a vain attempt to persuade people not to buy it. Ah, who am I kidding? Nobody's gonna see this. "Bird Cat Love" is just weird. I didn't expect it to be well-written, but even Dan Mora's art looked blander than usual. "The Fearless Man" mostly confused me. The art's pretty nice to look at, but I had no engagement in the story whatsoever. "Ophiocordyceps Lamia" was fine.
