Jun 04, 2025The King is Dead. Long Live the Legacy. Priest's writing builds up the complex duties of a fractured King. Quesada's art takes the emotions to greater heights. Combining these elements proves for a winning combination. If readers need to know why Marvel Knights was so impactful, they only need this issue for a small glimpse. Jun 04, 2025Priest, Quesada, and Isanove aim high here. Unfortunately, for as much as the art and coloring elevate Marvel Knights The World To Come #1, the overall narrative holds it back. While there are intriguing character moments, they arent surrounded by much in the way of world or story. For the moment, Marvel Knights The World To Come #1 is more about what the series might offer in the future than anything it brings to the table now. Read Full Review

Jun 04, 2025Marvel Knights: The World to Come #1 is going to get people talking. Not for the wonky narrative flow that's become a Christopher Priest hallmark, the dour post-apocalyptic story, or the impressive Joe Quesada art. No, people will only bother talking about this comic because of the last-page twist. This comic should more accurately be titled Marvel Knights: Short-Term Internet Clicks. Read Full Review

Jun 08, 2025I feel like this comic might have been fun in 1998, but it feels like moldy leftovers in 2025. Joe Quesada deserved some better scripts for his return to interiors. (Thankfully, Marvel Knights #1 is less wordy than Kevin Smith's Daredevil.) Read Full Review
