OverallThis is a fantastic issue that pushes the twisted rivalry between Pranky and Mr. X-Ray to new heights while introducing the sinister Doctor Ego. As large as the ensemble is in this series, it's really interesting to see how it all comes together. And there really is a very patient sort of a pacing going on in the course of the series and it's ancillary titles. There are so many different avenues, which could plug into the background of Hyde Street. Add it would be way too easy to just try to cram everything together into single issues. Hyde Street is in the midst of a fun arc linking all the characters together in a different manner than passing by and watching the scoreboard. This has been one of the Ghost Machine standouts and one that constantly keeps finding new ways to surprise readers. Read Full Review

Plot Pranky puts on the mask he stole from Mr. X-Ray's office and turns into a werewolf. He returns to X-Ray's office, asking for help. Mr. X-Ray helps him, but only on the condition that he lets him collect his souls. They both leave with Doctor Ego, a horrible resident of Hyde Street who tortures people before removing their souls through painful operations without anesthesia. Doctor Ego fails to remove the mask, but he takes Mr. X-Ray's glasses and puts them on Pranky, who suddenly travels back in time and sees his pregnant mother arrive at a military barracks. Mr. X-Ray's artifacts reveal parts of your being and show them to you. Pranky put on the mask and turned into the monster he is. Then he put on the glasses, and now he's ab out to have shocking revelations. Meanwhile, Sisterhood asks Monster Matinee for help because something terrible is about to happen on Hyde Street, and the Butcher of Hyde Street is responsible. The residents' shocking revelations begin. Art It offers a retro aesthetic and the same gloomy effect as 1980s supernatural horror and slasher films. It's detailed and achieves amazing facial expressions. Summary Pranky fell into Mr. X-ray's trap and now asks for his help, so this installment introduces the sadistic Doctor Ego more

Things are coming together in Hyde Street, in terms of the story as well as this amazing creative team. Hyde Street #8 is sheer perfection!

This series has just been outstanding storytelling. I love the format, the world, the characters, the art, the writing, everything is just great. This issue, as each one before it, leaves me wanting more.

I like the conflict between Pranky and Mr. X-Ray. I have no idea where this story is going, however. Who am I supposed to root for here? Everyone here is bad, and I don't see them searching for redemption. They just become worse as time goes on. My Comic Review Channel - https://youtu.be/iR4aK2xZYL0
