Avengers #31 reveals the journey of how Kang the Conqueror dons the mask and identity of Myrddin to seize the Grail. Sadly, the motivation and story behind why Kang becomes Myrddin is underwhelming. Kangs transition into becoming Myrddin isnt that exciting nor enlightening about Kang as an individual, but mileage will vary from reader to reader. But now that we know the how and why Kang became Myrddin, the story can focus on the battle between Kang and the Avengers next issue. Read Full Review

Plot This comic tells the story of how Kang becomes Myrddin, how out of his boredom he creates a rival worthy of his knowledge and skills. This was, therefore, an act intended to deceive and distract everyone in order to obtain the Lost Moment. The narrative is somewhat complex to understand, this concept of duality created from concepts like a subjective timeline. This comic connects all the loose ends from the Timeless comic. Art It includes many textures that blur details but also highlight the anatomy and epic poses, as well as a dreamlike feel characteristic of the flashbacks. Summary The origin of Myrddin and Kang

I guess fans of Kang might enjoy it? Unfortunately I'm not one, and I didn't. I don't want to mark it down too much because I could appreciate that it was well written and drawn, it just wasn't a story or about a character I care about. The scene with Shakespeare was moderately amusing, at least.

Why can't this book keep an artist for more than two or three issues? This is frustrating.
