The art style in this issue isnt my favorite, but it didnt take away from an issue that makes you wonder how far Beyond will go (Marcus is in big trouble and I'm already trying to figure out how to combine his name with Rhizome – Marczome?), who is going to stop them and how will things get fixed afterward. Amazing Spider-Man #88 has Ben Reilly face off against the new Queen Goblin. So far, Queen Goblin is fine, she has a cool look thanks to the art team, but that's about it right now. It also doesn't help that Marvel accidentally spoiled her secret identity, so the mystery's gone. But the rest of the story is still fine as we learn more of the Beyond Corporation. Hopefully, the action with Queen Goblin picks up in the next issue. Read Full Review

I’m just taking a point off because goblin queen is kinda boring. A fill in the blank villain. What I really like is how this issue makes me hate it for what it’s doing to Ben. Like in a good way. I have it a nine. I am afraid the overall story May do long standing damage to a character I love but it has engaged me in a such a good way that I can’t possibly score it low! I’m hoping Ben will come through the hero but I fear marvel also views him as expendable and wants to give a very different status quo… until the end though, I’m excited for what comes next and when I can’t wait for what comes next, this was a good issue.

Great chapter heading in the right direction. Wells just knows how to setup up and move things around. Dowling's art style changed in every issue throughout this beyond run. He is still evolving and still finding his style and maybe he went a bit heavy with shadowy figures and pencils in some panels but his inking is great! I get a Alex Maleev vibe sometimes in some panels but he's not there yet. He still has to make his action sequences gel better but it's great stuff overall. Valenza's colors were fitting and his little details like on Maxine's eye shadow were nice.

Ben dropping MJ's ass with a clearly deranged super villain made me laugh out loud (but Peter will likely want to decapitate his twin now). Also, this issue confirmed the fact that I would very happily be a slave for Maxine Danger, and I mean that in a sexual way.

The new villain has a cool design. Rhings are heating up for Veyond corporation especially with Ben's mind not what it once was. Really interesting to see what happens from here.

LMAO Ben just turned into Bully Maguire, was kinda hoping he was gonna say "See ya chump" to MJ, what a missed opportunity lol. Besides that, another fun chapter of Beyond, really intrigued to see what will happen in these last issues.

The story was good, and it's nice to feel like Beyond is going somewhere finally, but Michael Dowling was the completely wrong artist for an all-action story

I’m torn on this one. The Beyond plot is decent. I just don’t like how Ben’s arc is ending up. I guess this is the solution to having a clone of Peter who is different enough from Peter.

There are a lot of cool ideas presented in this issue. As the single Spencer fan, I'll give extra points for continuity between this run and that. I think the biggest failing here is the art. It's just not suited for the action in this issue. Luckily, Mark Bagley is coming in for next issue to hopefully deliver on the action goods. This issue is solid, but I'm hoping more excitement is to come as the Beyond era reaches its conclusion.

This cemented my complete disdain for Maxine not that it was trying to prop her up as anything but a corporate big wig trying to make a profit. They succeeded so she is a decent villain if only too one note. There isn't a lot of depth to her character and I don't really care when she's on the page. The story felt very fast. Not rushed, everything just transitioned very quickly I had a bit of whiplash at the end when Ben just dips leaving MJ. As cheesy as it is, I like seeing the two red head Spider-Girlfriends hanging out. I do feel really bad for who was forged into the Goblin Queen. She deserved better than to be a pawn of Maxine's.

I really enjoyed this issue despite seeing some definite points for improvement. The art is great for the talky scenes but not so much for the fighting, for example. And the dialogue is serviceable at best. I loved the full revelation of Beyond's nastiness. And I appreciate the way the script used a combination of step-by-step dot connecting and more subtle "nod and a wink" connections to get all the plot development done. Comedy Nitpick: Really, Marvel? You're gonna do characters named "Goblin Queen" AND "Queen Goblin"?

Art looks bland here. Origin of Queen Goblin is nothing interesting neither unique. It's decent enough. Queen Goblin Design is decent. Now coming to main aspect of story, Beyond is typical Coglomerate. Buy or Exploit Laws. Beyond is clearly exploiting laws. Government gives pass whenever a Hero/Villain fight is involved. Beyond is just planning those attacks to cover themselves. Ben is just a Employee.
