This issue is better than last week's. I think Kelly Thompson was seriously just too busy to give this run her full attention. It would explain why, inexplicably, Jed MacKay scripted this issue based on her story. I think the issue may have turned out better for it, as MacKay is very talented, but it makes me wonder if given more room to breathe, if Thompson would've fit better on this title. The pacing and character work here is better, but I can't say the same for the art. I really don't understand why this run needs multiple fill-in artists, when the whole idea was rotating creative teams. At this point, it must be on Marvel's editorial, rather than any of the creators. Petition to get Devin Lewis to replace Nick Lowe? Seriously, he'd be
a better fit. more

Better pacing here and a MUCH better script than the previous issues, props to Jed MacKay for this one

It was good, but from an editorial standpoint this is a mess. When the solicits came out Thompson was gonna write this but it turns out she only did the plot, i thought well, she probably has a lot on her plate with Black Widow, Captain Marvel and Her Substack work so i understand why Mackay is writing, but then we have 3 rotating artists...they're amazing but they have clashing styles, which gives the worst feeling a comic can give which is inconsistency. And 3 rotating artists is just one more indicative that the only thing this book is consistent is the editorial staff doing such an underwhelming job that even when they have determined the number of issues to tell a story they will still find a way to rush the creative team, putting 3 to
4 rotating artists in one issue or 2 writers.
It happened in the end of Spencer's run with King's Ransom, Chameleon Conspiracy and Sinister War and is happening again, and as much as I'm enjoying Beyond just like i was enjoying Spencer's run up until Last Remains, the only thing that's holding it all together is the fact that we all knew from the beginning that this was gonna last for 19 issues, instead of a whole saga of more than 50+ issues. We have one tie-in and one main issue left, which gives me the feeling that the end might be rushed(i sincerely hope not), the same feeling i had with issue 73, one issue before Spencer's last issue.
I hate pointing out names but why Marvel is still letting Nick Lowe be the editor of their biggest series? the lowest points of Slott run happened when he took over, the inconsistent art rotation started when he took over, so many editorial mistakes like failed references of past comics and character names started to be more apparent after he took over, this does such a huge disservice to the creative team. Also, what the fuck is wrong with these solicits? there isn't a single one of them that is actually accurate to the contents of the issue and they pretend that every issue will be this "mind-blowing issue that changes the character forever" thing and it's already so played out that it's unbelievable how they keep doing this. Not spoiling the main content is one thing, lying is another thing, how are the fans supposed to feel optimistic about the future of this book if things never change? we just want good and consistent stories with a consistent art team, is that too much to ask Nick Lowe?
Anyway, sorry about the rambling but this thing just gives me the nerves, but nonetheless I'm hoping everything turns out well in the end. more

The overall structure of this issue is better then the last but I honestly enjoyed the last more. Really just for the fun quippy dialogue. Separating Ben and Peter has only been a detriment to this arc as a whole and while it served the story for a purpose I kind of tuned out when they weren't together. Ben's story isn't strong enough to stand on it's own which is a shame because I love Ben. The Misty and Colleen subplot is also something I don't really think it necessary but it is serviceable. I at least like the relationship they have with Peter. MacKay is just a stellar writer. I wish he was sticking with ASM. I have the same problem as I did last issue with the artist swapping and there was even less Pichelli.

It's odd to think Beyond will end. Sure, this is pretty good, but ending it now feels so sudden. Like there hasn't been enough buildup. Looking back now, I sure wish the earlier parts would've been much better, so that this ending didn't need to do all the character work for Ben.
As for Ben, I'm getting a bit Kaine-vibes now. I don't like it. When Beyond first started, I remember saying Kaine would've been the better choice for this role.
Right now, Ben is just eh. I don't really care for him. Then again, I haven't cared for him since his first death.

It's alright. I like the Ben parts but, I feel the Peter parts weren't as entertaining.

A nice step up from the previous issue. It's very well-written, with fun dialogue and a compelling look inside Ben's head. And it's drawn half-well.
Imma say it: Fran Galán was a bad choice for this arc. I actually like his style, but he's not (yet) good enough at detail and visual storytelling to match up with the other Beyond artists. You just hurt him further when you give him less than an issue; it's guaranteed his pages will be next to better-drawn ones.
