Ultimate Spider-Man #13 is a phenomenal must-read comic book. From the moment you open this comic book there is a tension created by the visual of the Black Suit Spider-Man. It is a tension that turns into great concern when learning about the dangerous predicament Peter Parker and Harry Osborn are in. Then, Checchettos artwork comes into the symphony to lay down melodies of rich, recursive artwork that calls back to the early issues while still offering something new. Rounded out by Wilsons sublime coloring choices, which at times shock a new tone into the book, the artwork shifts into a new dimension. I really loved this, though the AI spidey suit with Peter's son was not that good but it didn't ruin this. The best part for me was Kraven throwing Peter and Harry into the Savage Land. The action in this was perfect! Of course.dialogue is still top notch!

Plot Richard Parker, Peter's son, has been Spider-Man for months, thanks to the nanotechnology of Peter's suit, which physically behaves much like the Venom symbiote, of course it is like an artificial intelligence that Peter programmed to replace him if he disappeared. The whole family knows that Peter is missing and that this version is a substitute, what nobody knows is that Richard is impersonating his father. Richard wearing this suit looks like Spider-Man, who patrols the streets to see if he can get a clue about his father, he only gets it with the new Black Cat, the daughter of the original who was seriously injured after his fight against Green Goblin and Spiderman. The location of Peter and Harry is still trapped by Kraven, who for months has been torturing them and has them controlled with explosive collars. Kraven asks Mole Man to lend him his underground world, which in this version is The Savage Land, to send Harry and Peter and then hunt them down. This perverse game is also being supervised by Mysterio. Kingpin's Sinister Six are working as a team, though their differences are about to blossom. Peter and Harry have three hours to prepare in the Savage Land before Kraven comes in to hunt them down, Peter's plan is to reach the edge of this place where it is possible to get an exit to the surface, of course they will achieve this if they escape from all the dinosaurs and lethal fauna of this place. This comic gets better and better, showing this alternate version with many new elements based on other comic classics, where many times the reader has a great complicity with the comic. Art It is loaded with great details that explode in your face supported by subtle and well-placed textures, which gives a raw and powerful tone to this story that shakes and gives a realistic twist to Spider-man. It is organic and dynamic. Summary Peter and Harry are in a race against time to save themselves and thus save their families from Kraven's wickedness more

honestly a pretty solid issue with great dialogue, characters, and art. The pacing is quick and snappy. I am excited for the second year of Hickman's Spider-Man

Great start to the second year of the series. With the first year all said and done, I think this tops my ranking list for the Ultimate line. It's a lot of character work, but it's all really, really good. Checchetto is killing it here, as well. I'm super intrigued to see what happens with Richard and (I'm assuming?) Felicia after the ending of this.

Great writing, ideas and dialogue from Hickman. Ambitious to throw the whole kit and caboodle so early on with the Sinister 6 but why not? Marco Checchetto is tight, detailed and beautiful as always. Never any corners cut in his art.
