BATMAN: THE KNIGHT #7 was a clever way to tie in Bruce's journey with magic while also taking the time to take a look under the hood of Bruce's mission for Justice. Readers will see his core motifs as well as the engine that runs this classic 1939 BMW 335. However, Zdarsky uses BATMAN: THE KNIGHT #7 to focus on the fuel of that engine as well as how close he is to using that very same dark drive to unravel and completely fall off the rails. This is the kind of adventure you never knew you needed. Seeing Bruce Wayne at a young age encountering impossible threats and yet finding ways to beat them is exciting. He's not even Batman yet but is resourceful enough to stay alive and hold his own. To further draw readers in, Zdarsky continues to reveal a tender, more human side to Bruce Wayne. Read Full Review

Batman: The Knight #7 is a great look into Bruce's first exposure to the world of magic, and his relationship with Zatanna. The book uses magic as a way of examining Bruce's perspective on the world, and how it has left him intractable to anything that he can't control. This is the kind of story that I've been wanting from this series: a character study framed in the context of learning something new about Bruce's life. Aside from a somewhat repetitive tone and art in some parts, this is an excellent origin story. Read Full Review

Been rewatch the animated series and ironically watched the Zatana episode last night. This issue was great and may be my favorite from this run so far.

What a fun issue. Zatana is different but it's an interesting take on her character and the mythos. And Wayne as a sorcerer is something that works a lot better than I thought. If anything, I just wish this in particular had a little more to breath but it's still a strong issue in an already strong series.
